Evernaught City RP

You never meant to move here. Beneath the facade of the bustling work city you live in, there lies a plague: a plague of crime. In the stone labyrinth that is Evernaught city, five vigilantes have risen up to take on the crime.

The vigilantes don't have superpowers, aren't even all perfect. They wear masks. They have code names. They fight crime. The similarities to superheroes stop there.

Seven people can join. The positions are:

5 vigilantes

2 main villains

RULES:

No superpowers under any circumstances.

No OPness or impossile tech (like invisibility cloaks, none of that).

Name: Willomena Zora Bartholomew

Name as a "superhero": Will o' Wisp

I practice knocking myself out, if all else fails, if they try to do ANYTHING to me. I'll knock myself out. I just can't do this! I'm 11! The only tool I have is martial arts. ARGH! "I'm so stupid!" I menatlly punch myself. "Yeah you are pretty stupid." A dark cool voice answers me. Did I seriosly say that outloud!?!? The voice continues. "But then again, anyone is stupid compared to me. Girl, you know, I can do away with you as soon as you try something against us." I shiver in the... what ever it is that I'm trapped in. I hope it won't come to that. I foucus on my- my hairclip! It's gone! Nonononononononononono! Where is it? Ever since the first time, I've been super cautious and even added a secret compartmet with venom for EXTREME cases. "I am going to die." I say acidentaly, panicing. "That's right, as soon as we get what we want, we won't be needing you...." Suddenly my fear gives in to anger at who ever is speaking to me like that. It's just to much! I force my way out of the bag. "You will never get what you want from me!" And then I knock myself out.The second before my mind goes blank, I hear the voice again. "Oh sweetie, I wouldn't count on it"

Uuurgh. Again, I won't be able to post until Friday. My mom has suddenly gotten super strict about computer rules. I give you all permission for something to happen to my character, as long as she doesn't die. Please keep this thread alive. I shall be back.

Okay, before anyone posts, Take back that I burst out of the bag and knocked myself out. Sometimes I go a bit crazy when typing and do things that my characters wouldn't do.

Sorry it's long, guys! I haven't posted for SO long!

Zandibar~

Will's voice sounds crackly and strange over the walkie-talkie,

"Follow me to these coordinates." I shake my head, though I know Willomena can't see me. I really have to find Saana. And it sounds like there's nothing we can do for the poor kid.

"Sorry, Will'o'wisp. I should keep going, to get Saana. I'll meet you at those coordinates in about one hour, ok? If I'm not there, you know where to find me."

"Affirmed, Skylock. Be careful out there."

"You too, Will'o'wisp. Skylock out."

"Will'o'wisp over and out."

I clip the walkie-talkie back to my belt, then keep running towards where Saana's tracker is telling me to go. The message leads me to a small, unassuming building right in the middle of the worst part of town. Naturally. I quickly pick the lock on the door and let myself in. The inside is as unassuming as the outside, it could be any office building. Except no office ever had books called Crime for profit and pleasure,and Top ten mistakes no criminal should ever make. There's even one called The Unforgivable; how to relieve guilt after murder. I shake my head and roll my eyes, then tell myself to stay on task. The tracker is telling me to go through the wall. What...? Oh! The bookcase! Oldest trick in the book. Puns.

I let my hands brush over the books, looking for the false one. I feel a slight click on a medium sized, brown volume with no visible title. I pull it and it swings back. Another tug and the whole bookcase slides to the side, revealing a dark hole in the ground, with a slender metal ladder leading down. How fancy. I step onto the ladder and my weight somehow triggers the bookcase to slide silently back into place, leaving me in darkness. No matter. I feel my way down the ladder and onto the floor. After consulting the tracker I go straight forward until I reach a closed door and slowly open, readying my tranquelizer gun.

Saana, sleeping on the floor inside, jerks awake when she hears my footsteps.

"Skylock!" then she composes herself, remarking in her usual snide way, "I thought you forgot all about me. What a pity you didn't."

I smile in an obviosly fake way, "Hey, Saana. Long time no see," then I drop the smile and add, "come on. It's time to go." She glances at my gun and pouts exaduratedly.

"Why, Skylock, where's the trust? I thought we were friends!" she says mockingly.

"Get up Saana! Stop wasting time!" I say angrily. She sighs and slowly gets to her feet,

"Testy as usual, Skylock."

"Just be quiet."

"Yes, bossy. Oh, sorry, did I speak?"

"Shut up Saana!" We walk in silence until we reach the foot of the ladder.

