Spirit Animals RP?

Spirit Animals RP?

Spirit Animals RP?

I was looking back at old RPs, and I found that I particularly enjoyed Claaws's Spirit Animal RP. I considered what I liked and it's flaws. I am using some of the ideas from the RP (if you see this, Claaws and former members of the RP, let me know if this is ok!), as well as using some of my own.

In a world that looks almost exactly like ours, there is something peculiar. In history books, they mention lost texts about magic, and modern magic. Magic, unfortunately, is feared. A thousand years ago, the "Shadow King" terrorized the continent with dragon blood, which gave him magical abilities. Magic can only be gained by blood or artifical means, which made the humans very weak against his powers. The Shadow King killed all he considered a threat, and was killed by King Quentin Thorn and Queen Theresa Thorn, who crowned themselves the new lord of the realm. The Thorn King and Queens have ruled since that time peacefully, and hunted down everyone with magical abilities.

Yet in every hundred thousand individuals, they are born with animal magic. They are known as Anima. Anima are considered dangerous outlaws, and will be hunted down if their abilities are discovered by the Thorn Kings. Anima can change into their spirit animal, and each have a unique magic associated with it in addition to their ability to speak to their animal species. Anima live very long, yet many get hunted down before reaching their full magical potential. The password is "spina rosas". An Anima of the past called Crow is famous for his skill, abilities, and age, yet some rumors say he still lurks in the forests. Everyone in school is taught to fear magic and learn to hunt down anyone who possesses it. It is uncertain how people become Anima, for even one who is kept far away from magic can become one.

Currently, there is news of an Anima rebellion, hidden somewhere in the realm to demand to the king to not hunt down Anima. The King has formed the Hunter's League in response, training skilled Anima hunters to put them down.

If you are an Anima, you can be already with the rebellion, or going around your normal life. Maybe you've joined the Hunter's League unaware of your powers.

You can have as many as two charries. Do be specific with the animal, and no two people can have the same animal(it can be a similar species, but not the same). If it is a domestic animal, do include what breed it is. Do not be too broad (ex. beetle), but mentioning a specific subspecies is not necessary. As long as we understand what the general shape and appearance of the animal is.

If you are a human, do remove the sections below that say "animal" and "animal appearance".

All characters going about their normal life and not with the rebellion would begin in Fountain Point High School. I will help push the story along once we begin.

Okay, so am I in? If so, here's my post.

Joy~

Princess Zoe came to our school today. She told us about the dangers of Anima. How they are a threat. How they are illegal and should be hunted. How I am illegal and should be hunted. I found that I was unable to do anything but look straight ahead. I could feel her gaze boring into me, even when she wasn't looking at me, as if she knew I was an Anima, or didn't trust me for some other reason. I told my self it was just my imagination.

The other thing? I thought I heard a murmur of uneasiness, or even fear, behind me. The princess didn't, and I couldn't turn around. But it was enough to plant a seed in my mind. Maybe someone else felt bad for the Anima. Was it too much to hope that someone else was an Anima?

