Hazel squinted through the fog. What was it? She couldn't tell. It seemed to be moving - coming closer and closer towards her through the heavy mist. The girl hesitated, then took a nervous step forward. Whatever it was wanted something. People always seemed to take advantage of Hazel, she was so dreadfully curious. But she couldn't be late for work.

Working at the factory was the opposite of what an eleven year old in the nineteenth century wished for, particularly Hazel. She wanted to run free, explore, and be far, far away from the factory, the Master, her twelve brothers and sisters, everyone. But still, it was better than starving - or worse, being sent to the orphanage.

The thing was closer now. It wasn't human, Hazel was sure of that. And it didn't move like any animal Hazel had ever seen. It was gliding softly above the ground, coming closer, closer. The thing was no bigger than a large stone. It would disappear into the fog, then appear again a few steps closer. Just as it was only a few yards away and beginning to become clear, the world started spinning. Slowly at first, then whizzing around at such a pace that the sky swooped in on her and colours of the world blended together. Hazel vaguely remembered playing a spinning game in the garden when she was little. Then, Hazel Wells lost her balance and she blacked out.

Time Travel RP!

So I was thinking we could do a roleplay where each of our charries are from a different time/era, and they all wind up in the 21st century. I'll accept nine charries, not including my own. Note: Please only make one charrie per person, unless we are short of people.

Name: Hazel Wells

Age (10 - 18): 11

Gender/pronouns: Female (she, her)

Year of birth: 1812

Appearance: Long, dead straight black hair which she wears in two plaits. Has bright green eyes and freckles. Is quite short for her age and wears a determined expression.

Personality: Adventerous and reckless, she often says things without thinking. Hazel hates working in the factory and spends most of her time daydreaming about sailing the seas or exploring thick jungles. She's mistrusting and can be unfriendly, but cares deeply about those who are kind to her.

Nationality/People (eg. England, Romans ect.): London, England

Backstory: She is the youngest of thirteen children, and after her mother died giving birth, her father sold them to the Master. He raised Hazel and her siblings among 20 other children, and gave them food, clothing and a roof over their heads (as long as they earn their keep). The master treated the children as servents, although he was not cruel to them.

Ellamarie~~~

"I-I'm Ellamarie, please call me-", I let my voice trail off. " Oh my. What do you think you're wearing!? It's got to be January, and all you are wearing is a odd shirt and...SHORTS!? What on earth do you think you're doing!?", I rant. I get odd looks. Whoops. I coundn't have just said that. "Forget I said anything." The oddly-dressed girl is staring at us, like we're doing something odd. I take a breath, then look at the thin, silver chain on my neck. My only thing from Mutter and Papa. I remeber on my ninth birthday, when they gave it to me, before the fire...no. I couldn't think about that. Not now. A tear trickles down me cheek. I turn away. I'm twelve years old. Too old to cry. I run away from the group, to the wall of a big brick building. That French boy follows me. "Miss, are you all right?", he says. "My name is Émile.", he continues. "Is something wrong?" "I-I'm fine. Nothing is wrong." I shut my eyes. I promise myself to never, ever think about Mutter and Papa's death again.

A girl wearing odd clothing approached the strange group huddled in the courtyard.

"Hello." She said curiously. "May I help you?"

Hazel wondered if this girl was one of them, she certainly looked the part. But she also seemed so at home in this strange place that Hazel thought otherwise.

"Excuse me, ma'am." She enquired. "But do you happen to know the way back to London?" The girl gave her an odd look.

"I, er..." She began. "Well, I better be off for school or I'll be late. You could, um, check a map or something?"

"What's school?" Someone asked.

The new girl was puzzled. The all looked so sincere... But who hadnt heard of school?

"Hello?" She couldn't decide whether to laugh or not. "You should all be in school anyway. It's 2018, you know...it's literally the law."

Hazel's jaw dropped.

-Charlotte-

"Wait . . . 2018?!" she shrieked.

