Camp Half-Blood Roleplay

Camp Half-Blood Roleplay

So, I don’t think I usually make RPs...I mean, I join them and everything but never make them, so I believe this might be my first. If at any point you’ve read the Percy Jackson series and really liked them, please join! I promise this will be interesting, and I’ll try to post often. :))

Basically, this is at a different time than the era of Percy and Annabeth and everyone. What’s happening now is that one of the titans is going to destroy the camp due to continuous fights with the kids’ parents, so a select few of students are going to sneak out and try to defeat the Titan, against the rules of course.

The charries needed:

One from Zeus

One from Poseidon (sorry, but that’ll be me. I know, kinda basic, but I like the whole water thing)

Two from Athena

Two from Ares

One from Artemis

Two from Aphrodite

One from Hermes

One from Hades

Here’s mine:

Full name: Hali (like Hailey) Marina Brook

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Parent (includes powers): Poseidon, so water

Personality: Introverted, smart, likes to observe than talk. However, she’s not completely antisocial, and is open to having friends. Hali is curious and open to new experiences, but sometimes self conscious about what people think of her. She’s brave, takes risks, and although introverted, is not afraid to challenge authority.

Appearance: Wavy blonde hair (in beach waves) down her back, but it’s not super long. She’s tanned and slim, but still athletic since she loves swimming. She has big sea blue eyes with gold rims and has freckles sprayed across her face. She always wears an anklet or two. She’s about 5”5.

Background: She grew up on Hawaii, as her mother owned a surfboard company. Hali has grown up surfing and loves it, and she’s quite good. When she found out she had to go to Camp Half Blood, she’s never stayed away from the water, even after she found out who she truly was.

Shipping: Sure

Other: None for now

Can Solange be the one to betray the group? I have an idea about the plot line. I was thinking she betrays them because Oceanus tells her it's the only way to save them.

Solange~

I spent most of the night worrying. I knew that this wasn’t my quest lead, but I had wanted to lead a quest for so long. Most people were worried about being the person who was going to die or betray the rest of the team. I wasn’t particularly worried about this because I knew I would never betray my friends, and that if I did die, it would have been for the good of others. I was most worried about the planning side of this. How are we going to get to the west coast? I made the journey once before with my mom, getting here, and I was pretty sure I could get us back to San Francisco. In the morning I got up at 4:00 am to do some last minute prepping. I was going to be the first time I left Camp in seven years.

I arrived at our meeting place a few minutes early. Everyone was already there, nervously fidgeting.

“Geez Solange, why do you have so many bags?” I dropped the two large duffel bags I was carrying on the ground, and started pulling smaller plastic bags out of them.

“I took the time to grab some essentials we’ll all need. They’re separated in to packages of equal weight, so don’t complain.” I had brought a large portion of the nectar and ambrosia supply, twelve magic plates, bandages, some golden drachma, mortal money, and matches.

“You’re such a soccer mom.” teased Zora. I rolled my eyes.

“But let’s get real guys, how are we going to get to the west coast? We can’t take a plane, or at least Hali probably shouldn’t.” I pointed out.

“Well we could take two vans. It wouldn’t be good long term because of the scent. Honestly, splitting up would probably attract less monsters. Then I think we could take public transportation once we get to New York.” said Brae. “We could get there in under a week.”

“I think I know where some shelters are as well.” I added.

“Ok, that sounds like a plan.” said Mason.

Alana drove one van while I drove the other. I didn’t know how to get to NYC, so there was a lot of fighting.

“You turn right in half a mile.” shouted Mason from the back row.

“No! You have to get on the freeway!” said Alana.

“I have a map! She has to turn right!”

“I’m FROM New York! I should know what I’m doing!”

“You take a left as soon as possible.” said Colin from the passenger seat next to me.

“What? No!!”

I sighed. I knew it wouldn’t be long until we started fighting.

@Catsclaw, sorry, the spots are closed.

@girlonfire, can my charrie betray? See my reasoning on the page before.

Hali~

I sit in the back as everyone argues with Solange. Finally, I can’t take it anymore.

“Guys! Please! Solange, take a right on the next freeway and travel down it until you get to Exit 122. I’ve been studying this map for a while.”

Silence fills the van abruptly and Solange mutters, “Thank you.”

I stare out the window in silence, and rest my tired head on Alana’s shoulder. I did not get enough sleep, but it’s because of the nightmare.

I think back to it and shudder. Not now.

I look towards everyone else. Silas is listening to music, which isn’t a surprise, Mason’s on his phone, and Colin’s staring out the other window. We decided to ditch the two vans and climb into the Toyota 12 seater. I don’t know what the others in the back are doing, and I’m too lazy to look.

The van rolls along peacefully, and another hour passes by before Solange turns into the freeway. I sit up and look towards the back. Everyone’s sleeping, and I feel slightly bad for calling everyone up so early.

“You okay?” Colin asks.

I nod and smile. “As good as I can be.”

He smirks and continues to look out the window, when I glimpse something strange.

