Undertale New Generation

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Undertale New Generation

Undertale New Generation RP

Based off of an internet community.

Many years later, after a peculiar timeline, the barrier still has not broken, and the monsters have been anxious. By now, a new generation has been born. Yet, another human falls down, and different monsters handle it differently.

Basically, you can make a kid or just create a whole new monster in general.

Rules:

Please don't be too overpowered. Yes, you can be powerful if it's in genetics, but at least have something that holds back their abilities a bit.

Timelines exist, so even if someone already has one of the characters you wanted to have parent your kid, it could sort of work, especially for characters with full memory or control of timelines and such (ex: Frisk {who'd be an adult by now}, Sans, Flowey, ect).

Have fun, and don't be rude.

Here's a basic idea of a character sheet.

Name:

Species:

Parents: (only use if canon characters are parents)

Age:

Basic Personality:

Interests:

Dislikes:

Abilities:

Fun fact:

I'll post mine later, and will just use my own character from the community I'm basing this after.

Curio, it's fine if you use him, although unless you want to switch his timeline a bit, maybe he could be a ghost, like Chara, to help the other two humans.

Turns out Kip is too lazy to continue the Rp. So I shall in her place! And since I'm not a fan of the name Lia, I think I'll change it to Piper.

Piper~

A girl tightens her grip on a worn plastic toy gun, staring into the dark abyss in front of her. She understands the consequences of what she is about to do.

Piper is determined to save any soul still alive in that cavern. The monsters must be a cruel species to not let them out yet, but perhaps a bit of explanation and convincing will change their hearts.

She carefully looks down into the abyss. It's dark, and so far down that she can't see the bottom. Vines seem to have inhabited this place, for they crawl around the nooks of the rocks and almost swallow the entrance whole.

There's only one way down.

* * *

...Yellow. Piper's vision makes out the blurry color, which shifts in and out of her consciousness. Trying groggily to make sense of her situation, she starts to remember how she came her and quickly get up.

The yellow color came from the flowers on the ground, which were more golden in color when Piper looked at it more closely. Somehow, they eased her fall.

Piper looked around. A door was little ways away, large and ominous. Piper cautiously made her way toward it.

"Howdy!" Piper spun around. "I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower."

It was a talking flower. It sat in a small patch of grass, grinning. Piper's mind raced, wondering if he was a trick, a monster, a ghost, was she dead?

Piper immediately held her gun up in the air, hoping perhaps he might not realize it's a plastic toy. Suddenly, he stopped grinning.

"I'm not sure why I do this act anymore..." He muttered. Suddenly, pellets surrounded her. "Look here, IDIOT. How about I teach ya how things work around here!"

His face was contorted, his mouth spread wide in a giant menacing smile. "In this world, it's kill or be killed." Laughter ran across the cave. Piper frantically looked about, her eyes silently pleading. Slowly, the seeds got closer and closer and--

* * *

Piper found herself waking up once more in this unknown place. This time, however, she was in a warm bed, with nicely decorated walls and pleasant smells. She didn't have time to wonder how she got here, however, when suddenly the door opened

It was a goat. Well, actually, she looked like a goat. She was dressed in a purple dress with a small symbol on it. Her gaze was intelligent and caring, with perhaps a bit of surprise as well.

"Hello, my child." She said, with practiced tone. "I am Toriel... caretaker of the ruins.

"I'm sorry if that horrible creature scared you. But you mustn't be afraid now."

Piper gazed at the monster, still nervous. Before she could ask any questions, a pop sound reached her ears and a short figure appeared.

"heheheh. looks like the human's up." it was a grinning skeleton. He lazily stared at Piper, hunched slightly in an uncaring way.

"Sans! I told you not to do that! Especially in front of the humans. " Toriel looked back at the monster, or Sans, with a stern look. She was still smiling, though.

"whoops. sorry if i knocked you right out of your skin, kid," Sans laughed again. "oh, i should introduce myself. im sans. sans the skeleton."

Piper gawked for a moment. Monsters. She was talking to monsters and they weren't attacking back.

Corsiva~

"Come on mom, dad, I wish to see our guest."

