I'm sorry, and this may not matter, but I thought April was in a totally different hospital than Hannah. For instance, Lucy/Luke is with Travis's father, which makes the plot thicken.

I don't think it was ever specified.

I'm not really sure what hospitals Luke and Travis were in, but if this messes things up, you can ignore it. The part after it is more important right now because it's the only idea I have.

@Isabelle K- I'm slightly confused. Is it an amputation or just an operation to get the shrapnel out of his leg? Or neither?

April~

I search through the wreckage of what I used to call home, looking for a clue or a sign, even one little footprint, that could help me find my siblings. I search through my house, and what's left of the neighboring ones. As it starts to get dark, one of my neighbors steps out onto her front porch and asks what I'm doing outside on a cold night when my house is still standing.

"My siblings are missing," I tell her. "They were staying with May Carson, whose house was destroyed."

"Oh dear, that's terrible!" she says, "I'll get the rest of my family to help you look."

Luckily for me, she has a husband and five kids who are all old enough to join in the search. Sadly, after and hour of searching, we have had no luck, and it's constantly getting darker. Then I hear footsteps, and my hopes rise..... And it's just my mom. She lookks around at the disaster that meets her eyes.

"Mom! The houses were destroyed but ours is still standing and when I got here oh it was terrible! Caroline and James and Abbie are misssing and so is Mrs. Carson and its so horrible and-" "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down honey," Mom replies. "Your siblings are missing?"

"Yes!!!" I say, tears streaming down my cheeks. "They're gone, and we couldn't find them anywhere."

"It's okay April, we'll figure this out together," she says, putting on her brave face.

Then she sits down and thinks. You can tell when Mom is thinking very hard about something. She has a cretain expression on her face. It's a mix of very deep concentration and confusion.

"I have an idea of where they might be. Come on April, follow me," she says confidently.

Sorry I have not written in a while!

Lydia~

I've completed my first surgery. Of course I was assisted by the head doctor, Doc. Meole, but it was still my first ever real operation. I felt sorry for the poor lad that I was giving the surgery to; he looked a bit scared when I told him I was going to do surgery on him. At least everything turned out to be fine.
They say they're going to send me to a new hospital; I don't want to go. I like it here. I've now became friends with many people: Elijah (who now works at the hospital), Miss Morgan, Eliza works here sometimes too, and last but not least Emma. Emma is Doc. Meole's daughter. She comes every other day to help out. She's nice. I'll miss her If they do send me to another hospital... Like I miss my family.
I guess I'll write a letter to Dad, and my brother Elijah. Here goes!
Dear Dad and Elijah,
I'm fine here in DC. How are you? I miss and love you terribly... I'll be home when the war ends, if that ever happens. This is short because Miss Morgan is calling for me to come help with a patient. I just performed my first surgery. It was scary. I miss you all!
Love,

Lydia