There’s a man standing in the now somewhat empty road, and he’s not moving.

He has blue hair and pale green skin. My eyes widen in realisation.

“Stop the car,” I say.

“What?” Solange asks.

“Stop the car!” I exclaim, and Solange slams on the breaks.

Protests erupt from the back, and I shove open the van door while staggering out.

I head towards the front where I saw him, but he’s gone.

“Hali, what are you doing?” Silas asks.

I shake my head. “No. He was here...I SAW him, he was HERE!”

“Hali?” Aubri asks. “You okay?”

“I saw him.”

“Who?” Solange asks.

I shake my head. “Oceanus.”

I think as soon as everyone has at least posted about meeting at the spot to confirm everyone's still following along, we can continue.

We can change the number twelve in the prophecy if necessary, and the prophecy should be interpreted through the story however you want! I did not want to control the specifics, and usually prophecies are vague. I think the characters should decided that is the body of water that they need to reach.

The car ride itself wasn't so bad. I was wedged between Max and Braelyn, but growing up with step-siblings made me used to that. Alana was driving us, and after arguing who was a better map person, Aubri got to sit in the front. I was just happy I wasn't in the back. Suddenly, Aubri slammed on the brakes. Since their was no middle seat belt, I went crashing into the seats ahead of me. Ouch.

 I felt a bruise on my head, but I pushed open the door to see Hali standing outside with Aubri and Silas. Hali looked at me with fear and anger in her eyes. I suddenly felt a chill shiver down my spine. I walked back into the car.

"What's going on?" Alana asked.

"From what i've pieced together, Hali saw Oceanus." Braelynn gasped, Max looked shocked, and Alana rushed outside. Suddenly, a wave of dizzyness took over me. I put my hands on my head and feel blood. I slowly collapse onto the car floor, and fade from conciousness.

@PinkPanther, I think Hali being the one to turn on them would be a good idea.

Storm asked about the area they are going to, and I think Marina trench might be a good location. It's in the Pacific ocean, and it's (sort of) near Japan, which might be kind of far away. It's the deepest part of the ocean.

Also, I made a typo and had Alana driving a van and sitting in Solange's car, so sorry about that.

Hali~

“Dylan!” Aurora’s voice rings out.

We look towards her and see Dylan on the ground, with a pool of blood around his head.

I get to him and kneel down, checking his pulse.

“He’s alive. I need water, a water bottle, anything.”

Silence. Everyone’s in shock.

“WATER! SOMEONE! NOW!”

Solange snaps out of it and hands me a water from her pack, and I quickly let it flow to my hands. I manipulate it so it directly flows to Dylan’s head. I see the blood thinning out and dispersing, and the gash in his head fades out.

Within seconds, he gasps suddenly, his eyes wide and darting around.

“Hey, you’ll be fine,” I reassure him.

Colin helps him to sit up as Dylan shakes his head.

“What happened?” Colin asks.

“I...I don’t know. I felt dizzy and then passed out.”

“Oceanus?” Alana asks.

He shrugs his shoulders. “I’m not sure.”

“Oceanus has followers,” I say. “We need to be careful. Anyone could be a soldier for him.”

Aubrina~

I heard a thump from behind me, and turned around from talking to Halli.

"Dylan!" I shreaked. Hali ran to him and propped his head up on her knees. "He's bleeding on his head."

"We need ambrosia and nectar-stat!" Silas shouted.

"I've got your covered." Solange quickly ran up with her supplies in her bag, and shot a look at Zora. "Told you that they'd come in handy."

"What's wrong? What happened? Why are we stopped?" Everyone clamored. "I'm hungry..." Someone else complained.

"EVERYBODY QUIET!" Hali shreaked. Everyone shut up after that. "Sorry." She apologized. "We just need some space right now. Everyone just take a step back. We'll be on our way soon."

All the others obeyed promptly, while I quietly crept away from the group, I needed some space-Dylan getting hurt was my fault. I couldn't let anyone else get hurt. There was a forest nearby, which I ran to, just a few paces away from the group. I needed to clear my thoughts. "I wish Caleb was here..."

I waited there for a while, trying to think of anything else other than the thought that i hurt Dylan when I heard someone from the group shout "He's waking up. He's going to be ok!"

I breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness for that.

"Hey-where's Aubri?" Someone else shouted. I think it was Braelynn.

"Aubri? Aubri!"

I slunk further in the trees, not wanting to be found. At least, not yet.

"Hello Aubri." An eerie voice spoke from behind me. "I've been waiting for you."