I squeezed past my parents, peering at the fallen human. Dusty hair and pretty brown eyes. I peered closer into her soul, a bright yellow, unlike the red my father said Frisk had.

"Greetings, I'm Corsiva. What's your name?"

"P-Piper," the human stuttered, probably shocked at the sight of monsters. Especially a peculiar hybrid like what my sister, Trade, and I are.

"You must be hungry, dear child," my mom says, "would you like some pie? It's butterscotch cinnamon."

They nodded, still rather anxious.

"Here, would you like me to explain the underground to you?" I ask, sitting on the bed next to them.

"You're not going to try to kill me like that flower, are you?" They interrogate.

I laugh a bit. "Of course not. As you've probably already known, the underground is home to all monsters. Down here, we use our magic as a means of combat, defense, and even for daily uses. My father, sister, or I can demonstrate later, after you've rested, if you wish."

"Bam!" I cry, appearing in the room.  "I heard Mom say pie!  Wait, there's a human!  Hi!" I say spontaneously.  "I'm Trade Winds!  Nice to meet you!"

"Hi Trade!  Don't do that, though.  I think they might be scared of us still," Corsiva says to me.

"Dear child, don't do that again," Mom scolds.

"Sorry," I reply, glancing at the ground and kicking the floor with my bare skele-foot.

"Wh-what ARE you?" the human asks timidly.

"Half skele-dad and half goat-mom!" I say proudly pointing to my chest.  "What are you?"

"P-piper," she murmurs.

Good idea, Punzie! Thanks!

~Peter~

I'm floating around the Hotland guard station, trying to get another glimpse of Alphys, when the announcement comes through.

Instantly my mind kicks into overdrive. What am I supposed to do about all this? Will this new human be able to see me, like only Frisk, the Riverperson, and that weird goopy skeleton-ish dude whose name I can't quite remember do? Will the others want to risk a burnout to come and see?

(Oh, uh, I suppose I should explain about burnouts. The amount of time us ghosts can spend mobile, away from our SOULs, depends directly on Determination. I'm the most DT-heavy of the six of us (though we all pale in comparison to Frisk), so I can go for a few hours before it's go back or burn out. Burning out is essentially like being forcibly kicked back to your SOUL and passing out somewhere along the way, only waking up after several days' recuperation. Not a pleasant experience.

Back to the story. Whoops.)

So anyway, I poof over to the Ruins, where the Queen is laying the unconscious body of a girl in the spare bed. Sans watches, unusually quiet- what, no puns about falling? He looks in my direction, and for a moment I almost think he knows I'm here, but then his eyelights slide over me, not acknowledging me at all. Must be a coincidence.

And then again, it's happened before...

ACT --> *Fallen Human --> *Check

FALLEN HUMAN - ATK 0 DEF 0

*Justice is in her blood.

*She should wake up soon.

And on a whim:

ACT --> *Sans --> *Check

SANS - ATK 1 DEF 1

*The easiest enemy. Only has 1 HP.

*Seems suspicious of something.

A shiver runs down my nonexistent spine.

I float around watching the Queen and Sans tend to the human - well, more like the Queen tending to her and Sans sitting around watching, making a pun every so often - for a few minutes, before I feel my (also nonexistent) eyelids start to droop and a pins-and-needles sensation start up in my fingers and toes. That's possibly the only good thing about burnout: the early warning signs are pretty obvious. Reluctantly, I poof back to New Home and settle back into my SOUL, in its canister in the King's basement. I'm gonna need a few hours' shuteye if I want to be able to go roaming again once the new human wakes up.

Or a day later...

Spaghetti~

It seems that I picked a very interesting time to visit my cousins in the ruins. My dad and I have been waiting for Aunt Toriel to answer the door for about 5 minutes. I don't know whats going on, but my dad is doing the daily crossword again, and every time he gets a word he yells it out really loud. It's very distracting when I'm trying to scale the building and find a good window.

"ARACHNAPHOBIA!!!" he yells, almost making me fall off the windowsill.

"Jeez, dad are you trying to make me fall?" I ask, peering into the open window.

