Brainwashed?? RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Brainwashed?? RP

Brainwashed?? RP

Okay, so when this RP pops up, your first thoughts may be that this RP is kind of weird. And the plot might be slightly confusing, but it'll definently develop as we go along, so please join!

So here's the plot:

One day you wake up in a white room on a white bed staring at a white ceiling. You look around and see you are in a white uniform of some sort, and you're just lying there. When you think about it, you can't remember why you're there or what's happening. You then realize that you don't even know who you are. You get up and look around for a mirror, but there isn't one. However, the walls are so clean that you can see your reflection, but you can't remember who you are.

Later on someone, in a suit, comes to fetch you. You just follow them, unknowing what is happening. You want to ask them, but you're too shocked to even talk.

You end up looking over a balcony at a huge white center where the ceiling is tall, and there are other people like you beneath. The man in the suit leaves you, and you walk down the stairs and to the area below. There you sit at a table where other people like you are trying to come to their senses. You notice that some people at another table that have arrived before you are trying to give each other names, so you start to do the same at your own table.

Basically, in this RP, you try to find out who you are, why these people took you, and you make friends along the way.

Here's the charrie sheet-

Name: ???? What do you call yourself???? (I would go with non-specific names. This is, in a way, your nickname, because you don't know your actual name)

Age: ???? How old do you look???? (You look between 14-18 years)

Gender:

Appearance:

I'll fill mine out:

Name: I don't know, but I'll call myself Wren (like the bird)

Age: 14

Gender: F

Appearance: Shoulder-length light and curly blonde hair, pale skin, freckles, and big blue-green eyes. Her movements are quick, and she has excellent hearing, sight, and observation skills. She wears the white uniform, she's about 5"5, she's slim, and she looks fragile and sensitive, even though she's actually stronger than she looks.

Please join! Thank you! We'll start when we have 5-10 people, and others can totally join throughout the RP!

Queen~

I'm really starting to freak out. All these people, these chesspiece people, they have powers. Knight has super strength and telepathy, Rook can move faster than the speed of light. I have invisibility. If I'm going to have a defence, I think that also having an offence is a good idea.

Then I get an idea.

Knight! I exclaim.

What? he asks.

Is there any way you could call names and tell them where to meet?

What are you saying? he asks.

What I'm saying, I continue. Is that there are other people in this ChessPiece Program, and I don't know their names, but if you know the pieces of a chess board, then maybe you can call the others to meet in the Gathering Hall!

He catches on, and keeps me in his head while he calls the others.

Um...So you're Queen...let's try King. King!

What the heck is going on? I hear King's voice shout.

King, go to the Gathering Hall, Knight says.

What is going on? Why?

Just do it! I intervene.

Who are you? he asks.

Look, I'm Queen, and the other voice is Knight, who controls this telepathy. Please do what we say, it's important.

Fine, King says.

Good. Now for another.

Would there be a Pawn? Knight asks.

Try it, I reply.

Pawn! Knight yells.

There's a small gasp. Y-yes?

Oh gosh, she must be the young one.

Hey Pawn, I say gently. Can you do something for us? We're talking to you through telepathy, my friend and I.

Pawn hesitates. What is it?

We need you to go to the Gathering Hall, Knight says. Can you do that?

Another pause. Okay.

Good. Queen, what are those little castles called?

What? I ask Knight.

Ya know, the ones that can move forward and back and-

Oh! I exclaim. The Rook!

Let's try it, he says. Rook!

What?! a voice asks, startled. Rook.

Go to the Gathering Hall and we'll explain everything, Knight responds.

Rook doesn't question it, but instead she tunes out and follows what Knight said.

Queen, meet me there too, Knight tells me.

Okay, I reply, running downstairs.

Before long, I arrive, and go to the center where all of us stand in a circle.

Everyone from the experiment.

"Why are we here," the blonde boy, King, asks.

"Yeah, I want to know that too," the little girl, Pawn, chirps.

"Because we're all a part of the ChessPiece Program," Knight responds. He turns towards me. "Take it away, Queen."

