Enchanted Forest Chronicl

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Enchanted Forest Chronicl

Enchanted Forest Chronicles RP!

So, you know what the last recorded story is. This RP is taking place sixteen years after that.

Background: The wizards are moving again, and mysterious things are taking place in the Enchanted Forest. More and more ditsy little princesses have been found roaming around. And, fewer and fewer knights, heroes, and princes are showing up to rescue them.

And, to add to it, entire kingdoms are being destroyed overnight, with little to no survivors. Each of the remaining kingdoms are sending one volunteer each on a quest to discover the root of this problem ...

So! Our charries are going to be part of this dangerous quest! I would like it if you could each make two charries, but if that's too much, that's fine. Here are the names of the remaining kingdoms:

Linderwall, The Enchanted Forest, Sathem-by-the-mountains, and The Mountains of Morning (I know it's technically not a kingdom, but a lot of dragons live here)

So this means we will have a group of questers of the following:

A human, any species, a human, and a dragon.

The charrie sheet:

Name:

Age:

Gender:

Kingdom:

Species:

Appearance:

Personality:

Weapon:

Magic: (if any)

Parents:

Other:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (Note: I would recomend being the descendants of the MCs)
Name: Lili
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Kingdom: The Enchanted Forest
Species: Fire-witch
Appearance: I have to post it seperately.
Personality: Firey, obviously. She won't take no for an answer, and keeps pushing on. For some reason she doesn't know, she is deathly afraid of dragons.
Weapon: She has a wand she likes to use to channel her spells.
Magic: (if any) Fire-witch magic, of course.
Parents: Her adopted parents are Telemain and Morwen. She doesn't know who her birth parents are.
Other: I think I got everything ...
P.S, let's try to get a good romance subplot or two thrown in, shall we?
Bronwyn~
"Wow, I've never be up this high before," I say, looking down at the tops of the trees. I've never even been off the ground, actually. It's not like I could ever climb trees.
Emma's griffin, Lorcan, flies so smoothly that I can barely feel him. I close my eyes and imagine that I am a bird; a perfectly normal bird without a twisted leg. It would be nice to have wings. It would be nice to have fully functional legs. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, I think. We have bigger issues at hand. I cannot believe that the castle is falling apart. What will we do if it is reduced to ruins? Those bricks are the very glue that holds Argwen together.
"Where are we going?" I ask. Lorcan seems to know the way, but I am hopelessly lost. "I dont know," Emma says. "Lorcan seems to know what's right. I guess we'll see when we get there." That makes me nervous. I am already a long way from home, alone with a girl and a very dangerous animal, and I don't even know where they are taking me. It's too late now to back out, though. All I can hope is that Emma was telling the truth.
@Judges, this is NOT part of the roleplay! Bluebird accidentally made a mistake! Please do not take points off for it!
Name: Alice
Age: 15
Gender: Female
Kingdom: The Enchanted Forest
Species: Witch
Appearence: See picture
Personality: She is very sensible, but has a fun streak. If she gets an idea stuck in her head she will never let go. She works out the best plan and implements it, often not asking the other members of her team.
Weapon: She has a dagger that she keeps in her boot.
Magic: She has regular witch magic, and knows the spell for melting wizards.
Parents: Her parents are the King and Queen of a small kingdom near the Mountains of Morning.
Other: She is the youngest of fourteen sisters, and her parents couldn't afford to find a suitable match for her, so they sent her off to the Enchanted Forest to find a Prince. She decided she would rather train as a witch, so she learned magic. She has five cats: Mozart, Canon, Fitzwilliam, Francine, and Pearl.
~{Lili}~ "Lili! Please come here!" I start scrambling down from my perch, the only tree the cats will let me climb up, calling, "Yes, Mother!" and start running off as fast as I can, which is much faster than I usually am, as I'm wearing ... breeches. I think they are rather practical, and Mother agrees, although she won't wear them.