Charlotte started calculating sums in her head. "That's 1012 years back from when I was alive! Wait, what? Ohmygod, have we time traveled?"

Charlotte whirled around. Earth was clean. People were dressed strangely - their technology was almost primitive. "Ohmygosh oh my gosh! "

Her hair started to curl from the heat of her helmet. She took it off, and shook out her hair. Charlotte was still panicking. "Wha-I need to get back!"

Charlotte looked at the other people. One from the renaissance, one from the ancient Greece age, oh goodness, how did they come from so far back! And why was that one renaissance girl freaking out at the other's outfit? Well, it was a little . . . shabby - they needed a jumpsuit, or at least something sleeker. But still!

Ugh, Charlotte's head was overloading. "I'm going to . . . check my monitor," Charlotte muttered.

Each hoverboard had a gps, or a monitor - basically a mini-computer. Right now, the monitor showed she was in America. America had sank ages ago!

Xavion~

Dark swirls, then a light. Suddenly, the darkness spits me out, making me flail my arms in a circle and forcing me to stop short in my heavily-made tracks. When I regain my composure, I look around. A few other kids, my age, are staring at me. They're in all sorts of clothes, and a few boys sheild their eyes.

"OH MY GOSH THESE WOMEN HAVE NO FAITH!!!" One exclaims, rubbing his eyes, trying to rid the sight of me. I smirk. These guys must be playing. One microchip machine in my wrist beeps. My timekeeper chip.

"Resetting to 2018, October 19." It says in an electrical voice. One of the girls shouts.

"Witchcraft!" She scrambles into a defensive position. My forehead wrinkles.

"Witchcraft? No, it's science." She flinches at the sound of my voice. I smile slightly. "You want to see witchcraft?" I send a nerve signal to certain chips on each wrist. I clench my hands into fists. Electricity crackles and sparks fly from my wrists, creating an umbrella-like dome of elictric sparks cascading down to the ground. They all shout and take steps back. I laugh and unclench my fists. They relax.

"I'm Xavion. A pleasure to meet you." I say, bowing low. One boy, in odd, primitive clothing eyes me carefully. I make mental note of him.

~Émile

A second girl in strange clothing appeared out of nowhere.  She muttered something and then pulled off a rather dangerous-looking party trick.  The whole situation was getting to be too much for Émile.

"I am  going to make a run for it," he whispered to Elle so that only she could hear, "would you like to come with me?  He shifted the weight of his sack nervously, eyeing the newcomer and everyone, really.

Elle~~

Émile whispered, "Let's make a run for it. Are you with me?" I think for a moment. I can't have another incident like Mutter and Papa's death. No. Not an option. I squeeze my eyes shut and say, "Yes." We take off. As we run across the sidewalk, nobody stares at us. A couple people look at us sideways for a second, then carry on. I run like the wind, my brown hair whipping the air. I look at my pinafore, dirty from my fall earlier. I frown at it. It was my stepmother, Melody's idea. I hated it. It's frilly ruffles mocking me, reminding me of my days with Mutter and Papa, dressing in fancy dresses and strings of fantastical pearls. I look at it one last time, then rip it off, the faux back part of the skirt flying off, revealing turquoise leggings. I think to my blowout at the odd-dressed girl. How could I be so stupid! When I see a alley, I duck into it, Émile following me. "Émile, there's something I want to ask you.", I say. "Yes?", Émile answers. I take a deep breath. "Can you keep a secret?", I inquire. "Anything for you.", he says.

That was better than I expected!

~Émile

Émile breathed a nearly audible sigh of relief when she said yes, and they took off.  As they bolted, he thought back to how this was his third time running away today. Nobody was giving chase, this time, so that was a welcome relief.

Elle seemed to be having trouble with all of her layers.   Émile was about to offer assistance when she ripped them off all together.  Somehow, it didn't seem so scandalous anymore, but he did admire how strong she was- both in physical and mental resolve.

She ducked into an alley and he swung in after her.  Émile felt exhilerated, oddly enough.