I take a deep breath and look at everyone. "First off, your names are King, Knight, Rook, and Pawn for a reason. As you may know, I am Queen. I had a flashback, and they had us in a seperate room from everybody else, injecting us with serums that I'm guessing fit our DNA. King," I say, glancing at him. "Was fighting the man who injected him, and when he did, King in turn injected the man himself. The man died quickly, and I'm guessing it's becasue the serum was too much for him."

"The rest of you," I continue. "Also fought. Pawn, you were overpowered, so you screamed, and Knight, there had to be several guards that restrained you. Rook, guards also restrained you."

She looks pleased.

"But I got a chance to ask the new man questions, and in his own fault, he answered them. We were all specially chosen, and we all have at least two abilities that will keep us alive but also advance the way we live. So far, we have different powers. State what power you have."

"I have super strength and telepathy," Knight replies without hesitation. "The second power is how I got you all here."

"So far, I have super speed," Rook says. "I don't know what my second one is yet."

Pawn looks up shyly. "I screamed and I killed somebody."

We all look at her in shock.

"Wait, what?" Knight asks.

"Yeah!" Pawn chirps. "A guard pointed his weapon at me, and I screamed at him, and he went through the glass and down the balcony."

"Will that happen to us?" King mutters.

"There's the other thing," I reply. "I don't think we can harm each other with our own powers. I mean, I can turn invisible, and I'll still be invisible to you guys. But I have a feeling that we all have an offencive and defencive power, so the offencive power can't hurt the others. Rook," I say, turning to her. "I believe that you and I only have our defencive powers, and our offencive ones are still to come."

She nods her head slowly, intaking the information.

I turn to Pawn. "You have your offencive power, but you still need to have your defencive one. Although I'm sure the screaming will in turn serve as both."

We all laugh.

Knight turns to King. "What about you?"

King looks up. "Me?"

Knight nods.

"Well, I overheard guards this morning saying that my powers will be mental, not physical."

"You'll be super smart," Rook says.

King shrugs. "I'm not sure. But they basically dissed me by saying that the King was the weakest piece on the board."

"But without the King, there is no board," I reply. "I'm guessing that we're a part of a bigger picture, and you might be a leader. They told me in the flashback that our names also determine our ranks."

"Sorry Pawn," Rook says.

Pawn laughs. "It's okay. I don't want to be in charge of this."

"But that's weird," Rook says. "We're all about fourteen, fifteen, and sixteen. But you're, like, what, eleven? ten?"

"I'm going to go for eleven," she says, holding her chin higher. "If I'm this young and in the CPP, there must be a reason."

"Probably because all of the elevens failed before," King mutters.

"What are you saying?" I ask.

"I'm saying, the serum worked on older and stronger kids. And the younger ones...well...."

Pawn looks alarmed, so Rook nervously laughs and pats Pawn on the shoulder. "Don't worry, that means you were stronger than the rest."

I nod quickly and continue but change the subject. "So what are your respective ages?"

"Fourteen," Rook says.

"Fifteen," Knight replies.

"Sixteen? Yeah, I think sixteen," Knight responds.

"You all know," Pawn laughs.

"Fifteen," I say. "So now we know that somebody is using teens and children for this game-"

But I'm cut off as an announcement comes on.

"ALL STUDENTS REPORT TO THE ARENA FOR THE DAILY FIGHT. TWO STUDENTS, ONE FROM THIS INSTITUTION AND ONE FROM THE OTHER WILL BE CHOSEN TO FIGHT TODAY. PLEASE REPORT TO THE ARENA IMMEDIATLEY."

We all nod at each other, and Knight announces, "Let's meet back here later. I'll call it."

We nod again, and exit the Hall.

I'm sorry if that was too long, but please feel free to write this or some of it from your own charrie's perspective also.

Great writing piece! Although, I feel like there'll be more Chesspiece Children, even if they remain undiscovered. Porbably a Bishop and a few more Pawns, and there may also be doubles of Knights and Rooks, as there are in a real chessgame. I'll ost later (homework).

Maybe I can do bishop?

