Chatterbox: Inkwell

Elemental Kingdoms RP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Note: Please excuse
my weird speech patterns, where I use okay, all right, and so a ton to start my
sentences. Also, please excuse my horrendous run-on sentences.

Okay, so recently,
I’ve been looking at my Magic RP, which I guess was not very accurately named,
but who cares? Anyhoo (totally a word), I’ve been looking at it, and mourning
how we never actually got even near finishing it-which is sadness, because I
loved it, and it was my first post on the CB, and I’ve had that idea in my head
for years. Literally years, because it first came to my head way back when I
was in, like, first grade, and I was still playing pretend with my friends. In
third grade, my final friend who still role-played with me (I only learned that
was what we were doing in fifth grade), moved away, so I sorta forgot about it.
Then, in fourth grade (has it only been two years?), I discovered the CB, and
once I figured out how to post, creating that RP was my first order of
business.

I would love to
revive, no, wait it’s more of a restart, that RP, because I was younger then,
and naïve to the ways of RPing, and I didn’t know what OP meant, for goodness’s
sake, and my writing has changed so much since then. When I first started the
Magic RP, I didn’t have too high hopes for it, because, after all, it was my
first post, and new as I was, I had seen the many, many, many RPs that had died
without even getting started. But then, it exploded into this ginormous
thirty-four (34!) page thread, and I couldn’t believe it. I still can’t believe
how big that got, because it wasn’t that we had a lot of people, unlike some
mega threads, we just had quite a bunch of posts, and rule-checks, and a ton of
tops.

I really, really want
to try that again, because, I mean, look what happened the first time! And now
I’m older and wiser (well, maybe not so much…), and there are so many new
CBers, I think if we gave it another shot, this could be super-duper fantastic,
amazing, superb, overwhelming, breathtaking, astounding, splendid, fantabulous,
tremendous, grand, remarkable, brilliant, excellent, outstanding, wonderful,
terrific, fabulous, marvelous, magnificent, superlative, inspired, astonishing,
incredible, mind-blowing, staggering, dumbfounding, flabbergasting, stunning,
mindboggling, shocking, sensational, and, of course, AWESOME RP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(yes, I did use a thesaurus)

Oh, wow. This is
long. And I haven’t even done the plot, or the regulations, or my charrie, or
the charrie sheet yet!

All right, down to
business.

The Plot:

In the land of
Liandis, there are five great kingdoms. Each nation is blessed by the gods with
an elemental power. Four of these nations each occupy a corner of the
continent, and the fifth, the smallest, is tucked where the four converge.

The Kingdom of Fire,
located in the hot, dry southeastern region of the continent, has, obviously,
the power over fire and lava. Nicknamed Sparkies, the citizens of the Kingdom
of Fire believe that being strong willed, determined, and dynamic is the way to
succeed.

The Kingdom of Water,
in the northwest region with many islands and peninsulas, has power over water,
in all its forms. Citizens of the Kingdom of Water, often called Rainers, value
those who are calm, relaxed, and collected.

The Kingdom of Earth,
in the fertile southwest region, has power over the earth, including rocks, minerals,
animals, and plants. Greenies, as they are called, are raised to be caring,
friendly, and kind.

The Kingdom of Air,
away up in the mountainous northeast, is gifted with the power to control air
and, therefore, the winds. Known as Stormers, they believe that being
adaptable, carefree, and good natured will benefit them most.

The final, smallest
kingdom is the Kingdom of Magic. It is tucked right where the other four
kingdoms converge, and is barely a quarter of the size of the others. In the
Kingdom of Magic, the citizens can heal things, either creature or plant, and
are the only people who can use magic at all, however, either potions or spells
are needed. Called Wizards, they value cleverness, a sense of humor, and creativity.

Those are the five
kingdoms that own land, but there remains one more nation, a group of people
who are the outcasts of society, the ones born without powers. This group is
known as the Dark Tribe, and they want powers. They believe that their powers
were stolen, and they will stop at nothing to get them back. Unbeknownst to the
five kingdoms, they plan to capture the heir of each, and one commoner from
each.

At the beginning of
the RP, a ball will be held at the Magic Palace, and all the royals, and
wealthy commoners, and a handful of randomly selected middle-class commoners
will be there. This will include all our charries.

Okay, I think that’s
all that I need to explain for the plot.

The Regulations:

1)   Powers
work like this:

·
The royals of each kingdom control all
parts of their element, for example, the prince of the fire kingdom can control
all fire and lava, so he has all his subjects’ powers in one

·
The commoners of each kingdom have one
specific power, like commoner of the fire kingdom might be able to make
volcanoes erupt, or a commoner of the earth kingdom might be able to talk to
one type of animal, like squirrels, or songbirds

2)   There
will be five princes or princesses, one for each kingdom. If we don’t get all
of them, we’ll make an NPC

3)   There
will be five commoners, one from each kingdom. If there aren’t enough of these,
then we’ll either ignore them, or create an NPC

4)   If
you make a royal, please have them be your only charrie. If you make a
commoner, you can have two, if you wish. This is only because the royals will
probably be more important than the commoners

5)   You
can make a person from the Dark Tribe, who either is evil, or doesn’t like what
the Dark Tribe is doing. We’ll meet them later in the RP, not at the very
beginning

6)   Late
joiners can be commoners we meet later in the RP, or make a charrie who doesn’t
have powers, but isn’t in the Dark Tribe, who we will also meet later in the
RP, or as previously mentioned, they can create a Dark Tribe charrie

7)   For
clothing at the ball, wear colors that make sense for your kingdom, or shades
of those colors. For example, Sparkies should wear red and orange, and Rainers
should wear blue and purple, and Greenies should wear green and brown, and
Stormers should wear white and silver. For Wizards, any colors will do, because
magic doesn’t really have a color associated with it. Possibly yellow, because
it hasn’t been used yet?