"By the way, Skylock, it may interest you that there's another prisoner here. A girl by the name of Gem."

"What! Saana, why on earth didn't you tell me?"

"Well, as I seem to recall, somebody just told me to shut up. How could I know that obeying would irritate you so much?" I choose to ignore that. Saana knows just how to press my buttons.

"Where is she?" I follow Saana to another door. I go inside and raise my tranquilizer. The only thing I see is a large black bag on the floor. I open it and Gem flops out. Unconscious. I raise her onto my shoulders and lift her into a fireman's carry. She's limp and quite heavy. I sway under her, but stay upright, staggering after Saana to the ladder. Saana goes up first and I lift Gem so that Saana can grab her arms. We akwardly clamber up the ladder and have hefted the still unresponsive Gem up when I feel a hand on my shoulder, pulling me back.

"SAANA! HELP!" I scream, until a hand claps over my mouth.

"Well, hello, Skylock. Fancy seeing you here, in my humble home. To what do I owe the pleasure?"

I grab my gun and fire it over my shoulder, but something slaps the gun out of my hand. I missed. I bite down on the hand and scream, "SAAAANA!" Somebody curses and slams my head into a wall. The world falls, then goes black.

I jerk awake. What? No way. I see a superhero unconcious on the ground. I see two dark figures, laughing over it. No! NOO! I become furious. Who are they that they have right to kiddnap people and- Just NO okay?! I slowly and silently  sneak up behind them and am about to take a flying leap when someone grabs me. I spin around, another villan, a guys this time forces my arms behind me. "You forgot this one!" He calls out to the others, I kick him as hard as I can and start scaling the wall. I search for an air vent. There! Quickly I pry it open and then- all of a sudden I feel a shap pain on my leg. I cry out in pain as the snake sinks it's dager-like teeth into my skin. And I'm falling... Falling... falling

Rex

~

Finally. Time to finish what I started.

I hold up a knife, almost carelessly, letting the blade gleam in the dim light. "Gem. What's up?" I ask casually.

"Rex," she spits.

"How nice. We're on a first name basis," I say.

"You'll never learn my real name," she blurts. Then her hand jerks at her restraints, as if she's trying to cover her mouth.

"Never? I wouldn't be sure about that, Gemma." I calmly polish the knife with my coat sleeve. She goes very pale. I guess she's another of the common breed: desperate to be a hero, really terrified, when you get past the layer of bravado. "Tell me what you know about the vigilantes, Gemma."

"You can do whatever you want, I won't tell!" she yells. Maybe I'll have to work harder to crack the layer of false confidence on this kid. Nice. I like a challenge.

"I can do whatever I want?" I repeat slowly. I smile as I unsheath my other knife. "Thank you... This will be fun."

Lovin this! @Zeus, I finally read the first Micheal Vey book and put the next 4 on hold!

~Gem

How- What-!!!!!! WHYDOESHEKNOWMYNAME!!!! I glance at the sharp blade and will myself not to start screaming. IMGONNADIEBECAUSEICAN'TMOVE! The blade comes closer. FOCUSGEM!!!! And closer. BREATH! It's just shy of my skin. I'm suddenly hit with inspiration, well sort of. Look, I'm despreate, I've got to do something. Even if that something is stupid. So I close my eyes, inhale sharply, and hold my breath. And I'm sucked into a vortex of darkness.

Kay guys, if you don't know what Gem just did, she passed out so that she can't feel anything and/or speak.

Rex

~

I study Gem. By now, her face is bruised and bloodied, and her hair is sticking up from her head at odd angles, matted with sweat. But I still haven't gotten anything out of her.

How can she just pass out like that? We were very careful to hide our store of chloroform in anticipation of this very problem. It doesn't seem fair that this always happens to me, of all the villains. The youngest, the only boy. The one trying to prove himself.

I've been a villain for five years. I'm good at it. I'll do what it takes to survive. But Skylar and Shaia have been doing this longer, and they somehow always make me feel like a little kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

It occurs to me that I'm the only boy in the entire vigilante-villain chain. Or at least among the best heroes and villains, the ones that really matter.

It sometimes gets awkward, actually. Of course, I'm not sexist – my best friend was a girl, and the girls around me are insanely deadly – but wrestling with the vigilantes kind of feels wrong. Like I'm going to get detention for hitting a girl, or something.

Not that I really care. If I didn't hit them, I'd get completely beaten up.

