It's been a while since I've posted on the Inkwell, so, uh, hey guys. This is a thread to introduce and discuss writing projects, because I'm curious as to what y'all are working on. Feel free to give a short summary and discuss your characters and process and things like that!
I was going to do Camp NaNo this year with an idea I've been playing with and outlining for ages... and I only got about 9k before I gave up. But then I started a different project on a whim with no initial plot in mind and 30k in about a month (my goal was 20k). So I guess I sort of won Camp, but also very much didn't hahaha.
My current project (the newer one) is about this group of people running a political rebellion against a corrupt government, except it's also, like, a comedy. My whole writing brand is pretty much just screwball comedy..... but make it magic. And lightly angsty.
I'm really thrilled about this one so far. I might talk more about the specific plot/characters later if you all are interested? I would post some of it here but I'd have to edit a lot of stuff out lol. Maybe the first chapter, that's pretty tame.
How bout all of you? What have you all been writing?

Hi Abi! Your project sounds really cool, I'd love to hear more about it if you're willing to share! I love your writing. My current writing project is one that I've been working on for two years, or six years if you count the original story (it's a rewrite of an older story). I'm really, really bad at summarizing it, as it always sounds dumb and cliche, but it's basically about a couple of teenagers who accidentally get transported to another world via book and learn magic (that would be the cliche part). Then the rulers of the world are kidnapped by an unknown enemy and they have to fight a war that's thousands of years old. Lots of stuff happens. People die. I've got quite a ways to go haha.
