A dark figure sat at the end of a long table, seated atop a throne made of polished white quartz and shimmering sapphires. Her eyes were sad...but narrowed in a queenly sort of way. "Friends," she began, looking over the four other leaders gathered around her, on thrones less adorned and lower than hers. "A time of great sorrow is coming upon our Empires. My Sage has predicted a darkness coming to consume our empires. The FIve Empires, the Empires that have been around longer than our great great ancestors, then any ruler we have met snout-to-snout."

The creature on the Amethyst throne barred his teeth. "How can we trust your Sage? She predicted a peaceful end to the War of Power, that if we all surrendered to you then no more lives had to be given. We surrendered to you, Emperor, but blood was lost still." His teeth glinted in the light of the torches around them as his yellow eyes narrowed rebelliously.

The Emporer made a tisking sound through her teeth. "Prophetic skills can be... misleading and vague at times. Yes, you surrendered, but it was not my warriors who shed blood. It was the Outcasts." Her face darkened and she drew her head away dramatically. "I should have seen the signs then! Maybe there wouldn't be need for these... drastic measures now."

Claws tapped on the table as a cat, with blood-shot eyes, growled impatiently, "And what are these drastic measures? Every moment I spend here with you, another bomb goes off, more lives are lost." The Rose-quartz throne groaned as the striped cat shifted her weight.

The dark creature sitting at the end of the table gave her a stone-hard glare, for merely a second, before regaining her poster and booming, "we must find the Five Jewels."

The room got deathly still. The tiger's claws stilled. "Are you insane?!" Hooves crashed down on the table so loud it made the tiger jump. "For thousands of years, our Empires have been trying to recover these stones. Thousands of years! Not once was anyone even close to success. During the last war, I doubt none of you didn't send out an animal to try and trace yours down as your kingdom was falling. These Jewels are meant for a time when everything else fails! Let's not get ahead of ourselves before we risk the lives of another 10 young animals."

The dragon smirked. "But everything else has failed. I-,"

"How?!" Demanded a young animal with glossy war-free fur from atop a jade throne. "We can defeat them as we've defeated every other rebellious Outcast group. With bombs, spies, traitors, it won't be long until they retreat. We are strong, even if our land is still scared with war. And I hate to point this out, but most are from your Empire. Most are dragons."

The dark dragon Queen barred her fangs and tried to keep a calm tone. "Which makes them even more dangerous, Xerocole. You more then anyone should know what dangers each one holds." The wild dog pressed back her ears and looked away.

"Now." The dragon queen began, her tongue sliding over her fangs as her eyes studied the leaders around her, the leader's under her control. "At the new moon, each will pick two children, 16, to be the new Finders of the Jewel. You will bring them to me by morning the next day, or your Empires will have... some ransom to pay by nightfall. These children will set off, following the ancient map. They will find the Rose Elephant of the Empire of the Trees, the Amethyst Dolphin of the Empire of the Sea, the Jade Cat of the Empire of the Sand, the Silver Wolf of the Empire of the Rock, and most importantly the Dimond Dragon of the Kingdom of the Sky. They will battle the beasts that guard them, and the obstacles that protect them. For the good of the Five Empires, I believe they will succeed. It was foretold that they will succeed, and bring a stop to the darkness that is corrupting our home." She looked over the gathered animals, who mostly looked annoyed or frightened. The crocodile, the wild dog, the tiger, and the moose, all holding such power and respect, all under her control, all forced to follow her commands. "Dismissed."

Okay! Here is my Solo Write! It was an idea that was running through my head so I was like, why not? Also, I'm a procrastinator who always loves an excuse to put hw off to the last moment! That being said, I'm a busy person and may or may not be able to update regularly.

For those of you who didn't read that, here is a little explanation (plus some)

- The Empires are the Empire of the Sea, the Empire of the Rock, the Empire of the Sand, the Empire of the Trees, and the Empire of the SKy. All have their own characteristics, but we'll get to that in a moment.

