K.N.I.G.H.T.S. Solo Write

KNIGHTS stands for Knowledgeable Nines In Graceful, Hazardous Tutelage Studies (if you don't know what tutelage is look it up). Hardly anyone knows about the KNIGHTS and their very training center is hidden away in the mountains and disguised as a girl's finishing school. The girls themselves train in groups of nine, traveling from class to class to learn about combat, agility, strength, loyalty, and disguise. I, Madame Charlotte, am the principal of the KNIGHTS Academy as well as a graduated KNIGHT at the top of my classes. I am the one who scouts out the girls and send their parents a letter like this:

To the parents of Miss (girl's first and last name here),

It has come to my attention that your daughter is doing quite well in her current curriculum. I would be glad to invite her to Knight's Academy, a place to finish girls and make them proud of being a lady. If you choose to send your daughter to Knight's Academy please send an acceptance letter to enroll your daughter and pack our daughter away to the address on this envelope in the coming fall. I have enclosed a list of things to pack as well as a personal note for your daughter. We hope you accept and that your daughter will soon join us here.

Sincerely,

Madame Charlotte

Madame Charlotte, principal of Knight's Academy

I will not reveal to you the note I give to each young lady, but I will include a form:

NAME:
AGE (12-15):
APPEARANCE:
PERSONALITY (TRY NOT TO HAVE MARY SUE CHARACTERS):
WEAPON OF CHOICE:
STRENGTHS:
WEAKNESSES:
BACKSTORY (I REQUIRE AS ELABORATE AS POSSIBLE):
MC, SECONDARY, TERTIARY, OR BACKGROUND? (FIRST AND SECOND CHOICE):

Other Notes:

I will be accepting a minimum of 9 characters but if you come in after nine you might be in one of the older training groups. No reservations.

Regarding the character levels,

MC stands for Main Character. The sections will be in third person, but mainly focusing on you. I will accept two of these.

Secondary is the next level down. You are likely good friends with the MCs and stand by their side. You will show up many times. I will accept four of these.

Tertiary not quite the last level, as I said if you come in after nine you will be in an older group. But Tertiaries are often the ones who comfort the MCs, are shifty and mysterious, or a person who is nice but the MCs might be jealous of you. Each Tertiary will have a small yet important role. I will accept three of these.

Background characters are either the people in the older groups, or the instructors. Please ask if you want to be a Madame, and if you are you will either instruct in combat, agility, strength, or disguise.

Sorry for any boys out there! If you want you can make a boy's training center.

There is a minimum of one character per person.

Also, if you have read this entire thing, congradulations, and please incluse something about rain somewhere in your character sheet.

And with that I will sign off.

Part Four

The doorknob didn't turn. Lillium turned it right, and turned it left. She pushed and pulled, but it soon became apparent that it was locked. More sounds of struggle came from the other room, and Holly began racking her brain for ways to open the door. She hesitantly pulled out a hair clip and started toward the door. But before she could reach it, the girl who had stated her name as Alexandria Neige raced to the back of the room, turned around, and jumped over the other's heads, slamming into the door and splintering it open. Then, without hesitation or signs of effort, she picked herself up and raced through the door. The others looked at each other, shrugged, and followed. Inside the office, a window was broken, glass shards scattered throughout the vicinity. There were dents in the walls, indicating some sort of struggle. A muffled noise came from behind the desk, and almost everyone raced to see what it was. Adelise stayed back, taking in her surroundings. "I'm watching to see if the intruder comes back," she explained in a whisper, in answer to Holly's questioning glance. That seemed reasonable.

"Shout if you see him or her," said Holly, turning to see what the other girls had run to investigate. Under the desk was a lumpy black bag that was making noise. Madame Charlotte? Roberta cautiously reached toward it, but on the inside they found a  twisted blanket and a recording device that had been making the sounds. Holly's head jerked up to look at Adelise, who was still on guard. While the other girls were questioning the bag and it's contents, Holly made her way over to Adelise to tell her what was going on. She listened without pausing to look at Holly, her eyes roaming the room.

