Theatre Troupe Roleplay!

Theatre Troupe Roleplay!

Welcome to Bardswood Theatre Company, a well-known theatrical guild inside one of the world's biggest Renaissance Faires, Castlefest!

Oy vey, is that really what they picked? Castlefest?

Yes, now pipe down, Brynn.

The theatre troupe is widely regarded as one of the best improv and Shakespeare performance houses in the nation; or, at least, in Oregon. Maybe just the best in North Haverford, Oregon. Regardless, it's happy to welcome you into the fold!

In the roleplay, we are all actors in this troupe, trying to put on a fantasy play called Lyre's Heart. I made the play up, whoop!

But there's something odd about Lyre's Heart. Something... out of this world.

SUMMARY: Basically, a bunch of stage actors are sucked into the world of Lyronia, where they gain the powers and abilities of their characters and have to fight a villain (who looks AWFULLY familiar.) The password is SPIDERS, btw!

RULES:

One character per person.

Shipping is very open!

I'm making a director character, who will assign your parts in the play and speed the plot along.

One of you, and ONLY ONE, will get to be the villain.

PLEASE POST AT LEAST ONCE EVERY TWO DAYS!

USE CORRECT SPELLING AND GRAMMAR!

YOU CAN put a preference for which part you get, but THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'LL GET IT!

CHARACTERS IN "LYRE'S HEART":

THE KNIGHT: A brave warrior (can be male or female!) who wields an enchanted, magical blade. Is strong, brave, and a bit full of him/herself. Likes to play the hero a bit too much. I'm not going to make these TOO detailed, because I want to leave room for customization.

THE CROWNBEARER: A prince/princess (male or female), the knight's ~love interest~, a beautiful/handsome person who, despite appearances of helplessness, is a talented hand-to-hand warrior. Snarky and a bit vain. Cool in a crisis.

THE MAGE OF FLORA: A strong mage who wields the power of plants (a la Poison Ivy from Batman). Is feisty and not "flowery" in the least. Almost never lowers her/his voice. Has a hard time controlling her powers.

THE WIELDER OF STORMS: A lightning mage who is... surprisingly levelheaded, ironically. Smart and responsible, yet overprotective of others. Often has a hard time accessing/using his/her powers.

THE FOX: A mysterious mercenary aiding the team, with a throwing knife and a sneer that can curdle milk. Sneaky and somewhat unnerving. Perhaps the shadows almost constantly around them give that affect.

THE VILLAIN: The Flame, a fearsome enemy sorceror/ess with the power of fire at his or her fingertips. Wants to (rather predicatbly) destroy mankind and usher in a new age of wrath and fire.

Charrie Sheet:

Name: Brynn Wilkes

Gender: F

Part you most want: Lightning Mage (note: I am picking the parts, so don't get your heart set on being the lightning mage. It'll probably be me.)

Part you second most want: Mercenary

Part you third most want: Prince/Princess

Part you fourth most want: Knight

Personality: A bit of a busybody, but means well. Clever, too nosy for her own good, and booksmart rather than streetsmart. Firmly a skeptic! She doesn't believe in magic or anything like that. She's the director in the theater troupe, and the group's organizer.

Appearance: Pale brown hair in a messy bun, glasses, grayish-blue eyes. Has warm, slightly tanned skin and chapped lips from her biting habit. Wears baggy sweaters and old jeans. Doesn't take very good care of herself. A cynic and critic by nature.

A quote they could be heard saying: "If aliens exist, they won't visit us. We're pretty awful, as a species."

Actually, you know what? I have time to make a character right now.

Name: Will Seow

Gender: M

Part you most want: Prince

2nd: The Mage of Flora (Mainly because I thought it would be amusing)

3rd: The Knight

4th: The Fox

Personality: A businessman. Completely full of himself, intelligent, works for money and is in it for money. Serious, cold, and sarcastic. Likes to take the leader role and will usually force himself on it, butting heads with the director often. Rude, but a good liar and can be charismatic and persuasive when he wants to. Incredibly suspicious of everything. Wants everything to be organized, and always has a plan.

Appearance: Short curly dark brown hair that is utterly messy no matter how hard he tries. Almond brown eyes. Wears a large buttoned black overcoat over a tie. Looks very unfriendly. Pretty short.

A quote they could be heard saying: "Money does, in fact, buy happiness."

Ehhh, what the heck. My own RP is struggling a bit so might as well join another so I still get to write without waiting a week at a time. (I'm not giving up on you though, Floating Islands!)

Name: Jackson Fessler

Gender: M

Part you want most: Fox

Part you second most want: Lightning Mage

Part you third most want: Plant Mage

Part you fourth most want: The Villain

Personality: Starving artist. Struggling to find work after majoring in theater. A bit rough around the edges. Takes his job, whatever that may be at the moment, very seriously. Will not tolerate anyone who stands in the way of his goals. Has a pretty bare-bones moral code and is willing to do whatever he needs to in order to survive. Rather disdainful towards the general public, but cares very deeply about the few who manage to get close to him. He has been arrested multiple times for shoplifting.