- The Empire of Sky has taken over the other four Empires in the war known as the War of Power. It began with the Empire of Sky wanting to take over the other four, and then the other four fighting back, and then the Empire of Sky turning the four against each other, ultimately resulting in the Empire of Sky as victor, and supreme ruler of the other Four.

- The Five Jewels are extremely powerful relics that are said to be able to give an Empire supreme power and superiority and peace, if used correctly. The Dragon Queen (as she calls herself) hopes these relics will chase away the Outcasts and protect all five Empires from Rebellion, war, corruption, and darkness.

- The Outcasts are creatures who have been exiled from the Empires and live in the barren land around them. They have formed almost a terrorist like group and are slowly tarring the Empires up from the inside. These Outcasts usually include hybrids of various Empires. Usually of the dragon-type.

Mkay! Sorry this is so long you can probably skip over most of this, look at the charrie sheet, and then come back and read everything you need to know for your character.

The Empire of the Trees- Usually Jungle/ Forest animals, like tigers, deer, birds of paradise, capybaras, elk, etc. Their territory stretches from small, colder forests to larger, denser forests, to rainforests. Their colors are pink and gold and their stone is Rose Quartz. Their Emperess is Temperate the Siberian Tiger.

The Empire of the Sea- You guessed it, sea creatures. Also, freshwater creatures, they own a bit of territory inland where there is a lot of swamps and marshes and lakes. Uninhabited land to any other Empire, although there was a war over it with the Empire of Trees at some point long ago. Their colors are dark purple and blue and their stone is an Amythist. Their Emperor is Cove the Salt-water Crocodile.

The Empire of the Sand- Desert animals, includes scorpions, jackals, cougars, antelope, camels, and rattlesnakes. They have the most territory of all the empires, although most is uninhabitable, and they gain new territory from Empires with growing desserts every year. They also drop the deadest territory to the Outcasts, when not even them want to live in such scorching heat. Their colors are light greenish-yellow and fire red, and their stone is a Jade. Their Emperess is Xerocole the Wild Dog.

The Empire of Stone- Mountain and tundra animals, including wolves, polar bears, reindeer, bison, marmots, and hawks. Their territory is the most far north, and there have been fights over forests at the edge of their territory, and higher mountains and land. Their colors are brown and grey, and their stone is silver. Their Emporer is Altitude the Moose.

The Empire of Sky- Dragons. Dragons of any type at all. This is the only Empire with powers like prophecy (You can come up with others but I must approve it). Their territory was the tallest mountains and valleys, the closest land they can get to the sky. Often have the least amount of territory, and as their ranks expanded, this was a key factor of the start of the War of Power. Now 'Guards' litter the rest of the Empire's land, as dragons who are more comfortable with the different ecosystems move away. Their colors are black and white, and their stone is a diamond. The Emporer, or as she calls herself, the Queen of Dragons, is named Queen Illuminate. (Her powers include blending into the night, breathing lightning-like fire, flying with wings said to spark with blue energy, have claws said to give an electric shock when encountered, and a roar as loud as thunder)

Rules-

1. You can only have one character.

2. There will be two 'chosen' from each Empire. If these spots fill up, you can make an Outcast charrie and I promise I'll work them into the story.

3. Please no OP dragon characters. Queen Illuminate is the most OP anything's going to get.

4. This is a Solo wright. BUT your characters can keep journals and write their thoughts down (or what they'll think will happen next/ should have happened) and I'll keep it in mind.

5. Everyone's 16. Also please follow the character traits of your Empire. And for the Empire of the Sea, please pick a creature that can walk. Just makes things easier. (Also all the creatures age the same in this world)

6. I'll reveal the Jewel legend and map and thing latter, and why 10 16yr olds have to set off to find them and the beasts guarding them etc. And why they were unsuccessful before. Any why they were sent out during the last war if that was unclear.

