Chatterbox: Inkwell

Yay! I won first place in a short story contest in my age group, which is 13-16, meaning that I'm at the bottom - extra bonus. It's Bob Jones University's "young writers' club" and there probably aren't more than ten entries every contest, :P (I don't really know, but I just asked in my reply to their email) but hey, I won, so bear with me. It's a lukewarmly-good short story that, well, is a prologue to a story I tried to write a long time ago and gave up on. But I liked the characters and setting, so l wrote this bit that's set before the story, sent it off, forgot about it, and won. I love it when that happens. :D