Father says that they don't look right on a woman, but he's an expert on magic mirrors, not women, so that leads to the question: does that really matter?
I honestly don't know. "Yes? What is it, Mother?" I ask. She's standing in the doorway, looking as obstinate as usual. Miss Eliza is winding around her feet, while Trouble is attempting to fish a little of whatever it is that she has in the earthenware bowl that she's holding.
"Lili. King Mendanbar has sent a few delagates to meet those from the remaining kingdoms in order to discuss this broblem at hand." She takes a deep breath as if she doesn't like what she's going to say next.
"It has been decided that all the kingdoms will send one person on a quest to discover the root of the problem. Everyone decided that anyone who wanted to go on the quest had to simply put their name in a hat, goblet, or whatever. Everyone except for Mendanbar. He wanted to pick out who was to go on the quest himself.
"He wanted Shiara or Daystar to go, but with Shiara's baby on the way ... they both refused." I open my mouth to speak, but Mother keeps plowing on. "So, Mendanbar wants you to go." This news shocks me like a china plate smashed over my head; which has in fact happened to me before.
"I don't want you to go, but Mendanbar asked me to tell you that ... it is now your choice."
"Are you really going to let me decide?" I ask hopefully. "Yes," Mother says bravely, but I now it's hurting her. "Have you told Father?" I ask. "Yes, but he didn't want you to go." She sighs a little sadly. "And it took almost an hour to convince him," she adds ruefully.
"I'm going," I say bravely. I've always wanted a chance to prove my abilities to someone other than Mother and Father. "Very well. I've already packed a bag for you, just enough to get you to King Mendanbar's palace," she says, nodding.
"And I trust you'll be taking Aspen?" she asks. "Of course! Otherwise I'm sure she wouln't talk to me for a week after my return!" Too right I would. I look down to see Aspen at my feet. But it's more likely to be a month or longer if you leave me behind. And I wouldn't help with any magic, Aspen says crossly.
"Hush! Don't be rude," I scold. Mother smiles. "I'll go grab your pack from inside. After all, there's no need to wait until tomorrow!" and with that, she disappears inside.
Well, you're plenty rude with strangers or people you don't know well. I smile ruefully at her, picking her up. Are you bringing Dagwood with you? "No! And besides, he's mother's cat."
Mother smiles, just having reappeared, both a pack and Father with her. "I wouldn't mind sending Dagwood with you," she says, a slightly impish smile on her face. "I'd bring him, but I wouldn't be able to understand him, and I doubt Aspen would translate for me all the time."
"True. Here's your pack," she says, handing the pack over and hugging me. "Good luck," she murmurs, pushing me over to Father. "Farewell, daughter," he says, hugging me in that awkward way of his.
As I set off, I can still hear them talking. "Do you honestly believe that she'll be alright, Morwen?" Mother gives a little disdainfull snort. "Any child I've raised, Telemain, will be extremely resourceful when on a quest. Trust me."
~Sinnara~
"Sinnara!" Mother exclaims. I slowly close my book and leave the library. "Yes?" I ask. "Listen, you know the whole business about who should go on the quest?" I nod slowly. Where is she heading with this conversation?
"Well, even if I randomly draw a name out, they still think that someone is cheating. So, the only solution that I can come up with, is to send you on the quest," she says, grinning toothily, as if rather pleased with herself.
"Mother!" I exclaim. "I can't!" She frowns. "Why ever not?" I take a deep breath, hoping to steady myself.
"Well, I'm not good at such physical exertions such as that. I'm much better at things which I can apply my studies to."
"Exactly. I find that quests usually turn out with better results when learned scholars come along," she says pleasantly. "That is, all except Telemain," she adds bitterly.
"But why send me on the quest?"
"Because I trust you more than any of my other children, and I'm the King of the Dragons, so how could anyone argue with you then?"
I sigh, and resign myself to this sad fact. "Very well, Mother. I'll do what you say."