"SORRY, SPAGHETTI! I WILL TRY NOT TO DO IT AGAIN!"

As I look closer into the window, I see sitting on the couch next to my Aunt and Uncle someone unfamilliar. They look almost like... no. It can't be. Has the next human fallen down? Just as this thought hits me, I begin to tilt forward. I slip off the windowsill, and fall into the open window, tumbling through the air.

I sit in my bedroom, right next to the room with the fallen human, Piper, I think, in it.  I can hear noises outside as I browse my computer.

I like to research humans.  The stories of Genocide, Neutral, and Mercy all seem interesting.  It's weird how other humans would to crazy things like trying to kill everyone.

I open the window, eager to find out what the noise outside is.  It's Advent, obvoiusly, climbing the walls of the house.

I wave out the window, and call, "Hi, Advent!  Go down, I'll open the door for you guys!"  I look down and see Uncle Papyrus.  "Hi!!" I yell down to him, waving.

"Oh, hello, Winds!" He calls back up.

I quickly shut down my computer and run to the door.  I open it quickly, but Advent's not down yet.

I apologise for any charrie control!

Piper~

I sit on the couch uncomfortably. How can these monsters stand being stuck in here alone? Cramped? I hate it here...

Where are all the humans? Why aren't they here? Did they...

No. I shake my head. They couldn't have killed them. But all the same... I have heard of stories, that the monsters need our souls to get out. Are they just playing with me? Like that flower?

I'm shaken out of my thoughts when someone tumbles out of the window. I immediately get out my plastic gun and point it at him.

He's another weird hybrid. He looks dangerous.

ACT --> *Advent --> *Check

His dad had the bright idea of nicknaming him after his favorite food.

"Woah! You must be the fallen human!" His eyes dart down to the gun. "Could you maybe put the gun down?"

My eyes narrow. This might be another trick. I quickly dart around him, trying to find a weakness. He quickly faces me, alarm in his face--An easy kill. I smile with glee and bring my gun down onto him.

What? He's not... Dead? I feel foggy in the head... What happened? Suddenly, I feel a push pressed onto my stomach and I'm on the ground.

It's that skeleton. His left eye is glowing a bright blue, and he's breathing heavily. I wince and try to force him off me... He's stronger than I thought.

I look around. My plastic gun is on the ground to the left of me... The skeleton fish guy is wide-eyed, looking at me in shock.

"Oh hello, Adven...What happened?" Toriel comes out of the kitchen. Sans gets up, quicker than I thought he would.

"nothin tori." Sans grins, shrugging off the whole incident like it just happens. "just need to have a talk with... piper."

He grabs my shoulder a bit harsher than I think necessary and guides me to my room. Quietly closing the door behind us, he stares at me.

"so. kid." He lazily acknowledges me, like I'm just some mildly interesting piece of paper on the ground. "what was that all about?"

"What are you talking about?" I snap, crossing my arms.

"well, you kinda just attacked him without any warning or consent," Sans said, grinning. "you might not know this, but you aren't actually supposed to do that to people."

"How about you don't boss me around?"

"oh sorry." Sans stared at me, not looking so cheerful anymore. "well, how about you follow this one tiny request from me?"

"d o n ' t  e v e r  d o  t h a t  a g a i n," Sans spoke coldly, his eyes dark and sharp. I backed up a bit, alarmed. "i'm not as forgiving as the rest of the people here.

"capiche?" He stared at me indifferently. I nodded. He left the room as fast as we went in.

I looked at the door even after he left, thinking fearfully. What did I do? I don't even remember that moment that well anymore... This feels awfully strange. I feel so sick, and not myself.

I bet you guys can figure out what's going on. I've got a bit of an idea.

"Advent?  You up there?" I call up at the windows to see if he entered one of them.  "I guess he went in one of the windows."

"Well, we should go inside then," Uncle Papyrus says, and we walk in.

I slam the door.  "Make yourself comfortable.  I'm going to go find Advent."  I walk away to look for Advent.

The first place I check is the human's room.  The door is closed.  I crack it open just a TIIIIIIIINY bit.  Dad is in there looking at Piper, who looks shaken.  I instinctively know what to do.