Name: Bishop

Age: 14

Gender: Female

Appearance: Short, skinny, athletic, long dark brown hair that goes over one eye, amber eyes, has a tattoo of a bishop on her elbow, for some reason has a red v-neck t-shirt underneath her uniform.

Elena says tfez.  Are you talking about a CERTAIN PERSON HERE'S fez?

Rook~

I am absolutely terrified of what the Aren might hold. After watching Wren die, I feel as though no one is safe.

I walk out of the room next to Pawn, a cute little girl that reminds me of my sister from the memories. She's not the same, of course- my little 'sis was probably somewhere 7-9, and her eyes were darker. Still, the optimism and bounciness are the same. Why, Pawn practically bounds down the hallway. I wonder why anyone would do this to us. Take our memories, force us to kill one another. It's all pretty sick and wrong.

And the 'superpowers' part? That's just weird

King-

Queen is absolutely stunning.  Beautiful. Pretty. Alluring. Lovely. Charming.

I can go on.

I'm not sure where I get these words. I just know that, for some reason, I think Queen is hot.

Is this what love feels like?

Knight-

I walk out of the room alongside Queen. While I guess I should be talking to her like the nice, extroverted person that I am, I find myself watching Rook as she leaves. Man, she's fierce. And kind of sweet.

"Knight?" Asks Queen, "Hellooooo."

"I'm back," I say, "No need to holler."

"You were looking at that Rook girl, weren't you?"

"No."

Queen giggles.

"Yes you were!" She exclaims

"Well, not nearly as much as King was goggling you. Do you like him?"

She begins to twist a stray piece of her hair around her finger.

"Who's asking?"

Queen~

"I'm asking," Knight says, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh shut up!" I say, pushing him towards the door.

We walk past guards that narrow their eyes at us, and we turn serious. We walk through the another hallway, this time behind the rest of the group, when I hear a bundle of screams coming from a classroom.

I find myself walking towards it, Knight following me and trying to convince me to continue to walk forward.

But the screams draw nearer, and I discover a small door to a classroom that reads, "Draining."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Knight asks.

My brow furrows, and I think about Knight's question.

Peering through the small door, several teens sit in chairs that have head orbs that attach on them.

"What are they doing?" I whisper.

Suddenly the door clicks, and Knight and I rush down the hallway, bolting for the Arena without hesitation.

"Draining of what? Strength?" Knight asks. "I saw them looking weak afterward, but they seemed to have no emotion on their faces, and-"

"Draining of emotion!" I silently exclaim.

We look at each other wide-eyed and promise not to say anything until it's time.

Arriving at the Arena, we go into the last row of children and wait for the people to be picked.

The same woman chooses again.

She goes to the Second Institution's rows, and chooses a girl. But she's about 18, strong, tall, and has a face that makes people shrivel up. Half of her head is shaved, the other half growing to down her back.

I have the worst feeling in my gut that's it's going to be me.

And I guess my instincts are correct.

The trainer look directly at me and nods her head, as a guard shoves me towards the front.

My face heats, and everyone's ushered out of the room. I catch eye contact with Knight and he nods his head before we head out into another room to get ready.

Knight-

Queen's been chosen.

And she's fighting an 18-year-old.

Lordie.

Please, Queen. Make it out alive.

We're ushered into a seating arrangment in a place I suppose must be The Arena. I watch as Queen and the other girl are dragged into The Arena's center, and they're told something by the guards who've taken them.

The battle will start in a few moments.

Please, Queen. Make it out alive.

Please.

Queen~

The Arena. Something that I thought I would never have to walk into.

But I do, and something similar to the Sun glares down at us. But I know they would never risk exposing us to the real air, the real world. It's too risky. The smarter of us would figure it out.

I look forward, and roars go up in the air.

The girl, who was called Spike (oh goodness) glares at me, and she smirks at me as if I am beneath her.

I shudder to myself but stand up straight and walk towards her.

She charges, and swings her fist at me. I go flying through the air and land flat on my back.

She towers over me, but I turn invisible and roll over just as she slams her fist into the ground.

She whips around confused, and I appear behind her, smiling and waving my hand.

She growls and attempts to go for a side kick before I dodge and dissapear again. She yells in frustration, and I laugh to myself before appearing again ten feet away.