Hey guys sorry this is taking so long!

I sorta skipped over some less important parts so we can get to the main story faster, sorry! Also I had no motivation to write them.

~Xena

I shivered involuntarily as an ominous wind inforced the uneasiness in the room. The Queen chose that moment to spread her bluish black wings and readjust her position. "Shall we begin?" She surveyed the room with her cold blue eyes. I shivered again. I hated dragons as much as one would hate sand in their eyes. But not because of what they had done, something about them was just... creepy I guess.

I shuffled my paws. "We can begin with introductions." The Emperess boomed. "These two are Eagna and Ximena. I chose these strong individuals for their power, skills, and determination. I don't doubt for a second that they won't let anything get in their way of completing this mission."

The striking violet dragon with the golden claws and sharp eyes raised her head as if she was unused to compliments like this. The small blue one, on the other hand, looked like his ego might burst through the non-existent roof.

The Empress of Sky flicked her wing and Empress Tempress cleared her throat. "Here we have Amistia and Everlast." The doe of the two looked over at Empress Illuminate with stone-cold eyes, like chips of frozen stone almost. The buck looked like he was stone. "I chose them for their intellect and logic, I believe with determination they will be able to solve the puzzles that they will have to endure to find the Rose Elephant."

I felt a sudden wave of nervousment as the Emperor of Sea cleared his throat. "Here we have Samuel and Hazel, as I've already introduced her." He gestured to the otter, who was blinking her eyes, as if her energy was slowly coming back to her as she rested from the probably long journey it took to get here. The duck-billed thing- Samuel didn't move as his name was called, heck he didn't even blink. "I believe they both have promising potential to fulfill this mission."

Empress Illuminate clicked her tongue against her teeth in silent fury. Emporer Altitude and Empress Tempress exchanged a worried glance as Empress Xerocole cleared her throat. "Here we have Xena and Revka. Small but mighty, I chose the fiercest to be apart of this mission." I shrivled away from the many pairs of eyes that had turned to me and my fellow Finder, Revka. "I hope very much that they will succeed, and that we aren't risking their lives for nothing." She cast a death-glare at Empress Illuminate.

Who just simply clicked her tongue against her teeth again and turned to Emporer Altitude. "Here we have Peak and Sweep." They both seemed to hold themselves a little higher. "Exceptional navigators, they will be a key factor in the finding of all the Jewels, not just the Silver Wolf."

I thought I caught the coyote-Sweep, cast a look over at Revka, who was staring at the table either pretending not to care or complaining to herself about something. She complained a lot on our way here.

"Thank you. Nice to meet all of you." The dragoness cast a glance at Hazel. "Here I have supplies, water canteens, some food, and other necessities."

As she continued talking, I saw Empress Xerocole pull a green-colored gravelly-smelling slate from a lemon-grass satchel across her shoulders with pearly white teeth. She glanced at us and I subconsciously turned as she whispered, "one of you two take this, you're going to need it." It looked as if Revka wasn't listening.

"Um, I wi-" I nearly got the sentance out in a squeaky whisper before our Empress tapped Revka on the shoulder, whsipered something to her, and slid it into her paws.

"Okay." I whispered to myself, sinking into my seat. "Not the first time."

~Revka

The Empire of Sky was nothing like the warm sun-scorched sands of the desert. The winds blowing from various openings ruffled my fur to the point of me wanting to claw someone's face off. And the tower was so high up- and with the open corners, someone like -uh- the tiny fox over there could fall right out.

Not that I care or anything.

"We will start with the Dimond Dragon since it's the closest." The Dragon Empress was saying.

Claws and talons, I hated her. She looked like she thought she was just so...supiorior to the rest of us, with the smugness on her face as she ordered us to find her Jewel first.

Actually...maybe that was her plan all along. To get the other Empires on her side thinking they were working together...when, in reality, she was just finding her Jewel to then kill the rest of us with her smug little dragon army...who could breathe fire and things...

