Camelot RP!

In the time of knighthood and chivalry, all is well in majestic Camelot. The Saxon hordes have been driven back, Arthur has drawn Excalibur from the stone and taken his rightful place as High King of England with Merlin and Guenevere at his side, and the Knights of the Round Table prevail over evil. Until one night... the fabled sword vanishes. The reconciled Morgan Le Fay is suspected at first, until she appears, drenched and shivering, in the castle's throne room. She tells of a new enemy- one who is greater and more terrible than any ever faced before- an enemy that can be slain not by any knight, but one who has a truer heart than any. The very next dawn, the Knights of the Round Table set off to retreive Excalibur. The night of their departure, the great wizard Merlin disappears. With the knights gone, and the castle more vulnerable than ever, it is up to an unruly band of unlikely heroes to save Merlin before their fearful enemy could execute his plan...

Big information dump! This is my first RP, so I'm figuring it out as I go along. You can be a knight in training, a castle servant, or a wizard's apprentice. I would like a pretty even mix of boys and girls, and of the roles. Remember, think medeival, so no cell phones, computers, the like. Here's the sheet:

Name:

Age (13-17 please!):

Role:

Gender:

Appearance:

Personality:

Fears/Weaknesses:

Strengths:

Master (for apprentice or knight in training, your teacher, for servant who you serve):

OHMIGOSH YES SIGN ME UP

Quick question, though. How is it possible to have an equal balance? Girls wouldn't be knights or mages/wizards/etc in training (well, with very few exceptions), and I doubt they'd be servants for KING ARTHUR. This is the medieval period, is it not?

To amend my previous comment: I'm an idiot, of course there would be female servants.

Also, top!

Can I write the villain?

Sure! I was thinking it to be some sort of mythical creature, like an evil dragon or sorcerer or something, but I'm sure whatever you come up with will be far more interesting!

@St. Owl

You have a good point. I shouldn't have written "wizard apprentices", I meant sorcerer's apprentices. That's open to girls as well. Girls weren't really knights back in the day... but there's a first time for everything if someone really wants to!

Anywho, here's me.

Name: Rosalind "Rose" Paragand

Age: 16

Role: Sorcerer's Apprentice

Gender: F

Appearance: Long dark brown hair, with a streak of gold, hazel eyes that seem to change color, fair skin, normally wears practical leather boots and a blue and cream colored dress

Personality: A bit unsure of herself, very practical, overly trusting of others, always second guessing things. Loves books on any topic, and devours words.

Fears/Weaknesses: A major fear of heights, and a fear that she'll never learn magic properly.

Strengths: Writing and horseback riding.

Master: The wizard Merik

Other (basically backstory): The gold streak in her hair is a result of her father's failed alchemy experiment when she was a baby, which is why she wanted to learn magic in the first place. She lives with Merik because her father left Camelot after the experiment, an there are rumors that after failing in alchemy, he succeeded and left to spen his gold. Rose firmly disbelieves those rumors, although they and the fact that most of the magic she attempts goes haywire are the seeds of her self doubt.

All righty. By the way, I realize that I sounded a bit like a jerk in that post - I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional.

Name: Carnell (most medieval people didn't have last names - King Arthur was a rare exception.)

Age: 14

Role: Stable boy

Gender: M

Appearance: Carnell's hair is scorned throughout the castle because it's longer than is "proper" and very messy. It's not that he doesn't try to keep it under control; it just doesn't happen, and he likes the length it's at. It's a light brown color. He has pale skin, and he doesn't burn, but he's very freckley. Carnell's eyes are grey, and his lips are usually chapped because he bites them quite a lot.

Personality: A shy kid, Carnell tends to blend into the background - he does what he's told, and he does it well, but then he fades away again. He believes strongly in the social heirarchy and will not speak unless spoken to. He's a bit of a dreamer, and can get lost in his head. He's good with animals, and though he can run pretty well, his upper body strength isn't great. He dreams of becoming a knight, but he knows that in his current state of fitness, it's not going to happen.

