This is the first poem I will submit on here. I hope you like it. I would love your input.

I'm helplessly lost.

I can't find my way back to reality.

Someone calls my name from a distance,

but my mind is swelling with too many thoughts

so I can't move.

All I can do

is let my imaginary world take over.

I am swimming with dolphins

when everything I know in this moment

is shaking, trying to bring me back.

I don't want to go.

A voice is getting louder and louder...

"Hon, you okay?"

My mom is standing over me.

"I'm... fine," I reply.

I am back on earth,

where I belong.

But I am sure my own world

won't have to stay paused for much longer.

I'm guessing that wasn't meant to be depressing, but sometimes I interpret things strangely... but I love depressing poems. It was awesome. Very well written. Excellent job, R~D~. :)

Thanks, Mary W.  I guess it wasn't supposed to be really depressing but...

That's thoughtful and dreamy! I like the idea of 'my own world.' :)

I know it wasn't meant to be depressing. I'm just a geek for depressing poems. :/ I thought it was really good, though. :)
