The Revolution: A Role PLay

Its the year of 1781, one year away from the end of the Revolutionary war. On one particularily cold October morning, Timothy Joval, a retired soldier, wanders into a beautiful large estate, miles long and stretching scapes overlooking the frozen Potomac River. While wandering this beauitiful estate, he finds a huge mansion on a rather large hill. It's the utter definition of elegance. Overtaken by curiosity, Timothy decides to explore the many brick buildings and gardens. He only planned to be on the land for a day, then leave, but a blizzard made him take lodging in the stable. Only one night thought he. But fate would not have it so. Plunged head first into a journey of life or death. They need only to save the one person who had saved so many others.

Timothy had not just stumbled onto an estate. He stubled onto the estate.

Mount Vernon, the home of General George Washington.

~~~
SO! The premise is that Timothy, a soldier who was wounded when in the war, finds himself thrown into the trip of a lifetime with a group of servants to stop an assassination plot to kill General Washington. Through this Timothy must strive to gain the trust of the other servants and to trust others. Or America might not be what it is today.
~~~

You all will be playing the hired hands/servants and/or a few others. Here's a list of who you can be.

1) Two servants in the house. One younger and one a bit older (The age of a head servant at least 25, but I may lower that)

2) One stable girl/guy. Whatever works for you.

3) One young Lieutenant. Maybe a Captain.

4) I'm thinking two other roles that you guys want to fill in. Make it something believable but have fun with it!

So in all about six or seven people are allowed in this RP... maybe more, if you find the right spot.

Tim-

I sit facing the warmth of the fire. The flames cast shadows across the walls of the tiny house, room more like it, but I am thankful for the girls generosity.

She gives me a coat, about a size to large but I take it gladly. She softly smiles and sits down.

“So, what’s your name, and why are you here?”

I breath in.

“My Name’s Timothy. I-“

I pause, as what to say to her second quiestion. Well, I am here to get out of the cold, to survive the night.

”Im just passing by. Somewhere warm to stay for the night,” I explain. “What about you? What’s your name?”

She looks into the flames.

“True. My name is True. And I’m here because-  because I can be.”

She fiddles with her bracelets. She smiles shortly and gets up.

“Well,” She says quickly. “I’m sure your hungry. Ill just go and see if I can grab a thing or two.” She wraps her scarf around her long brown hair, and heads for the rickety door.

I stand and quickly take off my cap.

“Um, miss? If you don’t mind could you not tell anyone I’m here? It’ll be no harm surely, as I’m only staying a night.” I ring my hat in my hand as she contemplates.

Slowly she says, “Yes. But on one condition. You can’t leave this house unless I tell you. I could get in a lot of trouble and if anyone saw you, you most likely would be locked into the cellar. Sound good?”

”Much obliged Miss.”

She heads out the door, and I sit back down. There was no worry I would go out into that storm. I haven’t been warm by a fire in many a week.

How’s this? I wanted to write longer and put more stuff in it but I’m kinda crammed for time.

@EVERYONE

Hopefully in the next post I’ll be able to get at least two more charities in the story. Right now my train of thought is that one of the servants, or even possibly Lelia charrie could find Tim somehow and tell the General. Than after we get Tim settled to be a servant, than the assassination plot takes part. Thoughts?

BE QUIET

~~~
I walk through the forest on silent feet, serching, waiting. There, movement! I quietly pull out my bow and string a arrow, ready to strike. It's a doe, with a fawn. The fawn is way too young to live without it's mother, I observe as I lower my bow. The doe passes through and the forest is quiet once again before there is a growl. I whip around to face a large grey wolf, stalking twards me. I quickly pull up my bow but the wolf jumps and my cry of pain echos through the forest. I grab my arrow and drive it through the wolf's eye, killing it, just before Gideon crashed through the trees near me.
Gideon heaves the wolf off of me and helps me up, I can't put weight on my left leg and, against my will, I let out a sharp gasp of pain.
"Sit back down son," My adoptive father hits his forehead with his hand "I should have assesed you for injuries first."
"Je pense autre chose que ma jambe, c'est juste mon bras. (I t-think* other than my leg it's just my a-arm.)" I switch back to my native language but Gideon can still understand me as I rotate my forearm to show him the bite that I got when the wolf attacked. My leg injury was probably from it lunging at me and knocking me back.
Gideon grabs the wolf and helps me walk by holding my good arm under his shoulder while dragging the wolf behind us. Gideon drops me off at the cabin, there are two cabins one for me, the hunter's apprentice, and one for him, the master hunter.
"Be more careful when you're out hunting Fletcher" Gideon calls to me before going to leave the wolf at the kitchens. He knows that I can take care of myself by now.
I'm about to go inside before I see True and a figure of masculin build going into her hut. I tell myself that it's nothing and it's not my buisness until I see True leaving the house. Something fishy is going on. I quickly splint my leg and bandage my arm before hobble-walking over to true's house.
I very quietly knock on the door once, twice, thrice. On the third knock the door swings open and reveals a man who looks to be about 32 staring at me. I lower my hand, calmly look at him, and say "Who are you and why are you in True's house." I study him with practiced ease, "You don't look like anyone who lives here."
I hear footsteps approach before the unidentified male can speak and I turn around quickly, wincing slightly as the movement jarrs my leg. It's True, looking for all the world like she could slap me.
*stutter because he just got attacked and is kinda in shock, he knew it would happen but still.
Hope no one minds if I post again! I know some people haven't yet but...
When I get back from my visit to the main house, I half prepare to see Timothy having wrecked my house. But only half. The other half of me thinks that he will be gone. I don’t trust him, but I’ve learned that sometimes it’s good not to trust people. And even if I did trust him, I still wouldn’t want to be blamed for hiding a stranger in my house. At the same time, I understand that he’s hiding from something, and I also don’t want to be the one who gets in the way of everything he’s hoping for. It could be something bad, but it’s still something that he wants to do, so I want him to be able to do it. It might be something he’ll regret, but I don’t want to be the one to make him regret it. I’ll just stay hidden and let him keep on with his own life. Stella yips at my heels, and I smile down at her. As I ponder this strange man, I hear the snow crunch under my boots. Even loaded up with some bread and cheese, I didn’t expect the crunch to sound that loud. Then it happens again, when I’m not moving, and I look up from my dog to see Timothy opening the door to a suspicious Fletcher. He turns when he hears me coming, and I almost feel like slapping him. Not only will I get in trouble by just about everyone when he tattles on me, something will happen to the strange man that somehow ended up here. And I don’t want anything to happen to anyone. I mean, I’ve had a lot of bad “somethings” happen to me, and I don’t want any other people to have to live through bad things either. Especially not because of me. But maybe… Why would Timothy open the door to anyone, even one of my friends, if he really did want to stay hidden?
“Um.” Fletcher nervously stammers. I can tell he’s in shock by multiple things right now. And even though he doesn’t speak much English, um is a universal word. Or sound. Whatever. His leg looks hurt, I think, but that’s not a problem right now.
“It’s fine; I know about him. Duh.” I pause, debating between my options. “Don’t tell anyone because- actually, I have no idea why,” I say with a direct logic, raising my eyebrows at the man standing on the inside of my door. I walk inside quickly, dropping the food on the couch. “Come on in, Fletcher, and let Timothy explain to both of us. And, Timothy,” I set my straight stare into his blank eyes. “You better explain. I don’t want to let anything happen to you, but I also don’t want my ignorance to hurt me.”