I was suddenly aware of eyes burning through my fur. I looked around sharply, my ears flicking forwards, slightly confused, as I realized there was a lot more looking at me then I had thought, or liked for that matter. I saw the little blue dragon by the Queen's side roll his eyes and hide a snicker. I almost bearly managed to not claw the smugness right off his little blue face.

"The map, please," the Empress of Sky snorted impatiently.

I looked down at my paws. The Empire of Sand's map was clenched between them. Emperess Xerocole had given it to me to hold as Empress Illuminate went over what we were supposed to do...or something. "Why?" I questioned so sharply that I shocked myself. "I-I mean," I stuttered quickly. "I thought I was supposed to hold onto it-"

"They will all be stored in the same bag, that Ximena will be carrying." Her claws tapped on the table impatiently, waiting for me to pass it to her.

"Oh. Right." I wondered who Ximena was as I passed the small slate map to the Coyote on my right. He smiled at me slightly as he grabbed it in his jaws and slid it across the table to Empress Illuminate.

Quickly, almost gracefully, she passed it to the eye-catching dragoness on her right, who smiled in her direction before picking the green-colored slate up and storing it in a leather satchel across one of her shoulders (and wing possibly? Dragons were weird).

"Now that everyone has been acquainted and set for the journey-" my mind went blank as I tried remembering when exactly that happened. I must have been too worried about the scheming plans of the two smug-snouted dragons over there to have paid attention to what was happening. "you can set off."

What about supplies? I thought instinctively, before realizing that they must have handed them out when I wasn't paying attention. The two Tree Empire deer-creatures had satchels along with the dragon and coyote. It didn't look like much- but since they had already gone over it I thought better to leave it be. "We will escort you to the beginning of the map. Then of which we have to leave you. I trust my dragons enough to be your guards." I saw the striking-violet-and-gold-colored one stand a little straighter and lift her chin a little higher.

We don't need guards. What does she think we're going to do, run away with the Outcasts? Won't be able to defend ourselves? Likely story. Well except maybe the two Empire of Sea Finders. They might need a whole lot of gaurds. I could bearly hold back my snort of disgust. Empress Xerocole and Tempress exchanged a passive-aggressive glance, but held their tounges. They'd stepped out of line enough today, and they didn't want to put their Empires at risk. I knew that. Sometimes you have to hold back your opinion to ensure safety.

"Come now." Empress Illuminate boomed suddenly, standing up and spreading her wings authoritivly. Almost instantly the great doors were opened by the variously colored guards and she led us down the great tower and to the start of the map to the Dimond Dragon.

"This is where we must leave you, little ones. Follow the maps, the legend with guide you. Please have faith." I clung onto the words of the noble Dragon Queen and bowed my head.

The Five Great leaders of the Five Great Empires all looked at one enother, then turned tail and vanished into the forests, back where they had come.

It was quiet for a few long heartbeats. I shuffled my wings from the thick, knarled pine tree branch that I was perched on.

"So." A little blue dragon- Eagna I belive- pipped up, ruffling his light blue wings slightly. "Uh, let's go, then." He pulled the map out from the other dragon's satchel.

"And who made you our all-great leader?" Snorted the wild cat, Revka I think.

"Well what else do you think we should do?!" Eagna retorded, crinkling his snout.

Revka paused, mouth open, tail lashing. She barred her teeth in defeat and stalked fowards, into the forest. "I think you need the map, sweety." The little blue dragon called after her, waving it in his talons.

"I don't have talons." The she-cat hissed, glaring back at him.

"He's a dragon, love." All eyes went down to the coyotie, looking calm and unbothered as he trotted up to the Sand Empire cat. "Why don't you let him navigate?"

"W-well." Came another voice, the Tree Empire's elk, I think, Everlast. "The Empire of Stone Finders should lead us. Your Emporer told us himself that that was the reason you two were chosen."

