New new Role-play!

New new Role-play!

This one will be in first person*, preceded by a character description.

Setting: Cyberpunk Fantasy

Cyberpunk is a world almost overtaken by computers. They monitor everyone's speech and actions. In this one, everyone is required to have a brain implant that makes people see what the government wants them to see, not reality. There are groups that have realized this, and are trying to stop it. There are also games that people play, where you battle fantasy creatures.

*as in "I did this, I did that"

Name: Opal Entrefire
Physical description: Long, brown hair. He likes to battle things in games that are made "real" by the implants. Doesn't realize that they aren't real. Thinks that if you get "killed" (as in killed ina computer or video game) you don't die. Short for his age, and not very intelligent either.

I ran and leapt at the roaring dragon. I love killing these! I thought. My sword plunged towards the skull, when suddenly it did something no dragon had done before, in my experience. A jet of flame shot out of it's mouth, burning me to a crisp. I woke up where I had been, and lept at the dragon again, this time not aiming right into the mouth. My sword plunged through the neck. Sucess! I returned back to my town, where my parents were getting dinner ready. "How was fighting?'' My dad asked me. "Oh, it was great. I killed a few dragons, and I got some money for helping to rid the world of those savage beasts" I said, quoting what the mission insturctor told you before a fight.

Come, TNO!

I'll join.

Name: Demina Greath

Discription: Black hair, blue eyes, wears black-a lot, tiny, and slim.

Age:14

History: A child of the man who came up with the idea to put implants in all the citizens. Has no idea of the way that the planet works. Has had everything she wanted since she was young and has no idea of what is going on. A master of Martial arts, she is starting to wonder about her father and the web of secrecy that surrounds him. Her father underestimates her all lot. Doesn't know it, but both sides are keeping a close eye on her because she could be influential in the struggle for the planet

I crept around the corner, into the dim recessess of the hallway. My father's study door stood ajar. The low drone of voices came from inside. I slithered up to the door. Activating my Lizardz, I climbed up the wall over his door. There I sat, listening to his meeting.

"No idea... Totally under control.....Rebels.... unhealthy balance"His conversation ebbed and flowed and I caught only a bit of it. My legs started to cramp up before too long and I re-positioned them. Suddenly, I slipped, and I fell off the wall, right in front of my father as he stepped out of the door.

"Hello, little one" he said smiling, "what are you doing" I had to think up a quick lie, something that he would believe. "Um.,I was sneaking up on Clari!"

"I see,"he said "Well, run along and play now." As I ran off, chagrined, I heard him laugh about my untidy entrance. I seethed. I was tired off being underestimated. Someday, no one would laugh at me. I was going to show my father once and for all, that i was not to be trifled with.

Lizardz are things that many people have. They act like gecko finger pads, allowing the wearer to climb on any surface. Also, Clari is Demina's older brother.

Innocenzo laughed along with Dmitry Greath. For a very, very few seconds. Then he quickly assumed a more professional look. He found the little girl funny in no way at all, but when Greath laughed, it was wise to chuckle along.

"As I was saying, we must act like everything is completely under control." Greath looked at Innocenzo with piercing eyes. "Of course, it isn't."

"Yes, sir." Innocenzo hardly dared say more, lest he appear to challenge his leader's authority.

"You have your orders, then, D'Mercurio," said Greath, his voice incredibly compelling. It was not hard for Innocenzo to see how such a man had invented the apparatuses that caused so many people to turn against their own beliefs, the devices that were the cause and the remedy of everything.

"Yes, sir." Innocenzo stood, saluting his chief. "Thank you, sir."

"Power alone is invincible, D'Mercurio."

"Yes, sir. Power alone is invincible," replied Innocenzo. He left the room. The meeting was over.

Out of curiosity, why don't you just put Mary Liz in the namebar?

When I first came here, I read the little thingy under the name bar- "Name (First & Last name initial only, example: "John S.")" and thought that this was mandatory. I don't think I knew the concept of screen names... :/ I hadn't been exposed to technology much, but anyhow, now I've been on for what, seven months, and it would be too complicated to change to Mary Liz now. Besides, Mary's a fine name just by itself, I'm just not used to it... plus a simple "Mary" eliminates the risk of either misspellings (Maryliz, Mary-liz, etc.) or errors with my middle name (I've been called Mary Ann, Mary Kate, Mary Katherine, Mary Lou, Mary Jo, Mary Alice, Mary Beth...). You get the idea.

If I might ask, is the name "A Bug" being used in lieu of something else that you usually post as, seeing as you knew my name?

I wandered through the many hallways of my parents' mansion. Suddenly, I heard something. Voices! Quietly, I slipped past open doorways to the end of the hall. Peeking around the doorway, I focused on the person sitting on, seemingly, thin air. The chair was, like nearly everything else, not real. The person had brown hair like mine. And she was looking straight at me.

It was my mom.
"Hi, Jame-Jame," she said. "Why don't you take a look at this new contraption I got sent?" I, of course, could not see it. So I did the only thing I could.
I slipped into her mind.
I had discovered I had this power at about age 3. I could control a person if I wanted to. But this was not what I needed. No, this time I needed to tap into her sense of sight. I was, to her eyes, still standing in the doorway. I could still control my own body. She didn't even know that I was in her mind. But now I could see what she saw. The "contraption" in her hand looked like a small round ball. And I didn't have to guess to know what it was.
"MOM! Get out of the way!" I cried, zapping back into my own body. I ran to the ball and picked it up. The countdown was to all others silent. But I could also read a machine's "mind".
Ten.. nine...
Where to throw it? I concentrated an focused on my father. What was he thinking? Then I heard, clear as day-
I can't believe I left the the map to the Rebel's hideout on the office desk... I don't remember enough to make another...

                          Five... four...
I immediatly hurled the bomb- for that was what it was- at the desk. Because we were, convenientely, in the office.
Two... one...
The desk, and everything on it, exploded. My mom embraced me tightly. "How did you know?" she whispered. I was frozen. How could I tell her?
Suddenly she stood up and went back to her "chair". It took me but a second to figure out what had happened: The rest of the government had erased her memory.
I left the room.

Most people, it seems, have abandoned this thread. A post from Klim Ophie to follow Lybra's would be most helpful...