"Huh," she said when Holly finished. "Red herring mayb- Ommph!!!" A small figure clothed entirely in black slammed into Adelise from above. There was a camouflaged trapdoor now open that the girls hadn't noticed before.  Adelise immediately scrambled to her feet, grabbed a weapon from a display shelf on the wall, and began defensively waving it in front of her. The other girls noticed and soon Allyssa was grabbing another weapon off the wall (somehow it looked like the weapons were put there for just that). The others quickly followed example and soon everyone but Holly had a weapon and was facing off against the mysterious attacker. Her hand instinctively went to her pocket, were she usually kept something useful. But it was empty. There wasn't a weapon left on the wall and Holly helplessly watched as the figure picked off the others one by one. First Allyssa, who had so bravely took charge by what looked like leadership, then Adelise, who had been on look out. Roberta came next and then Alexandria. After her was Cecilia, followed by Lillium, and Selene. The girls groaned on the floor. Only Ireland was left besides herself. The two moved closer together, for they had not forgotten that strength lies in numbers. Ireland carefully whispered a plan in Holly's ear while still watching the attacker who was examining the others to make sure they were out cold. Holly nodded and picked up  sword from where it had fallen, starting to advance toward the strange figure. Ireland hid behind the desk just as the person whirled around to face Holly. Holly could feel a sweat break out on her forehead as she hefted the sword, not knowing how to actually use it. But that was OK, because her goal was only to distract the attacker, and not get knocked out. The figure balled up their fists in front of themselves in a wrestler's stance. Holly swung the heavy sword ahead of her... and dropped it. On the attacker's foot. The person let out a small cry of shock and pain, and in that moment when he or she was momentarily off-guard, Ireland shot an arrow from her chosen bow that landed in Holly's waiting hands. The arrow had a long rope made of knitted yarn attached to it, and as soon as Holly had a good grip on it, she ran in circles around the figure, tying them up. Ireland emerged from behind the desk, the other end of the rope held firmly in her hand. After quickly aiding holly with the tying up of the figure and ending with a secure knot worthy of a sailor, Ireland ripped the ski mask off of the person's face to reveal the smiling face of a woman. The woman laughed. "Well done," she said in a heavy British accent. "It's been a long time since someone has beaten me."

This seemed to irk Ireland greatly. She shouted, "Why are you laughing?!" And then with greater aggression, "What have you done with Madame Charlotte?!"

The woman laughed again. Ireland's frown grew deeper. "I'm Madame Charlotte," she exclaimed as the others began waking up. "And you have all passed the third and final test!"

Allyssa sat up groggily. "What?" Madame Charlotte asked to be untied, and after she had to repeat herself many times before the message was spread to everyone. A loud cheer rose up in the room, and everyone high fived. Finally, thought Holly Chase. Finally they could start beginning the actually training.