My face went blank, and so did the coyoties. "Well." Sweep, I think him name was, looked up at me with a sly glance at Revka. "Peak's the only one with talons."

"Oh." I looked down at my talons, finally getting where this conversation was going. "Yea I can lead."

I opened my wings with a small shuffling sound and dipped down from the tree, swooping up to flap to a stop next to Eagna. He gave me a low look as my feathers caught him on the snout. He gripped the map in his left talon, shuffled his weight on his wings, and handed it to me. I took it, spread my wings and flapped into the air, circling them as I read it.

There was the start of the map, the large Dragon-shaped boulder. And the end....a white dragon shaped boulder. Wow. I can't belive that I of all creatures was chosen for a misson as grand as this! I felt a bought of adreniline run through my blood.

I looked up sharply from the map and stopped, angling my wings to the direction the map was pointing at. North. A large mountain semmingly streaching into space met my gaze. "Wow." I breathed, looking down at the creatures bellow me. It looked like Revka and Eagna were argueing again. I sigh, angled my wings downwards, and landed heavily in the middle of the gathered Finders.

"It's that way." My beak clicked as I said this, my wing guestering north. "Uh...Hazel? You might want to hitch a ride. Um, you too." I flicked my talons at the two Finders of Sea. "We're in for a long hike."

Eagna took that moment to boost. "You mean you have a long hike, I, like most dragons, have wings." He spred his lit blue wings with as much drama and regal-ness as he could muster.

"And I," spat Revka. "Like most mentally sane animals, don't care." Her tail lashed behind her as Sweep tried to hide his smirk.

Eagna opened his mouth, then closed it, as if he was coming to the realization that not everyone thought he was amazing just because he was a dragon. I mean- dragons were pretty cool- but they had taken over all of the other empires in a slightly unfair way.

"Okay!" The other dragon, Ximena, saved her comrads humilliation swiftly. "Let's get started, uh, Peak! Lead the way!" Her golden tipped tail waved gracefully behind her sleek form.

I nodded and spread my wings, leaping into the air. I felt adreniline course through my blood again, and excitment lit the tips of my wings on fire. I felt just like my parents must have during the war, they were scouts for the Empire of Stone. I was leading my comrads to battle.

Journal Entry!

Quest for the Five Jewels

By Eagna Gromfiacail

Hello reader! If you are reading this book. That mean's we finders of the stone have failed and you found this next to my corpse or you picked this up at a library to find out more of our grand adventure.

Hopefully the latter.

I, Eagna, am a wyvern. I have been chosen due to my ability to use poison breath and healing breath. A rare ability that only one wyvern seems to have every 100 years or so. This is my perspective of these events.

I was in my simple Adobe when two Dragons came along entered, I was reading up some good works of Scr'ivkit Achuak. A revolutionary writer of dragon literature. They told me due to having the ability to use both kinds of breath Wyverns are known for. Only one every hundred years or so are born with it. And my parents service to the empire. I have been chosen as one of the two finders of sky.

I have never felt so much joy in my life. To serve my empire not as a soldier or healer. But as a Finder. Once hearing the news I quickly prepared a kit to take with me for this quest. This book being one of them. My father's lucky spoon however being most important of them all. I know it's rather ridiculous to believe but itis true. It's a simple spoon really. With a string tied to it so it can be worn. However my father said it's been in the family for generations and has never let us down...

Though for the past 12 years some would say I should beg to differ.

But it has yet to fail me and as my father and his father put their trust in it. I put mine in it as well.

Finished packing. I followed the two dragons to the empress' palace. The place was over the top but we'll structure. Me, along with the other finder Ximena were the first ones there. Ximena is indigo with hints of violet and magenta. With flecks of gold. A true beauty. But seemed to be feeling nervous... Myself internally freaking out but I mustn't let it show. This quest requires that of strength. Not of wimping out. I need to be strong

For father and mother if not the empress and myself.