I got up my courage and looked at the princess. Really looked, not just stared like a dead bug. I shuddered inwardly at the comparison. I told my fingers to stop twitching, my legs to stop trembling, then looked up and met her eyes.

~~~
Ooh, drama! I just wanted to make clear that Joy doesn't start out brave.
Laylanie says uvye? Do you see ultraviolet rays? What do they look like? Now she says oign. They look like an organ?
I’m planning to make the girl that Avi meets a major player and character, so I’m going to fill out her sheet. She’s human.
Name: Moira
Age: 17 (she’s tall, which is why Avi thought she was older)
Personaltiy: Calculating, easily annoyed, speaks out, tries to act like she’s not scared of anything. Loyal.
Human Appearance: Long, frizzy, black braid. When hair is taken out, it’s very curly and messy. Dark purple eyes. Dark skin (like, african american). Wears an orange long sleeve shirt and leggings, and combat boots.
Skills: Speed, combat, knife fighting, telling Anima from regular animals. Also can pick locks.
Background: Family is very loyal to the Thorns as Moira’s grandfather was almost killed by an Anima loyal to the Shadow King and the Thorns saved him. Pushed Moira into becoming a Hunter. She knows there’s something up about the Anima- they seem more organized, and the place they flee too is always the same- but when she tries to talk about her theory she always gets the same response. “Just stop badgering us about it. If there is a threat, the king and queen will tell you how to deal with it.” The Thorns don’t know about Avi yet.
Password: spina roses
Other: Becomes Avi’s friend and eventually her girlfriend. (Moira’s lesbian- Avi’s pansexual).
Avi-
The green-and-brown hummingbird flew next to the schoolroom window. After checking to make sure no one was watching, Avi flew in and settled on a desk. The girl who said desk belonged too was sleeping, or at least Avi was pretty sure she was. She noticed that the girl’s hair color was weirdly similar to the boy who the Hunter had chased down an hour or two ago. After that, the Hunters had given her a mission- to fly into the school, which they suspected was a nest full of Anima.
In front of the class, putting everyone to sleep with sheer boringness, was Princess Zoë Thorn, leader of the Hunters. “Anima could be everywhere, disguised as regular, rule-abiding humans or as animals, like they truly are. One could even be in the classroom right now!” Avi tried her best to look inconspicuous. “They are a danger to our kingdom, and must be stopped!” Avi grinned. Yeah, we’re real dangerous. A bird Anima might even poop on your head and ruin your perfect hair! Honestly, she was considering it. That would probably get the class to pay attention. She shouldn’t do it. Avi was living on the edge as it was. But on the other hand, her whole life was basically seeing how many toes she could put out of line. And eating honey. Honey was good.
Then she realized why the Hunters had sent her here on this particular day. She saw several people looking uncomfortable, like they were being personally hurt. A silvery-haired girl was working intently on something, and nervously scanning the room every few seconds. Another girl was literally leaving school, trying to casually sidle out the door. A blue-eyed boy was looking at Zoë skeptically, and a small girl was trembling in her seat. But how to find out if they were Anima? Then Avi smiled. She had the best idea.
A very surprising thing happened in class that day. A hummingbird, minding their own business, flew behind Her Highness Princess Zoë. Then, somehow, a brown-haired human girl with a mischievous expression on her face appeared behind her. She disappeared, and the hummingbird was visible again. They flew to the door, and then the girl was there again. She beckoned, and then fled the class. Princess Zoë winked at her, which was a bit startling to Avi as well- of course, the princess knew she was there, but she had never acknowledged the bird girl before.
Avi managed to hold in her laugh until she was out of the school, then sprawled on the grass, giggling. She didn’t know if the Anima would be completely put over, but she’d bet a flowerful of nectar that soon at least a few would have some questions to ask her.
What if Aerron has two forms, not like an Anima though. Like her soul is a silver dragon's soul, but she's trapped in a human's body, and she can change into a silver dragon at will... Something like that. Or she can be a dragon that can shapeshift... Help?
I'm sorry, but I am dropping out. I would rather not go into the details of why, in order not to offend anyone. However, I am a strong believer in being transparent and honest about one's thoughts and feelings, so that everyone understands each other and doesn't get mad at each other. I will just say that my reason for dropping out has to do with what I believe, so please understand. Thanks!
Kailen's head was spinning. Why would anyone openly reveal themselves as in Anima in literally the same room as someone who was hunting them down every second of every day? And why would any Anima risk their life, and the lives of others in the room for the sake of a joke? Nothing made sense. Kailen glared into the piercing eyes of Princess Zoe intently. She continued to ramble on, ignoring the shocked students who were staring open mouthed out the door. She seemed oblivious of the excited whispering that filled the room, and the fact that no-one seemed to be paying an ounce of attention to her dull monologue. Kailen was about to look away, when Princess Zoe matched his gaze, boring into his eyes and seeming to ask him a million questions all at once. Kailen opened his mouth, all of a sudden feeling the urge to tell her everything. Then he shut it again. Princess Zoe gave him a knowing smile and dropped her gaze. Kailen shook his head. Something didn't feel right. But he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
I'm changing my character's gender, but everything is about the same on my charrie sheet. We need more male characters!