"Émile, there's something I want to ask you, she said,

"Yes?"

She took a deep breath, "Can you keep a secret?"

"Anything for you,"  Émile answered.  He blushed when he realised how forward that sounded, but he could hardly care anymore.

Another girl appeared, dressed in a grey bodysuit, auburn hair tumbling around her shoulders. Wes only half-noticed her, however. His brain was still stuck back on the fact that it was 2018. They had somehow all warped through time and travelled to the future—or, for at least two of them, it seemed, the past. It made his head hurt.

There was a beep, and an electronic voice stated, “Resetting to 2018, October 19.”

Wes blinked. So it was October here. He hadn’t thought about the month changing as well, but it made perfect sense now that he thought about it.

”Witchcraft!” Someone shouted, scrambling back.

”Witchcraft?” The auburn-haired girl asked, looking slightly confused. “No, it’s science.”

That was obvious to Wes, although he could see it was very advanced science. He wondered how far in the future she had come from.

The girl smirked slightly. “You want to see witchcraft?” Suddenly, sparks began to fly from her wrists, electricity crackling. Several people shouted and jumped back. Wes stiffened, but didn’t move, intrigued. The shower of sparks stopped, and everyone relaxed, but Wes was still wary. What else could she do?

”I’m Xavion. A pleasure to meet you.” She swept into a graceful bow.

Wes looked her over skeptically. She glanced his way and for a moment their eyes met. There was something different about hers, but he couldn’t place what. After a moment she looked away, but he continued to study her.

He didn’t trust this Xavion. But there was something about her that felt almost familiar, that reminded him of himself. He was going to keep an eye on her.

He took a few steps toward Xavion, brushing a dark lock of hair out of his eyes.

”Name’s Wes.” He crossed his arms. “So far, all any of us know is that we appeared here somehow, we seem to be in America, and we’ve all time-travelled to 2018 or something. I don’t guess you know what’s goin’ on, either?”

Tanner~

As the futuristic girl pulls some sort of witchcraft, the young French boy and girl take off, keaving the rest of the group. Did no one care? Tanner saw that they were both terribly scared and wanted to leave. But didnt they all? After a moment, Tanner decided to follow them. Since it loked like he was the oldest, there was no use in them getting lost or worse, killed. In Tanner's town and two kids wandered off on their own, bad things could happen very quickly. As he ran where they went, he heard the two of them talking and ducked behind a wall so they couldnt see him.

"Emile, theres somothing I want to ask you," the young girl said.

"Yes?" He heard the french boy, Emile, reply.

"Can you keep a secret?"

"Anything for you," he replied.

Oh boy, Tanner thought. Their in love. Now isnt that a surprise. They barely even knew eachother! Yet Tanner couldnt mistake that tone in their voices. He had only heard it once, yet still the sweet sound resonated in his mind. But back to the situation at hand. What in the world was he going to do?

~~~
Argh I really dont know if this is any good. I think it may mess up the whole plot.. what were yall thinking to do with the Emile and Elle?
So, do we know where exactly the plot is going from here? I believe everyone’s arrived in 2018 now and they’ve just figured out what’s going on (well, sort of), and I think we should figure out where the plot is going, at least to a degree, because otherwise we’re probably all going to start writing in different directions and things are going to get very confusing. Or worse, no one will know what to write and the RP will die, which I definitely don’t want to happen. So. Ideas? I was thinking maybe the group would go off and try to find more information on why/how they were transported, and maybe find someone who knew some answers, but I’d like to hear everybody else’s thoughts as well.
I think an ultimate goal/plot would be good for sure. I don't think that the characters necessarily have to stay in a group all the time, though..? Just because there are so many active people in this certain RP, so they might split up now and again.
Finding answers sounds good. If you want to get started pushing that plot through, Émile and Elle can catch up when they finish their interaction (if that's okay with Secret). They have a little subplot going on that I would like to see through and continue as the story goes on.
Thanks for stepping up and putting this on track ;3