Just as our Empress was about to send for the others, a large moose entered. With horns second to a dragon. Following him were a hawk and a coyote. The finders of stone. The hawk Peak was a mix of brown and tan with soft eyes. The coyote Sweep seemed layed back  with a hint of mischievousness to it. He gave me a cocky smile. I should feel mocked but not even he can ruin my mood. I turn my head high.

Next came a tiger being followed by an elk and doe. The Finder of Trees. The Elk Everlast seemed humbled, while the Doe Amistia seemed determined and hard. Kinda unexpected when she looked innocent enough. I respect her bravery.

A Painted Dog with tired eyes came next with a fennec Fox and an African wildcat. Xena and Revka respectively. The finders of sand. One shy but th ere othet hard to read. They were excorted with what looked like two dozen guards from their empire. Things must have been really bad...  They murmured with the Stone.

It was brought up by the Empress of Sand how she hopes her two return and that reminded me that no one actually returns from this Quest. I admit I got nervous for a moment.

After what felt like an attornity the doors open with a crocodile. Platapus by her side. And.... A otter on the croc's back. The Finders of Sea. The platapus Samuel is just emotionless while Hazel the Otter looks sickly... Hopefully my healing breath will be strong enough to at lease ease it...

The Emperor Cove was testing our Sage it seems. Clever.

We did introductions. My pride building when I noticed that the Wildcat was muttering under her breath. I roll my eyes and snicker a little, don't blame her but she needs to show respect. She can talk about clawing my face after the meeting.

We gotten supplies and settled off. I take out the map and said "Let's go when Revka asked who made me leader.

Me, a leader? Oh that would be a great honor but I would have to agree someone else might be more qualified.

"Well, what else do you think we should do?"

She stayed silent and stomped off. Showed her.

"Hey! You need a map sweety."  Holding the map in my talons.

It was offered I should navigate when Everlast suggested that one of the Stone do it. Peak because of his talons was chosen thanks to Sweep . An excellent choice. I'll excuse when his wing stuck me. I hand the mad and he takes off.

I get into another arguement with Revka (to which I don't recall. Probably had something to do with my "pride") when Peak directed us to the Diamond Dragon. Suggesting for Hazel and Samuel to hitch a ride.

Purposely being boostful. I stretch my wings.

"I, like most dragons, have wings."

"And I, like most mentally sane animals, don't care."  She lashed her tail as Sweep hid his smirk.

Ximena was able to move this along but I feel like I'm sending the wrong message.

Maybe I am letting it get to my head.

As Peak takes off again. I think to myself maybe I should just act more humble. We are working together so it's best for us to get along. As we traveled I plan to break the ice easier. Get to know my comrades.

It'll be for the greater good.

Awe thanks guys ur support means a lot :)

Writer, I love your excerpt!

(guys I sound so white in my writing this isn't ok I really need to read more omk)

~ Everlast

I never thought I would be part of some great hero-y mission like this. I never thought I would be chosen to find the mysterious all-powerful object-turned beasts who created our world as we knew it. Heck, I didn't even want to do this really. Well, I mean of course I wanted to do it. But I wasn't the large-antlered bull my mom wanted me to be, and I wasn't neccisarly strong on the outside. I would be very usless durning this misson. Well, maybe not the puzzle parts. I'm good at math. Well, my dad was a Mathmatic Professor so I had a good teacher.

I felt a long, achy pain in my stomich. It had only been two days-not even- and I already missed home. I looked around at the bickering or flying or nervous animals around me, and wondered for the first time that day if anyone else was having simular thought-tracks about being usless and wanting to go home.

Well, none of us could be usless. It was foretold that we would get the stones.

But then again-

"Okay! Let's get started, uh Peak! Lead the way!" I snapped back to reality and turned to blink-not fully processing- as the hawk from the Epmpire of Stone took off into the sky.

