Chatterbox: Inkwell

Inkwell doesn't seem

Inkwell doesn't seem to be alive...  Weird...  Last time I came here, it was one of the most popular spots.  Hmm...

Anyway, I was wondering what sort of writing classes/courses things that other Chatterboxing homeschoolers take.  Today, I started up my writing class again, and it was quite scary, because I'm now in Writing II, which is supposed to be for high schoolers.  Juniors and Seniors are tall...  I feel so short!! :) Fortunately, there's a couple of freshmen, so I don't feel waaay too little.  So what about everybuggy else?

Oh, that's so cool that you can take a writing class! There aren't any in my area that I've heard of, plus with school and homework, I probably wouldn't have time for one. At least my Language Arts teacher this year rocks...

Well, (sorry if this is a stupid question!) do you ever do writing assignments for school??  I mean, other than essays and reports??  Because my writing teacher always has the most fun assignments in creative writing!! :)

@Allison: Totally agree with you regarding Language Arts teacher!

@Kenzie: Well, we do have assignments, but it's really not creative writing, just essays and stuff.

I'm in Advanced Composition at a homeschool writing co-op. Composition and literature, that is. The high school class that's about as rigorous as you get in high school - Mrs. K.'s a good (and hard) teacher. Last year it was like a college lit course - parts of The Fairie Queene, and the whole of The Inferno (man, I hated that book! It's disgusting!) and Antigone (good, actually. There's a reason Sophocles lasted so long.) and a ton of other stuff. Alas, Babylon was my favorite - but this year Mrs. K.'s being a little more.... gentle, let's say. We do call her Mrs. K., actually; it's not abbreviated for the Chatterbox. Her real last name is something Dutch and is very convoluted and hard to say. :P

My teacher is just about the nicest teacher in the world!!! :) She's a ton of fun and is just REALLY nice!! :) Whenever we're doing creative writing or an essay with a topic of our choice, she encourages us to do it on funny/random things. :):) If you want, I might post the first [informal] essay I wrote this year, and I find it quite humorous. :):)