"Excellent. I'll try to borrow Balimore's Cauldron of Plenty ... no, that would be too difficult. I guess when it'll come to food, it'll be every dragon -- or puny human -- for themself."
I think Treabair is still figuring out his magic. Also, he doesn't really live with anyone, just by himself in the servant's quarters. Also- he's a stable boy, so kind of has a connection with horses, if that's okay with everyone.
I am really sorry that I can't post tonight. I will do it the first chance I get tomorrow.
Treabair~
"You'd
better get up, Trea. The sun'll be rising soon,"
Meallán, a fellow
stable boy, calls from somewhere to my right. I groan and rub my sore back;
yesterday was spent picking all of the horses' hooves. All that bending over
isn't good on the spine. "Coming," I grunt half-heartedly as I heave
myself up. There isn't time to bathe, and I can't afford to be late again, so I
end up just putting on a much-too-big tunic and cotton trousers. I tie a strip
of leather around my waist to keep the shirt from flapping up in the wind, and
tuck my knife into my belt for good measure. Then, it's off to the stables to
start the day.
A
few of the boys are already there. They seem to be more talkative today,
probably because of some new princess arriving in the kingdom, or a pretty girl
who had just started working in the castle. I sigh and remember the last time
a girl had stopped by the stables. Orran, one of the younger boys who was
convinced that he was destined to be a great magician, had almost turned the poor
young woman into a toad! The barn had smelled like swamp water for weeks. I am
not anxious to try that again, so I tap Meallán on
the shoulder and ask, "What's all this fuss about?"
"Haven't
you heard?" he asks. "All of the remaining kingdoms are sending one
person on a quest to find out what's going on."
I'm
relieved and worried at the same time. Every single man, woman, and child
living in Linderwall is constantly under the threat of being killed or orphaned
by this unknown menace. Entire kingdoms are being destroyed overnight. It's
about time we did something. On the other hand, who will they send?
"I've
already entered," Orran brags. "They'll obviously choose me to go on
the quest, assuming they know about my magnificent magical skills."
"Orran,
you can't even light a candle magically without burning down half the
barn," I say with a lopsided smile. His face turns beet red and he
starts rattling on about how it didn't burn down, it just got a little
scorched. I turn and walk away, still grinning victoriously. I'd better get to
work, or else I'll be in trouble for the third time this week.
As
I pile hay into a trough for a horse we call Birdbrain, I think about
what
Meallán said. A quest would be a huge honor for
a servant boy like me. And if Orran entered, so could I. When I get any spare
time, I'll have to ask around, find out more about how to enter. Because, if
it's true that I even have a chance of going on such a huge journey like this,
there's no way I'll turn that chance down.
Once
we've fed and watered all the horses, I catch
Meallán by Birdbrain's
stall, feeding the old mare a carrot. "Hey, you didn't enter your name for
the quest by any chance, did you?"
"Oh
no, of course not. I don't have the guts to do that sort of thing. I did see
Tuile put his name in the goblet, though."
"You
did?" I ask, happy to be getting somewhere. "Wait, what goblet? What
do I have to do to enter?"
He
looks at me strangely. "All you have to do is write your name on something
and put it in the cup. It's in the gardens, right in the middle by the cherry
tree orchard. I supposed someone will draw out a name randomly, and that will
be the person who goes on the quest. For our sake I hope they don't pick Orran,
but Tuile would be a good boy for the job. Why? Are you thinking about
entering?"
I
nod, already walking towards the west of the castle, where the gardens are
located. "Wish me luck!" I tease, looking over my shoulder.
Meallán waves me
away, a smile on his face. I've got to get chosen. I have to go on this quest.
~~~~~

Gah! My internet last night went off right as I was finishing. Anyways, Meallán is
pronounced mm-yell-on, and Orran is pronounced almost like it looks, ore-in.
I'm getting all these names from an Irish baby name website, so they sound a
little funny.