I turned around. "Oceanus..."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So... I just saw that PinkPanther posted. I don't know if this will go with her post, but we'll see. I like the idea of Hali turning on the others. I also have an idea-what if Oceanus tries to talk to all of the Demigods, seeing if one of them will turn, which all decline, until he talks to Hali and gets in her head? I don't know-just an idea. We'll see.
That sounds like a cool idea; we could all share how Oceanus interacted with our specific charrie.
sorry I haven't posted ina while, I'm working on it now, but.... Bob R, sure our charries can be friends, and @Pink panther/Mystery for now....I was wondering if Hali and Kathlynn could be in a riverly for some reason,
@Joan, it pretty much fit, and I like your idea.
@Annabeth, sure! Maybe Kathlynn thinks that Mason likes Hali, even though she doesn’t.
~Silas Geltz
"I don't like this place." I said as Hali and Solange helped Dylan get healed.
I kept my bows and arrows hidden within a large trenchcoat, and as of now, I kept a hands in my pockets, ready to dart out and grab my arrows.
I suddenly felt a large, looming presence. It wasn't hostile, yet it wasn't pleasent either.
I immediately began to play some downloaded music: an energetic Heathers song.
I walked into the bushes where I sensed the presence.
Aubri turned around to a creature and whispering, "Oceanus!"
"I see you have a friend." the thing said. The presence that I sensed came from something that was most certainly not Oceanus. It was a human-like creature, but was made out of water, if you look closely, from the puddle that it stood upon.
Aubri's gaze did not move.
"What reason do you have to fight me?" Oceanus asked.
"And it's time we opened our eyes." said the song about the same time.
I turned the volume down with a tap in annoyance.
"I have done nothing wrong. All the oracle said was that you had to defeat me. It gave you no clear reason to do so," Oceanus boomed. "What I am doing, is removing all hate and wrongs from this world. The pantheon is corrupt, and so are your so-called friends. They may seem kind to you, but notice that they think you are useless as an Aphrodite."
I skipped the song to one I deemed more appropraite. The villainous character sang, "They're keeping you away from me, they made you blind, messed up your mind, but I can set you free!"
"As for you, Silas," Oceanus turned his head to look at me. Shoot, did he notice I compared him to J.D. in his villainous mental state? "You know what I say is true. The others think the same of you as well. They already have an Apollo to help them, another one without much talent except in memorizing music lyrics to them is useless compared to Solange's healing. I know you have skills that the others may not realize. Join me."
@Storm, I got the references! XD
Hali~
As the others help Dylan to get back to his previous self, I watch as Silas leaves and I find myself following out of pure curiosity.
“Where are you going?” Alana asks.
“Stay here for a sec,” I reply, walking towards the woods on the side of the road.
She nods and continues to hold down the fort while I take a few steps into the wooded area.
I silently follow Silas, and I can hear the music bleeding from his headphones, so he doesn’t know I’m there.
Finally I stop and hide behind a large tree as he watches a creature and Aubri talking.
I raise an eyebrow. It’s not Oceanus, but it’s made of water. One of Oceanus’ soldiers, no doubt.
Wait.
I remember on my fifth birthday, my dad gave me a book to all mythological sea creatures. I loved it, but he told me in sudden seriousness to stay away from a few. One was the Headless Seahorse Man (which I knew he was joking about). Another was the Queen of the Underground Ocean. The last was the Man Made of Water.
The Man Made of Water could manipulate anyone into drowning, by either talking to them and saying they should fall into the sea, or by threatening them in a non-threatening way.
I listen to the dialogue taking place between the three of them and my eyes widen as he tells them that they are worthless and unneeded. Finally, I can’t take it anymore.
“Surf’s up,” I say, walking out from my hiding place.
Silas whips around as Aubri and the Man look up.
“Hali, how nice of you to join us,” the Man says. His eyes harden when I smirk.
“Oh. I’m just here to get Aubri and Silas. Maybe later?”
He shakes his head and chuckles. “Why do you think it’ll be that easy?”
“You can’t drown me,” I reply. “So you have no defence. Bye!”
I grab Aubri’s arm and push Silas slightly in front of me. His words are still in their heads, I can tell.
He roars in anger.
“And you can tell Oceanus that he needs to try harder!” I yell back as we reach the road.
“What happened?” Alana gasps, seeing the dazed states of the two.
“Oceanus’ minion got to their head,” I reply. “They just need to sit, and make sure that they don’t think they’re useless. We need everyone in this fight.”
Alana nods in understanding, and takes them away while I go to a desolated spot on the road.
Oceanus is really trying to turn someone against us. Someone that he knows will be powerful against everyone else. The prophecy says it will happen.
But the question is, who will it happen to?
I’ve already crossed myself off the list, along with the other Big Three kids. We’re not vulnerable, right? Our parents wouldn’t send us on this quest to just watch one of us turn.
But at the same time, I haven’t seen the full extent of Oceanus’ powers, so it could be anyone. I shudder at the thought.
It could be anyone
Hello? Does anyone still remember Aurora? No one has really seemed to put her in their posts. If no one cares about her being in the story, I might quit. Even though she’s the one who’s going to sacrifice herself. I’m not trying to be rude, but it feels like no one even cares about Aurora. :/
If I get even a single reply to this, I’ll post her next part. Otherwise I may quit. :(
I’ve mentioned her several times in my posts. Please keep in mind that there are 12 of us, so it’s hard to give everyone dialogue. But no one is intentionally leaving you out, so don’t quit. :)