Fears/Weaknesses: He can't stand spiders (which is bad, the stables are full of them), and he can get awkward around people of the opposite gender. Carnell can easily get lost in his head and forget what he was supposed to be doing, even while leading a knight's horse. He's "simple minded" in speech and manner, as some knights call him.

Strengths: He's good with all animals, but especially horses, and he's also a brilliant rider, though he doesn't often get the chance. He's very stealthy and fast.

Master: I'm guessing there's some sort of chain of command for servants in the castle? Some NPC arrangements might need to be arranged. In any case, whoever a stable boy reports to.

Other: He grew up in a normal peasant family, but his relationship with horses got him a spot in Camelot, where he's been working for most of his life. Carnell doesn't know much about his family, and thus doesn't really care about them.

I didn't know that! I guess you do learn something new everyday! :)

I probably should do some more research though...

Yeessssssss!!!!! Camelot-4-evah!

Name: Arienna "Ari" Cobblyr

Age (13-17 please!): 14

Role: Castle servant

Gender: Female

Appearance: Adiella has straightish red-gold hair that is a little past her waist--she's never cut it. She has dark brown eyes and slightly tanned skin, but hardly any freckles. She has high cheekbones, making her face more triangle-shaped than round. Usually wears the dark blue dress and white apron of the female castle servants.

Personality: Adiella is kind of timid and shy. She's completely loyal to King Arthur and the castle residents, and you can depend on her to keep your secrets or do whatever you ask. When she's working in the kitchens by herself, sometimes she sings. She wouldn't do it in front of other people but she loves singing to herself. It's one of the things she does well.

Fears/Weaknesses: Adiella is an orphan, and her only home is the castle. She's terrified that if she does something wrong she'll be turned out.

Strengths: Adiella has strong arms, from lifting heavy buckets of water or carrying wood to the fires in the kitchen. She's also good at sneaking around, because once or twice before she's been asked to spy on other people--who would suspect a kitchen maid?

Master (for apprentice or knight in training, your teacher, for servant who you serve): Um, the head cook in the kitchen of the castle? Adiella also does other random jobs around the castle.

Other: N/A

Name: Archane

Age: thousands of years old

Role: Villain

Gender: genderless.

Appearance: can take the shape of anything or anyone it wants to, but mostly appears as a shadow in the shape of a skeleton.

Personality: Pure evil

Fears/Weaknesses: It is vulnerable to fire and light, but only in large quantities. A mere torch will do nothing.

Strengths: It is able to steal people's shadows. When it steals their shadows, it gained any power the person had.

Master: It serves no one but himself.

Other: It has stolen Merlin's shadow and locked him away in the ruins that are its home. Arcane wants to use Merlin's powers to take over Camelot. It tried to steal Morgana's power too but she escaped.

Name: Lionel (Lee-en-ol)

Age: 15

Role: Knight in Training

Gender: Male

Appearance: Lionel has curly, short, hazelnut-colored hair and blue eyes.  Being a knight, he is very musculat and strong.  He has some freckles, and he normally wears the silver armor it is deemed proper for castle knights to wear.

Personality: Lionel is brave and has a strong will.  He likes to succeed, and tries hard to do so.  He respects and loves his duty to protect the castle, and will follow the commands of those of higher status than him.  However, he can be rebellious at times under certain circumstances.

Fears/Weaknesses: His biggest fear is that he will fail the commands of the royals, and will have to be withdrawn from knighthood.  His biggest weakness is that he cannot make up his own mind/opinion about different things.

Strengths: He's strong, and he knows self-defense from knight training.

Master: His teacher. Teacher Kerald

Other (Backstory): Lionel came from a royal family.  His older brother became a successful knight, and it was expected from both his parents and his royal status that he become one also.

Can Lanceline and Lionel be shipped? It would be great if she liked him but wouldn't say anything because she was disguised as a man. It would also be great if she were arrogant around him and tried to impress him. Great ship potential.

@Quill

Ack, sorry! It's Arienna.

Also, she's hopelessly in love with Lionel. She's seen him training while she does random jobs around the castle, but she's pretty sure he has no idea that she exists.