I think that’s it. If
you need any clarifications, let me know.

The Charrie Sheet:

Name
(something fantasyish, not just like, Sarah. No offense to people named Sarah,
I quite like that name. Be creative, and use uncommon names):

Age
(7-20, I would like most to be between 12 and 17, but one little kid could make
an interesting plot):

Gender:

Kingdom
and position (royal or commoner):

Power(s):

Appearance
(include clothing):

Personality:

Other:

My Charrie:

Name
(something fantasyish, not just like, Sarah. No offense to people named Sarah,
I quite like that name. Be creative, and use uncommon names):
Skyiera
(sky-ear-uh) Taliana, but goes by Skye

Age
(7-20, I would like most to be between 12 and 17, but one little kid could make
an interesting plot):
13, very close to fourteen

Gender:
Female

Kingdom
and position (royal or commoner):
Princess of the
Magic Kingdom

Power(s):
As Princess, she can heal things, both plant and animal, and since she
practices a lot, she can heal a six-inch scratch in under ten seconds. Bigger
wounds, or broken bones and the like, take longer. She can use magic; mostly
she uses spells, and only short ones she can remember easily.

Appearance
(include clothing):
She is five feet, two inches tall,
and has slightly wavy, reddish-auburn hair, which goes down to the small of her
back, and she usually keeps it in a ponytail or many small braids, and the last
six inches ombre into being teal. She has freckles, and pale skin, and big
violet eyes. She wears gold and teal when at court, as those are the colors of
her kingdom, but usually in the form of cargo pants and a loose shirt, because
her parents stopped forcing her into dresses after she ripped the hems off all
of them, except at extremely important and fancy occasions, like the ball. When
not at court, she wears a teal tunic belted with rope, and dark brown cargo
pants, as well as leather boots (like Uggs, but, of course, not branded). At
the ball, she will wear a gold (the color, not real gold) dress, with teal
accents, as those are the colors on the Magic Kingdom’s flag, however, she will
have yellow leggings underneath.

Personality:
Spunky Skye hates having to dress up and be a proper princess. She absolutely
despises being around all the pompous ambassadors and haughty lords and ladies
of the court. Most of her friends are commoners she meets while exploring,
because she is forever looking for hidden tunnels and passageways in the walls
that surround the capital city, since she loves to explore, and learn stuff.
One of her goals in life is to know everything (JK) She spends a lot of time in
the University of Magic’s library, learning new spells, and out in the woods
surrounding the capital, practicing them. She can be a bit reckless, trying out
new spells without knowing fully what they do, because, she figures, she can
always heal herself when something goes wrong. Generally, when she modifies a
spell to make it perform better, or work faster or something, she gets so
excited that she forgets to research the possible consequences. Sometimes, these
experiments backfire, and she ends up going home with a sooty face and ashy
hair; the aftermath of an explosion, but she is always ready to get right back
at it the next day, figuring out what she did wrong and trying again. I guess
her main personality traits are spunkiness, recklessness, curiosity, and
creativity.

Other:
Nope

Oh, my G-O-S-H. This
is very long. This may be the longest thing I have ever posted. It’s a good
thing that the CB doesn’t have post size limits.

I hope that the
formatting doesn’t get all messed up so that this looks weird.

I really want this RP
to do well. I really, really, really want it to become an awesome RP. I hope I
didn’t write this in vain.

@Hermione Granger & Shadow Dragon

How about we have the Earth Kingdom select it's next ruler by the will of the dead/retired [queen in this case according to Shady's backstory]. That way, it would be more reasonable for the kidnappers to take both of them, or just the fact that they both are in line for the throne.

Though, other kingdoms may be more strict on the royal bloodline thing, or select their next rulers a different way.

Actually, that would work really well, I think. Great idea, Storm! I'll try to post  soon, OK, everyone? And @Kitten, please revise Gust soon.

l like that idea, Stormy :D The queen is definitely going to have issues deciding which child she wants to be the heir.

I just realised a flaw in this: if the king/queen dies unexpectedly, then the next ruler could be debated upon and cause war(much like the events in the Wings of Fire series w/the dragons).

Maybe the flaw could just be there, or maybe there can be this magical spell made long ago by the Kingdom of Magic(to give it a bit of history) and having all the rulers agree, that when the next ruler is chosen(upon the current's death will, retirement, challenge, etc.), all of the inhabitants of that kingdom will suddenly just know what happened and that a new ruler(they will know who specifically) was appointed. It would be more reasonable for the early rulers to think this out.

Ok, so I will make a Dark Tribe charrie!

Name: Zantilon "Zani" Andogeed

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Kingdom/Position: Originally Fire Kingdom, now Dark Tribe (I'm not sure how the Dark Tribe is organized - do they have leaders too? My charrie will just be a regular member, not a leader)

Power: None - this is why she joined the Dark Tribe.

Appearance: Snarly, long black hair; sharp-looking face; mean eyes; short but strong; usually wears ripped black clothes

Personality: Evil, determined to ruin the world, wants to have all the power over everything, desperately wants to be able to light fires, is trying to find a way to steal other people's powers, has a hot temper

Other: She ran away from the Fire Kingdom at age 5, and was taken in by the Dark Tribe, who sculpted her to become evil.

I did revise Gust, you probably didn't see it - I left a comment on your original comment that said I needed to revise him. Basically I just gave him the power to use wind to lift himself up. It is okay with me if you give the air commoner to someone else- I do have my Dark Tribe charrie (Zani).

Thanks for clearing that up. If you're OK with it, I'm going to give Dandelion the air commoner. I really like Zani, BTW.
