Dear Letter Receiver,

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Dear Letter Receiver,

Dear Letter Receiver,

 You have won an elite enrollment into Theophania Hart School for Young Prodigies. While you do not recall entering into the drawing for this prize, this is a wonderful oppurtunity you do not want to miss. While attendance is not mandatory, we advise you to accept this chance posthaste. If you wish to join, be at Grant Park on July 10, 2020, at 2:30 pm SST. Lateness is not tolerated.

     Sincerely,
     Sara Hart, Director of Enrollment

 P.S. This is her secretary. Do not trust Ms. Hart or the THSYP. This 'elite enrollment' is just a place to look for people with special powers. If you, dear letter recipient, have those powers-bad things will happen to you. I can't begin to tell you, not with the time I have---

Zed-

There's no-one else here. I check my watch. 1:02 pm. I go over everything I've done today for the tenth time, making sure I haven't forgotten anything. Wake up. Check. Eat breakfast-cold oatmeal. Check.  Load the car. Check. Drive - why am I doing this again? I have everything. I've been preparing myself for this for months. Suki taught me how to develop film, Oscar gave me Allie - the last of the original flock, who was now pecking around on the broad sidewalks, looking for invisible breadcrumbs, Aunt Hermione had given me a folder with all the information she had gathered on the school. Why do I feel so - nervous? I open the canvas bag that contains all my equipment- the binoculars, the pocket watch, extra rolls of film, letter paper. I close the bag and focus on a gum wrapper sitting next to the trash can. The gum wrapper flies into the trash can.

There's somebody coming. I can feel it. Do I turn around? I lean against the back of the park bench, not daring to look and see who it is.

Alex’s POV

There's one other person here. But I'm not going to start a conversation with them.

Especially since I was in a tree when he arrived, and... I sorta been spying on him ever since.

I know, I know. People think it's  ’socially unacceptable’ and ’terrifying’ to take notes on someone without their consent, but it’s kind of my hobby.

It helps me understand what kind of person they are without... Talking to them.

My foresight definitely helps with that.

Plus, I only got reported twice to the police as a ’suspicious figure’.

I put my notebook and pen back in my bookbag, contemplting how to start the inevitable conversation, when he realizes I've been watching him since he sat down.

”I don't even know how to start a conversation normally.” I thought bitterly.

”Mrowwww.”

I look into my bookbag, at the two cats snuggled together.

I won't deny I feel like a horrible person for stuffing them in their, but theres no way I could do this alone.

”Mrowwww.” Sojo repeated.

”What is it?” I whispered.

Sojo was staring at something behind me. I turn and see a chipmunk, it's eyes lock with Sojo’s.

”Don’t. You. Dare.” I hissed, as I started to close the bag.

Sojo looked at me for a moment...

...then bolted at the chipmunk.

They ran down the tree, into the open.

Surprisingly enough, they other person was too deep in thought to notice them.

”Gotta add that to the notes later...” I thought.

Sojo finally calmed down, and sat right behind the bench the person was on.

I sighed, and started using my power, going through the routes this could play out.

1578 bad routes, 27 good.

Great. Just peachy.

I slowly climbed down the tree, and started walking to Sojo.

The person tensed, without turning around.

Using this moment I grab the cat and place him (the cat, not the guy on the bench) in my bag.

”Uhm... Hi... I'm... Alex.”

Saylor~

I hopped off the bus and walked to the center of Grant Park at exactly 2:00. Better be early rather than late as they always say.

There were already two people there, they seemed from a distance to be talking, and I didn't want to interrupt. So I walked over to a nearby bench and sat down. I glanced over at the people near me. Two boys, both with black hair, are sitting the bench to my right. I suddenly feel really nervous. I can't believe this is happening! I think To think that one letter might change my life! I sit and wait for a while longer.

Skiies’ PoV

I run across the top of the hedges, nearly caught up. I do a triple flip and- Yes! I beat them! I stand in triumph in the bus stop, 3 seconds before the bus arrived. “Who needs busses?” I snuff. I walk over to the benches and stare at them for a moment. Missing something.  I pull out my can of galaxy colored spray paint and paint the whole bench with it. Beautiful. I sit down it it, part of me hoping someone else will come up and sit near me and bigger part hoping that no one can will.

Icy's POV~

I walk through the park, and come across the small square sitting area, four children. Two girls and two boys. One of the girls is spraypainting a bench, and it looks cool. She sits down and relaxes. I walk up behind her. "No vandalism." She turns around, glaring. I move to another bench, empty, and check my pocketwatch. 2: 18. Sophie still isn't here. I adjust my duffel, lean back, and begin to craft a story...

Sophie's POV~

I quickly braid my hair while consoling Jess. "Jess, I'm sure the school has visiting days." She sniffles. Her tears gleam on her pale skin, making it look pearly. I sigh and, finished with my braid, give her a hug. She wipes her eyes and blows her nose.
I pull on white socks, and my all-stars. They look srange with the short skirt and lacy socks, but that's the fun.

@Admins, can you please change my name back to Velvet Serpent on the post I submittet one hour and 42 min. ago?

I have no way of determining which post that is. You need to tell me what the post says and what name you used that you now want changed to Velvet Serpent, and your comment with this info needs to come in on the same thread as the comment that you want changed.

It is on the same thread. Exactly above the comment where I said "@Admins, can you please change my name back to Velvet Serpent on the post I submitted one hour and 42 min. ago," My continuation of the RP. It was posted as Natalie C.