Allyssa Julette smiled as she and the eight other girls, led by Madame Charlotte, entered the school auditorium. Surprisingly, there was a large screen in the room, showing the crowd of students. Then, before she had any more time to reflect on how or why, the screen shut off. She got a good look at the students in the crowd. All girls, all excited, all in state of attention. Madame Charlotte cleared her throat. "Ahem." her voice echoed throughout the room, even though Allyssa couldn't detect a microphone, nor speakers. "KNIGHTS, we begin another year. And I am pleased to introduce to you our new trainees. Please step forward when you hear your name called. This year's Rookies are: Allyssa Julette, Holly Chase, Roberta Ellen Schafer, Cecilia Whittemore, Alexandria Neige, Adelise Riviore, Ireland Grace, Lillium Baker*, and Selene Akemi Hold. Congratulations to all of you. Knowledged, Experts, and Fighters returning for another year, welcome back. Knowledged, please go to Madame Quinn for your schedules. Experts, Madame Brooklyn. Fighters, Madame Teresa. Rookies, you're with me. After receiving your schedules and lectures from your designated temporary chaperones, you have one hour of free time, recommended to be used finding your dorms, followed by dinner. Now, at this time you are requested to follow your chaperone." There was a sound of scuffling feet, and then everyone  besides the new trainees got up and left the room. Madame Charlotte looked at the remaining girls and smiled.  "Please have a seat." Everyone sat. Allyssa Julette got a good look at the head Madame now.  Madame Charlotte was short, but not stocky. She wore her flaxen blonde hair in a side braid and her gray-green eyes held an essence of independence. She wore a simple shirt bearing the logo of the school and jean capris but still carried an air of importance. She wore absolutely no finery or makeup, not even to cover up a long scar on the side of her face that Allyssa had not noticed before.  "Well," she began. "Before we begin I will hand you schedules." As Madame Charlotte handed each girl a paper she continued talking. "If you are as much a a minute late, there will be punishments. Punctuality is a skill everyone needs to possess, whether you are guarding an important authority or not." Allyssa looked at the other girls. Some gaped, eyes wide, while others were tense and waiting for that which was to come, and there were a few who remained composed, with only the slightest hungry excitement showing. "And I guess that brings us to rules. In your dorm closets you will find a few shirts similar to mine, with the logo embroidered on the top left, along with a selection of skirts and pants. You are to wear these at all times, except when instructed otherwise. You also are not allowed to venture off grounds alone. We have countless enemies constantly trying to find out about us. If we are inspected or have unauthorized visitors you should act as normal and ladylike as possible, as KNIGHTS Academy is disguised as a finishing school. Meals are provided by the Experts at breakfast, the Fighters at lunch, and the Knowledged at dinner. The cafeteria is closed between meal times. You are to never question the authority, and severe punisment will be given to those who do. That will be all for now. You are free for an hour." With that Madame Charlotte dismissed them.

Back in her dorm, #7, Allyssa studied her schedule.

When she laid down the schedule, she began to set up her stuff around the room. This dorm had two beds, but her roomate hadn't arrived yet. She hoped she would be nice and- Just then a timid knock sounded at the door. "Come in," called Allyssa over her shoulder, hanging some clothes in her closet. A small figure with short curly black hair and purple framed glasses stepped inside. Holly Chase. A scowl appeared on Allyssa's face.

"Hi," said Holly, nervously. Allyssa didn't respond. She would never admit it, but the fact that others had been able to defeat Madame Charlotte when she hadn't made her a tiny bit jelous. Great, first day and she already had a grudge against her roomate.

Part Six:

Holly Chase went over to the closet at 6:28AM the next morning. Allyssa had divided it into two sections the night before. Uneven sections, but sections none the less. She reached to the multiple hangers, and hesitated. Putting on the uniform would make it official, and she wasn't sure she wanted official just yet. There were too many questions that still lingered in her mind. Yesterday, for instance. When Madame Carolina had acted as a mother and she had acted as a childish brat, she had taken off Holly's glasses. She hadn't been able to see what she had done after that, but at the time she assumed she was acting motherly and just cleaning them, and soon they were handed back. But after Madame Charlotte had dissmissed them, she had called to Holly and asked for her glasses. She had obliged curiously, and when they where on her again Holly had looked at the Madame with obvious question in her eye. But Madame Charlotte just smiled at her warmly and said nothing. A grunt of impatiance came from behind her and Holly jolted out of her flashback. "Are you going to put something on or what? You've been standing there for two minutes!" Holly turned around to see Allyssa, fully dressed and ready. She looked down at her watch. 6:30AM. Oops.

"Sorry," she mumbled. She picked a plain shirt and some comfy capris. No hoodies allowed apparently.  She was ready now. At least, she hoped.