I prefer being the one on top. I smile grimly, watching a drop of blood trickle down Gem's face. We will get what we want out of her, no matter what it takes.

Oh, sorry I didn't post! Where am I? With all the others? Okay! So in that place is Gem, Rex, Skylar, Saana, Zandibar, and Shaia?

~Shaia

I walk out of my room, nice and composed. Can't let anyone see I've been letting out my emotions in my private, soundproof room, can I? I walk toward where all the noise is, and into the room, making myself sigh with disgust, "Really, Rex, all of them unconcious? Now, how will we get the precious information out of them, huh?"

I arch my eyebrows, looking at him as he grows uncomfortable. Skylar follows me in, and clucks her tongue, observing them, "So we forgot a little tracker, huh? No problem."

She takes out her tools, and in no time, she takes away all their ways of communication. Ebony slithers back onto my wrist, and I look down at her, smiling, "Oh, so my little snake has done her job, hasn't she?"

I look at the girl, Gem, who was bitten, and sigh. What a shame she had to die so soon. I would have enjoyed getting more information out of her, first. She's sprawled out on the floor, and I feel a twinge in my heart that I quickly dismiss. It's happened before, but... oh, well. I suppose I have to get over it to be an actual villian. If I could, I'd get rid of that heart quick as a flash.

I tie them all up with my black rope, extra strong and layered with poison, not enough to kill, but enough to cause pain... severe pain... when I want it to, of course. I tie them to the wall, and watch them, tapping my foot. "Haven't you got any way to wake them up?" Skylar asks.

I think for a moment, then walk over to Gem, the traitor, and insert a needle into her exposed skin. She spasms a few time, and her eyelids flutter open, her face full of pain, "What are you doing to me?!" she screams, and kicks out.

"Easy, little girl, easy," I smirk. "I assure you, it will take a long time, and be painful, darling."

She growls, and Skylar looks at me, laughing. "Looks like this little chick is quite fierce, huh? Too bad it won't do her any good!"

I nod, "Yes, such a pity," and sigh mockingly.

We laugh together, as I awaken the other two, with a warning, "If you fall unconcious again, little chickedee, the concequences will be much, much worse. Much worse... Gemma, much worse."

She goes pale again, obviously wondering how we all know her real name. Oh, how little that darling chickedee knows. We villians know everything... and it isn't always pleasant. Oh, my little chickedee, life isn't always pleasant. And you'll learn that... soon enough. I laugh and turn to her again, stroking my snakes. She's already been bitten- she'll die soon enough. But before that happens... she'll have a taste of how bitter life can really be.

~~~
I was thinking that Will o Wisp could find the cure and cure Gem just in time, just before she's about to die, and save her, then gather forces to defeat the villians.
I can't stand NEEDLES!!! ARGH!!! I force myself to not look at it. OWOWOWOWOWOWOOW!!!!!! I wish I coud just pass out but, OWW! I can't. and I can't tell either unless, *starts hyperventalating* I give them false information. But they'll probably figure it out. I close my eyes. And how do they know my name? I didn't know until I turned 11, which was only a month ago! Iwas named after... after... I-I can't remember. What's happening to me, I-
Kay guys, I need you people to brainstorm. Where did Gem get her name from, and what made that person significant?
Willomena-
Subject Gamma. Gemma.
It made sense.
Will's walked-talkie crackled; there were shouts, screams. Skylock!
Will cursed and dashed through the streets, following Saana's tracker.
She found an old building and climbed in.
What she saw, she was unprepared for.
Gem lay on the floor, poisoned. Sklock was tied, kicking under the tight ropes.
Will readied her antivenoms and threw a smoke bomb. She ran and untied Skylock, who jumped to her feet.
"Go deal with some villains while I help Gem," I whisper. She nodded, steadying herself. IWill heard shouts.
Will gave the antivenin to Gem before turning back to the fog. Two figures remained in the mist, one feminine, one masculine.
Saana-?
Rex, the male, lunged, shoving Will aside and grabbing Gem by the neck. Will yelled and, desperate, grabbed Saana, wrapping her arms around Saana's throat.
The two faced each other. Will was defeated; she had reacted too quickly, he wouldn't care about Saana-
"Don't kill her!"
Will was shocked, but pleased.
A bargain.
"Give me Gem, and Saana here is yours."
Rex nods, curt yet frantic. Will waited until he released Gem and threw Saana at him.
Will grabbed Gem,sent Skylock a signal through the Wilkie-talkies, and ran off.