And you get a golden egg for tone, as well as abscense of pleases, thank-yous, and sorries.

Poppy~~

When I get to the little park waiting area, everyone is alread there. I was the last to arrive, but this makes it more fun! It seems like their's two people per bench and the bags are next to their owners, resting on the ground.

One boy, with black hair and a strange red scar under his eyes was watching me. I could tell, he was trying to be stealthy, but his head was pointing in my direction, even as he checks his slightly moving bag.

I try to squelch a smile, but it comes through anyway, he's sneaking some cats in to the school.

Well... this was a grumpy group of people! Everyone is just sitting around, trying to look at everyone without actually looking like they're looking. I clap my hands together and say loudly.

"WELL, HELLO EVERYONE!"

Everyone was watching me now, so I smile brightly and say.

"Aren't we all just looking so grumpy? Come on people, smile! It's a gorgeous day, the sun is shining, it's warm with a small breeze, doesn't it just feel so invigorating?"

"You all look like you're being forced to go to this school! But, I perfer to think of it as an opportunity. My name is Poppy Finch, it's so nice to meet you all."

~~~~~~~
Well, who wants to say hello?
Alex’s POV:
I manage to hide my smile at the girl's enthusiasm. It proved to be quite a challenge, her happiness seemed to affect everyone else. Even the bench vandal quit sulking and put a smile on her face.
The conversation with Zed was better than I thought it would be, it lasted thirty-five seconds, and only consisted of introductions. Thankfully, he’s almost as anti-social as I am.
I've heard of him before, and was a bit taken aback when I recognized him.
As soon as I got the letter, I started researching everyone who could possibly be invited, but Zed totally slipped my mind.
”That was a novice misstep.” I thought, bitterly. ”If Leo heard about this, I'd never hear the end of it.”
There's only one way that conversation could go. I can just imagine it.
”YOU!? THE Alex Rìoghachad, forgot about Zedock Doughtry!?!” Leo exclaimed, laughing. ”I TOLD you! I KNEW it was impossible for you to know everything about everyone there!”
I blinked. Accidentally used my powers there. That's weird.
I looked around making sure I knew everyone else there, hoping Doughtry was the only thing I missed.
Saylor Swallow, Poppy Finch, and Skiies Lyrin. Good.
I suddenly realized how creepy and paranoid I'm being.
It's probably fine. It's totally natural to want to know your classmates...
Without talking to them...
Or ever being in the same room before...
Dang, I have serious issues.” I thought to myself, ”I sound like the villain in a movie.”
What were Doughtry’s powers again? Telekinesis and-
...
Oh. Well.
This is awkward.
I really hope he isn't using that now.
Or planning to use it in the future.
Suddenly, I hear someone approaching me.
Saylor~
A voice called out, startling my thoughts. It was a girl, with red hair and and green eyes. She had shouted hello, and, in my efforts to be friendly, called hello back. She was the last one to arrive. I take a look at my watch: 2:20. Ten more minutes until we would...actually, I realized I had no idea what would happen in ten minutes. The letter had only stated to meet at Grant Park at 2:30 pm. Now that I think more about this situation, the more odd it gets. I get a letter from a stranger saying to go to a park in the middle of the afternoon. Anything could happen. Anything and everything could happen.
Sophie's POV~
I huff into the park and flop onto a bench next to Icy. She's alone, and I feel a momentary twinge of sadness for her. "You'd think that for an event that may possibly be the biggest in your life, you wouldn't be a minute late." I look at Icy's watch, which she's holding up. It's 2: 31. "Well," shrugging, "Nothing's happening."
Just then a truck/bus/car/thingie pulls up and a lady steps out. I say lady out of politeness, because I do not think ladies chew tobacco. She leans against the vehicle and drawls, "Only seven of you here? Well, alright, we'll wait."
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
I was thinking the 'bad things' could be, the people with special powers could be alien/part alien and the THYSP is a racist group against aliens and they wanna kill all the aliens. Any better ideas, tell me.
Blake and I are running through the streets trying to make it to Grant Park. It's 2:29 and I know we won't make it.
"Why did you sleep in today?" Blake shouts to me
"I'm sorry!" I jump over a bench "Don't you think this is weird?"
"We had that talk last night. Now hurry up! We're almost there!" Blake shouts.
We round a corner and see a group of people in the park. There is a car and a strange sort of woman is there. Smoking tobacco. I suddenly stop making Blake run into me.
"Ah! what was that for?" He asks
"I really don't feel that this is right. If this is a school for people like you then why am I here?"
"We'll figure it out. Ipromise. If things are bad we can leave."  He says.
I nod.
"Now come on! We're late!" He takes off running.
I sigh and follow.
"Good two more of you." The woman says obnoxiously. She smiles a smile that one would give to a child.
I send a glare towards her.
~Blake
We arrive kind of late. I really don't like the lady. She's kind of treating us like capable children.
"Excuse me, but how many of us are there supposed to be?"  I ask
" Well, darling there are about 13 people. We're waiting for 4 more." She says with that stupid smile.
I give her a fprced smile and a nod, "I'm gonna go talk to some people," I say quietly to Alec
He gives me a warning look.
"I'll be fine dude,"  I walk over to a peppy girl with curly hair, "Hey I'm Blake, nice to meet you!" I hold out my hand for a handshake.