The two roomates entered the cafeteria at precicely 7:00AM, thanks to Holly. Unlike Allyssa, she was as organized as posible. Holly's side of the room was neat and tidy, while Allyssa's set up had quickly become scattered around the room. Her closet was organized, while Allyssa put things wherever they seemed to fit. On the other hand, Allyssa did have a sense for style, and not just for her colorful side of the room. Her long brown hair was knotted in a complicated braid and she wore a polo shirt with a tie and a smart pair of pants. Holly's short black curly hair bounced this way and that, always threatening to pull loose of her ponytail. Her habit of pushing up glasses made her look like a nerd, and her clothing choices weren't interesting at all. Holly sighed as she refelcted on these things, slowly making her way down the breakfast line. As she looked around the room for a quiet place to sit, she saw Adelise frantically waving at her from a circular table with Alexandria. "HOLLY! OVER HERE HOLLY! HEY, HERE!" She paused, not sure if she should take the offer. But her legs had a mind of their own, and they walked her over to Adelise's table while her brain screamed at them to stop. "Hi, Holly!" said Adelise, a grin twitching at the corners of her mouth. "Fancy meeting you here." Alexandria offered a nod of acceptment as Holly sat down with them.

"Hi," said Holly, quickly glancing around the room for the other Rookies. Allyssa had sat down with Cecilia and Roberta. Ireland, Lillium, and Selene were seated at a table not far away.

"So," Alexandria said. "What was it like beating Madame Charlotte? I mean, what actually happened. Holly noted that she said all of this in a flat monotone voice, with not even a flicker of excitement.

"Well," began Holly, hesitantly, looking down at her plate of food. "It was really Ireland who came up with it. She always kept a ball of knitted yarn in her pocket. That's actally quite strong, you know. Anyway, she had a ball of yarn and some sort of boaw and arrow thingy, and she tied one end of the yarn to the end of an arrow and hid behind the desk. When I distracted the Madame by dropping a heavy sword on her foot, she shot the arrow. I caught it and began running around Madame Charlotte, tying her up. Ireland helped me and tied it in this fancy knot. Then she pulled of the ski mask. You know the rest. That's pretty much it."

"Wow," said Adelise, enviously. "I wish I had done it."

"Well, the only reson I did it is that we were the only two left. I thought you guys would have taken her out." She said this last part though a mouthful of pancakes. "These are good, I hope I learn to cook like this." There were nods and murmmers of agreements. And the rest of their meal was in silence as the three dug into their breakfast.

Sorry everyone, for the long wait. Between school starting and all that fun stuff, I only just now finished the seventh part. Here it is:

 Part Seven:

Allyssa Julette looked down at her watch as she raced through the hallways. 8:09AM. Shoot. First day and she was already late for her first class.   After finishing breakfast, she had gone to her room for her schedule. Unfortunately, it had been hidden somewhere in her already messy half of the room. She finally decided to go without when she heard the bell ring for first period. Madame Beatrice was waiting with a glare, having already taken a head count and singled out the missing pupil. "Allyssa Julette," she drawled calmly.

Allyssa's heart sank, but she bravely kept her chin up, looked her instructor in the eye, and responded, "Yes Madame?"

"YOU ARE LATE!" Everyone in the room jumped at this sudden outburst, even Alexandria, who was usually completely emotionless. Allyssa could feel herself beginning to flush. Madame Beatrice, her dark eyes burning, continued. "Do you know what it means to be late?" The Madame spit out late with a hiss, and her crazy black hair reminded Allyssa of Medusa. Without waiting for an answer, Madame Beatrice continued. "When you are preforming you tutelage duties, if you are so much as one second late," she said, stepping closer and closer. "It can mean death!" She was now directly in front of Allyssa, and the girl had to look up at the towering figure to continue holding the powerful gaze. "And that," she emphasized each syllable. "will mean failure." She spun around to face the class, giving each of them a cold stare that made them each feel about the size of a grub. "Now, my Rookies," she said, in a tone that matched her stare. "that is why we are not late." There was an uncomfortable silence in the room as Madame Beatrice stalked back to her desk. Everyone glanced at each other confusedly as she calmly began to grade papers. Then she glanced up, smiling sweetly at Allyssa(who was still standing) and the class. "Welcome to Usuals. Have a seat Allyssa! Now, today we will start off with fractions..." The KNIGHTS stared. Allyssa sat down in a conveniently empty desk near Cecilia. She had never before met someone who was so mercurial! As she dutifully kept up on her regular school work, she couldn't help wondering: were all of the teachers like this?