She shouts and runs straight for me. I turn invisible once again, and appear to the side. But how am I going to end this? This can't go on forever. But I can't overpower her with the strength I have.

Oh, how an offence would help so much right now!

But wait. I can still knock her out and then kill her, but I would just have t-

Suddenly she slams her fist into my stomach without me even execting it.

I crash to the ground, and I back up, using my hands to crawl back.

But she stands with a smirk on her face. While she delivers the final blow, I hold my hands in front oh my face, and suddenly she can't move.

There's a wall that she can't see but there is an outline of. I mean, I can see it. But she blunders about like an idiot.

I somehow control it and wrap it around her neck.

I didn't even know a force feild could choke somebody.

But I press it on her pressure point, and she passes out quickly.

Okay, how do I kill somebody? I don't want to, but I have to. The Queen always kills.

I take a deep breath finish her off.

There's a stunned silence in the crowd, before some errupt into cheers and others scream about how it wasn't a fair fight.

Get in my way again, and things really won't be fair.

The guards appear behind me and grab my arms, forcing me out of the Arena.

After what seems like forever, I'm taken to my room, where there are bunks made and everything is clean again.

"You're staying here for the time being," one of them guffly barks. "While we deal with the Second Institution."

Like that's happening, I think to myself.

They walk out, and I laugh at how stupid they are.

Queen?! Knight's voice errupts in my head.

Yes?

We're all downstairs, but we had to pick the Recreation Room. The Gathering Hall is swarming with SI kids asking to see you.

I pause. Are you serious? Just because I took out one of your best players doesn't mean that you have to try to look for me and kill me! I can figure out a way to make a small force feild go inside of you, and if I have to, I'll expand it until-

Queen! I can hear you! You haven't tuned me out.

Oh! I think with a laugh. Sorry!

Yeah, you're starting to scare me. You're not violent, um...you're gentler.

I glare at the wall, pretending it's Knight. Well I'm not gentle, but currently I'm on an adrenaline rush.

Then use that rush to get down here with a hurry!

I roll my eyes and tune out, running out of the room and quickly jogging downstairs, making sure to cover my face, before I enter the smaller Rec Room.

The CPP Friend Club (ha) crowds around, looking at me as I enter.

Silence.

"Look, I can guarantee you guys will have to kill somebody eventually too."

Still silence, until Knight speaks up.

"Okay, well we can all agree that that was unexpected, but the Queen can make any move to kill who she wants, so-"

"So that doesn't mean anything," I interrupt. I don't want to be classified as a monster. "You'll all do it."

"I doubt it," Rook shrugs.

"I don't," King retorts.

Rook gives him a look. (lol that rhymes)

"And what evidence do you have, my King?"

They go off on each other, and Knight enters my head.

You aren't a monster.

KNIGHT! Please stop reading my thoughts!

Chill, I'm not! You just looked directly at ke when you said it, so you tuned back in.

Really? I sigh. I need to get better at that.

Maybe later, he replies. Right now let's seperate the two of them.

But it's too late. Somehow their argument progressed to Rook shoving King.

Luckily King's a gentleman and lets himself fall backwards without fighting back.

But when he does, something weird happens.

"Wait, did you guys hear that?" he asks.

"Hear what?" Rook huffs.

"The wall," he replies, looking towards it. He knocks it. "It's hollow. There has to be something behind."

"What are you saying?" Pawn asks, heading up towards him. Her small fist knocks on it. "You're right, I can hear it too!"

I tilt my head and raise an eyebrow, heading over to the wall along with Knight and Rook.

I knock on it, gasping. "Guys, there has to be an enterance somewhere."

"A secret enterance," Rook replies, catching along. She nods her head. "Let's look for it."

Pawn thinks she's no help, so she goes to the pool table and passes the pool balls back and forth through the walls. But she hits three of them in a row, heading for the same hole, and suddenly a small door appears in the corner.

We all gasp, and I head over to Pawn.

"What was the combination?"

"Combination?"

"What were the numbers of the pool balls?" I ask.