Appearance: Usually wears a black denim jacket over a plain grey tshirt, and baggy, ripped jeans. Has light skin, a buzzcut, and a trace of a goatee. Intense green eyes. He wears this little amulet thing with the Celtic tree of life on it because he's into Pagan folklore and stuff like that. He has a small scar above his right eyebrow (crime related).

A quote they could be heard saying: "They say good and evil are two sides of the same coin. Can't say I care which side the coin lands on, as long as it ends up in my pocket."

I'll reserve! Question: If I get the knight or the crown bearer, do I have to write love scenes?

Name: Alexia Lorisal (goes by Alex)

Gender: F

Part you most want: The mercenary

Part you second most want: The lightning mage

Part you third most want: The mage of flora

Part you fourth most want: The princess

Personality: Very clever, not too loud but not too quiet either. Likes a good debate, especially if she wins it (which she most often does). Optimistic and ready to have fun, but also serious when necessary. Finds perhaps too much amusement in other peoples struggles. She is quite stubborn and doesn't like people telling her what to do if she doesn't agree with it. Willing to take on anyone in an argument. A great dancer and a fairly good singer as well.

Appearence: Her mother is from Indonesia and her father is from Greece, but she's lived in the U.S all her life and grew up like any one else from Oregon. She has a combination of her parent's features - straight, dark brown hair that's only a couple shades away from being black, and dark, slanted eyes, but not as sharp as her mother's. She's about 5'5, and rather thin.

A quote they could be heard saying: "I do my best so that when things go wrong, nobody can blame me."

NAME: Adrianna Olson

GENDER: Female

PART YOU MOST WANT: Lightning mage

2ND: flora mage(sounds a bit like her actual personality)

3RD: Villian(she doesn’t mind being evil, and usually, she’lol make up a cool backstory to explain their wrongdoings.)

4TH: Fox(?)

PERSONALITY: Adrianna is quiet. Period. Actually, I have a bit more to add. Yes, some may say “she’s just shy” but others may catch the scrutinizing looks she gives them every once in a while and call her mysterious or creepy. In short, she doesn’t talk much, but she keeps an eye on things and knows what’s going on. In theater she loves getting fully into character. She hates being the “star” because of the pressure, which she thinks she can’t handle, and also because of the obvious mistakes they make, and would rather be a side character.

APPEARANCE: Adrianna’s mixed heritage gives her the ability to blend in with almost any minority group. Her eyes are not quite Asian, and her hair is a dark brown. She wears a grey hoodie almost all the time, probably to cover up the not-quite-fitting-hand-me-downs underneath. Has just a touch of lipstick.

A QUOTE THEY COULD BE HEARD SAYING: “... yeah, I think I already figured that out.”

You won’t have to write romance at all! Can you make a Knight character?

I'm saving a spot! I'm not new here , but I'm choosing to keep my identity a secret. I might reveal myself later ;)

Name: Penelope Rivers. (Goes by Penny!)

Gender: Female

Part #1: I would really enjoy the Fox role.

#2: The princess.

#3: The knight.

Personaity: She is very bad at expressing her thoughts and opinions, and often chooses to remain silent instead of speaking out for what she believes to be right. Her lack of actual social skills can lead to awkward and uncomfortable interactions, so she either runs or fakes it until she makes it. That's where her acting skills come from. Acting is one of the few parts of herself that she is confident in. Due to her lack of communication with others, she likes to show her affection for the acting group by making gifts, meaning food and snack items! :) She also occasionally writes encouraging notes and anonymously leaves them around. Sometimes her worries about others' opinions of her can get a little overwhelming, but she tries to retain a positive outlook on life.

Appearance: She's sharp in almost every aspect. Perhaps a lot of the reason she lacks social skills is because nobody every really took the time to try and learn about the girl behind the fierce face. Her neutral expression can make her look a bit unapproachable at times, but she can look fairly pretty at times. She's got good personal hygene, and she tries to wear modest, colorful clothing to make herself look brighter. Her body is a bit gangly because of her vegetarian diet.

A quote they could be heard saying:  "The sun always shines behind the clouds. Don't give up hope!"

This is Brookeira!

I am changing the roles a bit.

The Knight stays the same, as do the Lightning Mage, the Mercenary, and the Villain.

I am combining the Mage of Flora and the Prince/ess. Also, disregard my comments about shipping the knight and the crownbearer. SHIP YOURSELVES WITH ANYONE!

New Role:

The Brawler: an extremely strong man/woman with Herculean abilities. Very boisterous and willing to fight anyone, verbally or physically. NOT STUPID, actually quite clever.

SO! A possible cast list:

Will: Prince of Flora

Jackson: The Fox

Brynn: Wielder of Storms

Alexia: The Brawler

Adrianna: The Flame Queen

WE NEED THE KNIGHT!
