Hey! I'm looking

Hey! I'm looking to start a writing contest. Since this is a writing contest, there will not be a charrie sheet. You will make up as many characters as you want as you go along. Join whenever, I guess! Anyway, it can be any genre of story. Have fun with this! There are no rules, just have fun!

I sprint down the street.  I'm dead.  I can't run for much longer, and I can't run into the woods -- they're full of dangers.  Soon the street will fade out and I'll be in the woods.

But then I think.  Red's gone into the woods before.  Jack used to LIVE in the woods. . .  Who says I can't escape to there, Just for a little bit?  Mother and Father won't mind.

I risk a glance backward, and see him.  His footsteps are pounding in my ears, getting louder each time.  His eyes are small and cruel.  His short, jet-black hair is slicked back, like it has been dipped in river water.  He glares at me with his angry eyes and I try to run faster.

"You wouldn't," He growls as I come to a stop in front of the woods.  "You know what's happened in those woods.  They're full of countless dangers that a child such as yourself could never handle."

"Really?" I ask him.  "My sister used to go into the woods every week and come out safe.  My brother used to live in the wods.  I'm sure I could handle what's in there.  Red and Jack did when they were my age."

A bead of sweat manifests on my forehead.  I'm only twelve!  Jack was fourteen!  Red was thirteen!  I start to doubt myself as I turn and run into the woods.

Here's an entry!  Sorry I didn't name it at the start, but I think I'll name it "David and Goliath" because it's based off that story, but with some other characters thrown in.  I do agree that there isn't much character depth in it, but that's because it's a fanfiction-type-thing for the movie "Into the Woods."  If you've heard of it, great!  If you haven't, watch it!