"Um..." she says, thinking. Suddenly her eyes brighten. "Five stripe, four solid, six stripe."

I remember it, and I walk with her to the door.

As soon as Pawn and I enter, it closes, and a light turns on.

"Welcome, ChessPeice Children of Tomorrow."

The automatic voice stops, and we all look at each other.

"Things just got weird," King remarks.

Knight nods and heads over to the area where there is a bigger oval-shaped table with chairs and names on the table.

"Our names," he points out.

At the head of the table there's a small name plate that says King.

At the other head it says Queen.

Then by Queen there is Knight, and Rook is by King.

Then from there, there are Bishops and a few Pawns. But that confuses me. How did this room get here?

I walk over to a small table by the big desk and notice files on it.

Opening them up, I notice pictures of other people, people that seemed to have been here before. They have similar tattoos, but the pictures have older dates and they are listed as not having enhancements.

But as I read on, the shock builds more and more.

"Guys," I say.

I take the file and walk over to the big table, taking my seat. The others also do so.

I slide the file down, and tell them.

"There were others before us, but they found a way out, and the Institution killed them. They didn't leave any notes behind, because they were discovered too quickly, but we're the newer generation. We're this Institution's crown. But here's the problem-this Institution? It's the government. And I think they might be planning to use us."

submitted by Killim
(May 1, 2017 - 7:59 pm)

King-

"Everything makes sense," I say, "This must be some kind of government project. They're using children as weapons. Those serums they've been giving everyone are making us stronger, faster, and-" My voice shakes, "And more violent."

The boy called Knight looks horribly uncomfortable, as does Queen. Man, she's beautiful.

"Anyways," I continue, "As Queen said, we must be the head of it. The government must be trying to use us to lead their child armies. And the serums they're using on us- they're having different affects."

I turn to Queen.

"Offensive, Force Fields. Defensive, Invisibility."

I look at Knight.

"Offensive, Super Strength. Defensive, Telekineses."

I point at Rook.

"Offensive, Unknown. Defensive, Super Speed."

The to the whole group.

"Guys, we're all developing strange abilities. We react differently to the serums. That must be one of the reasons we're in this army. But that's also the reason we remember things. It's because we are the kids that stand outside of the statistical norm. We are the smart ones, the artistic ones, the problem solvers. We think outside of the box. All of those things make us perfect soldiers. They also make it easier for us to escape."

Rook~

I've kinda zoned out during King's spiel- what, it's boring! I'm messing with the table, dragging my nail in the cracks and the crevices. Suddenly, a screen and a keyboard seemingly pop out of nowhere.

"Woah!" Says Pawn, rushing towards me, "What did you do?"

"I don't know," I say. Everyone else gathers around, too. It looks like King's finally finished his speech.

"How does it work?" Asks Pawn.

"I don't know," I say, again. The screen is dark, except for a small box in it's center that's glowing proudly.

Please Insert the Password, a mechanical voice says.

"Password?" I wonder outloud.

"What could that be?" Knight says

"Try 544328970002," Says Pawn. With nothing else better to do, I type them in and hit Enter. Suddenly, the screen lights up.

"How did you know that?" I ask in shock. Judging by the looks of the others, they're wondering the same thing. Pawn shrugs.

"I dunno."

"Can you repeat it again?"

"Sure. 5443289-"

"Stop! We get it."

Then we explore the net.

Queen~

The automatic voice turns on, but this time it comes from the computer.

"Welcome, Rook. Please activate the window."

"Window?" she asks.

"Please activate the window," the voice repeats.

"Try pressiiiing...that," Pawn suggests.

Rook does, and all of the sudden files pop up.

I hear Knight exclaim from behind me.

"Guys, we all have our own computers," he says.

I hesitantly walk over to my spot, and pull out the slot beneath that uncovers it.

"Now what?" Rook asks.

"We can look up the layout of the building?" King suggests.

We all get working and investigate it on our computers, and I have a sidebar conversation with Knight.

"These computers must have been set up by the first generation," I say.

Knight nods. "Yeah. But how did they die, and why didn't they get out?"

"Looks like we're about to find out," I reply.