[ACT] -->  [Piper]  -->  [Check]

Seems to be angry or upset after attacking.

Attacking?  Attacking who?  Advent?  Dad?  Who?

I crack open the door just a LIIIIITLE bit more.  I see Advent looking somehow shocked and scared at the same time.  Both Dad and Mom are in the room, and Dad looks extraordinarily angry at her.

Then Dad starts walking toward the door.  I hurry around the corner as he comes out.  "Um, Uncle Papyrus, you MIGHT NOT want to come into the room around the corner. . ."

"Oh, hey Paps," Dad says, and I jump.

"Insert bad pun," I say before he says anything more.  "I'm going to visit the human."

"Sans, there's a human here?  May I come visit them?"  Uncle Papyrus asks eagerly.

I throw open the door around the corner, and everyone in the room stares at me.  "Hey," I say unenthusiastically.

"Oh, you," Piper glares at me unforgivingly.

"Yes, me."

"Go away."

"Have you seen Advent?"

"Over here, Winds!"  He calls from the corner, waving his arms.

"You okay?" I ask worriedly.

Corsiva~

As I help my mother prepare dinner, I hear lots of commotion, worrying me. Mom rushes out to check on everyone, leaving me in the kitchen. Trade slides in, looking back.

"Man, dad was rather quick in pinning that human down. I wonder why they attacked  Advent."

I spun to face her, my heart rate both stopping and speeding up at the same time. "She WHAT?!"

If this was anything like the stories and timelines Dad told us when we were younger, this human may need someone to keep an eye socket on them, before they....

"Are they and Advent okay?"

Trade picks up one of the rolls mom and I just baked for dinner.

"They're both fine. Advent is just on the couch, a little shaken, but unharmed. And dad took the human in the hall to talk."

That's not exactly comforting, but I guess dad has it handled right now.

"Hey! Nerd boy! Professor Plum! Wake the flip up!"

"Uuungh...go away, Jaden..."

"I said, wake up! We've got a problem!"

"...Can't Myka or somebody handle it?"

"Myka's the one as told me to get your lazy rear out of your SOUL! We're having a meeting while Ellie and Thomas feel up to it! Get out here!"

"Fine. This had better be good."

I float myself out of my SOUL, feeling fatigue try to drag me back down, but I push through it. Jaden, or at least the tangerine orange outline of Jaden, floats next to me, looking disgruntled. As soon as I'm out he zips off, toward the other four ghosts in the center of the room.

These meetings are constrained mostly by how long Ellie (cyan) and Thomas (green) can stay out of their SOULs all at once. Ellie's personal record is forty minutes; Thomas' is thirty-five. We don't have much time.

Myka, the yellow SOUL and de facto leader of the group (she's the oldest except for Thomas, and Thomas, for all he's the nicest person on the planet, is an enormous pushover), starts without preamble. "I was just over at the Ruins, checking on the new human. She has indeed woken up, but that alone isn't the problem. The problem is that she attacked Advent, and while she was doing it...while she was doing it, I swear I caught a glimpse of Chara."

Everyone reacts. Ellie squeaks and freezes up. Thomas puts his hands over his mouth. Jaden and Keisha (dark blue) shout "What the heck?!?!" in almost perfect unison. I imagine I look pretty shell-shocked, but I don't care.

Chara.

See, we all thought we got rid of Chara years ago. It took the six of us working together to the point of burnout, plus a good deal of help from Frisk themself, but we thought we'd finally managed to excise Chara from Frisk's mind for good. Now it seems they've popped up again, attached to another living human. Jaden's right: we have got a problem. A big red problem with a knife.

"What I don't understand," I blurt out, "is why Chara's attaching themself to a yellow-SOUL human. They never went for any of us; we were never determined enough to serve their purposes. Is it...is it possible this new human has enough determination to...to SAVE and RESET?"

Myka looks at me gravely. "We'd better hope not. Otherwise, we've got another fight on our hands. And if this new human isn't as determined as Frisk..."

She trails off, but I know what she's thinking: if this new human can't help as much as Frisk did, how are we going to get Chara out this time?