~Valerius Amaterasu Patrick
Princess Zoe visited, eyeing everyone like they could be Anima as she explained their dangers and what the Hunter's guild did. I thought of my adopted father, who has explained the basic workings of the guild to me a billion times. I looked intently at the little origami shuriken I was making between my hands while glancing around to see if anyone noticed. After her talk, I walked around campus for the break. All seemed quite normal. Suddenly out of nowhere, there was an explosion, smoke coming out of the cafeteria. There were screams. I went into the cafeteria and there stood a dragon.
"OUR KING WILL RISE UP AGAIN!" he roared. "THE SHADOW KING WILL RETURN!"
Sorry this took so long. I just got back from a four day vacation at the mountains!
~Serifina
Serifina looked around. Could Princess Zoe Thorne acutally be here? Yes! Serifina almost turned into a mare. Princess Zoe began talking about the Hunter's Guild. Serifina took a bajillion notes on it. I'll write a report on the Hunter's Guild and Anima. That will get everyone's attention!, Serifina thought. At lunch, Serifina was sitting with some normal people, or non-Animas. Suddenly a dragon swooped down and spit out fire. Serfina screamed and turned into a mare. She galloped away. Everyone was gaping at her. Shoot. I'm in real trouble now! , Serifina thought.
"Princess Thorn talked to our class today," I reported to my friends.
"Ya." One of them scoffed. "Ours too."
"Really?" I asked, genuinely surprised.
"Omygosh." She scoffed, shaking her head. "Yes, the whole school was visited by her. Same speech every year. You know, the same speech we've been listening to our whole lives."
"Ya. Right." I said, grabbing my sandwich to take a bite.
Suddenly a sense..almost like an instinct filled my veins. Something was telling me that we needed to get out of here- now. I dropped my sandwich. "Guys."
They looked up. "We should go."
"Ya sure ok, once I'm done eating."
"Now."
They exchanged glances. The roof moved, subtilly, like there was something on top of it. It seemed like I was the only one that noticed it. "Let's go out into the courtyard!"
I ushered them into the courtyard right as the cafeteria exploded.
There was a dragon. He roared something about the Shadow King and SJay reflected on how she should have been paying attention during those many lectures...
"He killed Princess Zoe!"
The High School erupted in chaos.
SJay could only stare as the building toppled down all around her.
Did this have something to do with those stupid Amina? Were they causing this? Were they going to be the very death of her?
Anger built up inside of her. Why would they do this to her perfectly normal high school?!
Lol sorry, don't know what to write. Hope that's ok! Also guys, can we start interacting with other peoples characters? I'm sure it'll make this RP just that much more interesting!
Serifina ran as fast as she could, to the Hunter's Guild HQ. " I got spooked, and was caught." she said. " Zoe kept digging her eyes into my soul." A loud noise erupted from the shadows. " What the-" Serfina couldn't finish her sentence.
Avi~
Avi was feeling guilty. The Anima hadn't done anything wrong- well, probably. If all Anima were like her and her brother, she was pretty sure they had, but that wasn't the point. The point was that she was going to help kill a bunch of kids, just so she could be safe herself. Well, not klll- they'd just be "apprehended". Avi had no idea what that meant, or whether it was English, but Princess Zoë had said it in such a dangerous tone that it probably wasn't good. Maybe... none of the Anima were coming, seemed like, so she could avoid making the choice. But Avi knew that wasn't the right way to do things. You couldn't just skip all the important descisions, because then people do worse things.
Avi shook her head vigorously. She was not, usually, an ethical person, and all the twists and turns of her argument were giving her a headache. She could smell the flowers growing in the grass, and flashed into a hummingbird, sucking the nectar. The great thing about being a hummingbird Anima is that Avi could-and did- live on sugar- and the occasional fruit or nut, but she ate those mainly for the flavor.
An hour or two passed, and Avi was most decidedly bored. If this is what it was like to be a Hunter, she didn't know why anyone would sign up. Finally, a boy approached, looking guarded, and a girl trailed after him. Both Avi had suspected to be Anima, and she gave herself a mental high-five.
"Are you an Anima?" the boy asked.
"Yeah," Avi said. "Good job for figuring that out. You get a cookie!"
"Seriously?" he muttered to himself, "This is looking more and more sketchy by the minute. Do you know about the rebellion?"
"Um," Avi said, feeling like a deer in headlights. Of course she did, but probably not in the way the boy was thinking.
And then, the dragon attacked.
****
NOTE: I was seeing the boy and girl as Kallien and Joy, but if you want your charries to be doing something different/meeting Avi, then sure. I don't want to godmod, but someone needed to come over or Avi would actually die of boredom.
Kailen and Joy marched across the way lawn in search of the hummingbird girl. "If she so obviously wanted to be found," huffed Joy. "Why did she choose such a difficult spot to hide?" Kailen liked the way that Joy talked.  She spoke in such a mysterious voice about almost anything, it was impossible to not be intregued when she opened her mouth.
Kailen shrugged his shoulders. Maybe the girl didn't want to be found afterall. Maybe....maybe this was a tr-
"Over there!" Joy cried.
***
Kailen sensed that there was something different about this girl, and he didn't like it. But she looked like she was just about to crack. Kailen was so full of questions that were all jumbled up in his head, but before he could open his mouth to utter a single word, he felt a searing pain the back of his neck. Kailen whipped around. He heard Joy behind him scream "Dragon!"