The blue dragon- Eagna -made hasty eye-contact with the wild cat (who was only a little smaller then him) and spread his wings. He then turned to the other dragon, a tall vibrantly colored thing, and said very boldly, "would you like to fly with me?"

The dragoness turned her head to look down at him and I could see the confusion on her face. She then gave him a quirky little half smile and turned to look around at the other animals gathered. Next to me, I felt Amistia stiffen. The dragoness and the doe had locked gazes, and the silver eyes of the dragon's instantly widened as the fire withen Amistia's soul burned through her defences. "Uh, er," she studdered very quickly before ripping her gaze away. Amnistia did not take her eyes away from the dragon. "I'm just going to walk, for now."

Eagna looked hurt but didn't say anything else. I caught the dragoness give him a concerned look, before laughing anxiously, and quickly continued, "but I bet Peak would like someone to talk to as he figures out that map."

Eagna blinked a few times as if he was thinking, smiled at her, then took off into the air to where Peak was waiting for everyone to get situated. "I can carry Hazel." I physically jumped as the doe next to me spoke out in a cool and athoritive tone.

She stepped fowards, gave me a look with her cold green eyes, then nelt to her knees in front of the small otter. Hazel played with her paws for a second, gave Amnistia a half-smile, then climbed onto her back, using the satchel already around the deer's shoulders as a stepping stool.

"You don't say much dear, do you?" I jumped again as Sweep stepped up on my other side. He was looking at Hazel.

"Uh-um." The small thing managed to stutter, figiting with her paws again.

"Don't push it." The deer's harsh gaze landed on the coyotie, and his half-smirk of a smile faded quickly as he met her eyes.

"Why doesn't someone carry this one over there too? Those flippers won't get him far." His voice was colder but not at the same time, like he was playing his own game with the emotions inside his head. "Everest?" He turned to me.

"Uh-it's E-everlast actually." I stuttered.

"Right. What I said." I could have sworn the canine's eyes narrowed just a bit and his teeth seemed to glint in the light, making them seem that much sharper. "You could carry, uh, the duck-billed one."

"Samuel." The doe corrected briskley. "His name's Samuel."

The brown Kingdom of Sea animal looked up as his name was said. He seemed to have been studding a twisted fern for the past few muinets. "Yes?" His voice was monotoned, blank, like he just didn't care for this misson.

Which I mean, atleast the rest of us were willing to put in an effort. I looked around at the small fox sitting off to the side, studding her paws, Eagna and Peak who's steady wingbeats had become comforting background noise, the sparkling dragoness who looked regal and sharp next to the sly wildcat who's pail fur stood out in the greens of the small mountain forest. I mean, I think the rest of us were trying.

I could only hope I guess.

"Ya, of course I can carry Samuel." I bent down so the strange Empire of Sea creature could scrammble only my back and curl up where my back met my neck. I could feel him possition his head on one of my antlers.

"Ready?" Eagna's impacient voice carried down from the sky.

Ximena looked around at the creatures. The fox got to her feet. "Yes!" She called back.

The two Finders in the air circled once over our heads, Peak in the lead, before banking off to the left of Revka. The she-cat, who had been silent for the past few muinets, ran fowards so she could be right behind them. The dragoness followed, then Sweep as he tried to catch up with the wildcat, then me and Amnistia. The small fox took up the back. I glanced back at her only once, wondering if she should be more towards the front because of her small size.

I could hear the clacking of wings and teeth as Eagna and Peak began to talk, skimming or weaving through the stunted mountain pines. I noted now how the trail was begining to tilt up. I shuddered suddenly, my fear of hights taking hold. I hope we didn't have to walk over any steep or small or high places.....

Why couldn't they just leave us behind in the first place? Only the two dragon Finders actually had to be here for the stone.

But oh well, 10 is better then 2 anyways.
