So, I was looking for a thread I had made, and for some reason this came up. And as I was reading it, I remembered how much I loved this RP, and how attached I was to Jasmine.
So now I'm thinking, let's redo it.
This is exactly what it sounds like. Realistic fiction. Your charries can be people in the hospital (which is mostly a kids' hospital, but it'll do adults too) or people who have relatives, friends, or just want to help out in the hospital.

Here's my charrie:
Name: Jasmine Nimakita
Age: 10
Appearance: Small for her age, she has short black hair and large, dark green eyes. Her skin is very pale.
Personality: She's almost silent, rarely speaks, and when she does it's very short sentences. She's easily startled but quite friendly. A bit hesitant.
Other: She has a full-time doctor who stays with her 24/7. She's also an orphan.
Condition: Odine's Curse, which means you have to consciously remember to breathe. So her hospital room is permanent, and it has a big sign saying "BREATHE" in large, red, bold letters. (and, to answer the inevitable question, she has to be hooked up to a machine during the night that forces her to breathe.)

Huh, I wasn't aware of Odine's Curse at all before you mentioned it. Wow.
Of course, it'd be fun to play a patient in the kid's psych ward or someone with a relative in the ward. That could be boring, though, to play as a "myself" character. Plus, they won't be able to meet Jasmine and other people in the other wards. What are your thoughts?

Ruby: The last time this RP was done, we did it so the hospital planned for a bunch of patients to get together, and a lot of relatives and friends just tagged along. So we could do that again.
It's odd, I always find it easier to play as a character like me because I don't have to think about their decisions as much. But I could also understand that one would want to challenge themselves, in which case, just go with your gut. Guts are pretty accurate usually.

Okay, here's my charrie:
Name: Sophie Patel
Age: 7
Appearance: She still has baby fat and is pretty short for her age. She has medium length, thick, frizzy, dark brown hair that is usually braided, brown eyes, light brown, warm-toned skin, and a cute smile with her front teeth missing. She wears sun and moon earrings and bright colors when she can.
Personality: Innocent and cute, she's a chatterbox and is very enthusiastic about things she likes.
Other: She's not in the hospital full time, but she's in and out of it a lot.
Condition: Epilepsy/seizures.

Personality: Was a chatterbox before she got sick, but now is a little shy and mostly talks to herself.
Other: Her parents died in a car crash, and she hardly ever gets visitors.
Condition: She has lung cancer and diabetes.

Oh goodness, I missed this! Thanks for starting it back! I don't know if Indigo is going to RP again, but Luke will still be visiting Nina.
Name: Earnestine Peridot
Age: 13
Personality: Determined and hardworking. She makes goals for herself and focuses on them, and won't let anyone stop her. She is usually cheerful and enthusiastic.
Appearance: Dark blonde hair with hints of brown. She is about average height.
Condition: She was born blind due to some complicated problem at birth (which was fixed). She tries not to let this stop her, and hates feeling like an invalid. She has given up reading (in braille) because it makes her more aware of her disability.
Name: Luke Citere
Age: 11
Appearance: Thin, light blonde hair and green eyes. Somewhat short for his age.
Personality: He hasn't spoken since the day his best friend Nina tried to kill herself. He is bold, though, but he hardly ever smiles.
Family/Friend in the hospital: Nina (Indigo's charrie from the other Hospital RP) and Jasmine (he drew her a picture, remember?).

Name: Tyler Thoms (girl)
Age: 10
Appearance: Short black hair, average height and unhealthly thin, large purple eyes, very pale skin with sun spots on her face
Personality: Always positive about other people, but is fairly negative about her own situation and hides behind her own mental walls. She is aggressively loyal and protective. Often acts ashamed of her condition.
Other: Is mostly in the hospital because of a recent alergic reaction, but is also being kept there because of clear issues in mental health
Condition: Xeroderma Pigmentosum which is an extreme sensitivity to sunlight (ultraviolet light). Her room has special lights and she usually wears long clothing. Because of the condition she has also developed seizures and difficulty hearing.

Sounds like fun! I'd like to join, but I won't be able to post very often until Camp NaNo is over.
Name: Lacey Welther
Age: 15
Appearance: She has REALLY LONG feathery white blonde hair, bright blue eyes, fair skin, and a bright smile.
Personality: Lacey is very quiet and kind, she doesn't talk much, even though she has quite a lot to say, she just prefers observing and listening to everything. She is a huge daydreamer, and likes to draw.
Other: When she was 13, her mother and little sister were killed in a house fire.
Condition: She suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, due to the fire, which causes her to have nightmares, anxiety attacks and infrequent bouts of depression.

I've been debating this over and over with myself, but I think I'm going to input myself as a character (with names changed and all). I'm sorry. I'll remove him and/or myself if it's not wanted. And please say if it's not wanted. I don't want to drag you down and it's not going to hurt me.
Name: Oliver "Ollie" James (not remotely related to my name in any way)
Age: 16
Appearance: An average twelve-year-old with brown hair and glasses. Somewhat chubby and undermuscled.
Personality: ... I don't really know. I guess kind of somber. Wants to help people. Messes things up a lot.
Other: Goes to see the psychiatrist every two-three months, sees a therapist pretty irregularly because she's so busy, has stayed in the children's psych ward in the past. Has been through and done some very dark stuff. It's not something he talks about.
Condition: Schizophrenia (I'm sorry. I really need to play other characters. It's boring for people to read the same thing all the time. I promise I'll play something else if the situation arises later.) Has/had delusions; auditory, visual, tactile and an occasional olfactory hallucination; lack of motivation; some disorganized thinking; loss of muscle control at times of great stress; a smattering of negative symptoms. Is currently on medication.

So, I thought about it, and I think I'm going to change Lacey's condition. I've never met anyone who has PTSD, and I don't know if it's a condition that would cause you to be in the hospital, I just learned about it in history class when my teacher mentioned that some soldiers suffer from PTSD, and I googled the symptoms and so on.
I think Lacey will have Legg-Calve-Perthes disease. It is cause by a majorly decreased lack of blood flow to one or both of the hips, causing the bone to die. Over time, new blood vessels will grow and remove the necrotic bone, but it was causing Lacey a lot of pain so she's in the hospital recovering from surgery and going through therapy.
I got all of that info from Wikipedia, so I hope I didn't get any of my facts wrong... I know Wikipedia isn't always right.
I hope it's not a problem that I decided to change Lacey's condition. Thanks a bunch!
