Chatterbox: Inkwell

Apocalyptic Mutant RP!

Some of y’all remember this, right? I edited it a bit. We’re starting over, clean slate, etc. Feel free to use your old characters if you want to. New people are very welcome to join. And without further ado, here’s your introduction.

2028

A science lab exploded.

Four scientists were killed in the explosion, and the remaining three found that numerous chemicals had spilled into a container and somehow survived the explosion. Upon testing the mixture, they identified the chemicals and recreated it. The scientists tried to find out what the solution did by testing it on a rat, but nothing happened. They weren't sure what to do with the chemicals, but then one of them had an idea:

What would happen if they mixed animal DNA with the chemicals?

They mixed lizard DNA--that being what was on hand right then--with their chemical solution, but before they could test it on the rat, it splashed back onto two of the scientists. They immediately mutated into strange, lizardlike creatures. Still vaguely humanoid, they had rough scaly skin, small sharp teeth, hooked claws, and tails. The remaining scientist, instead of being terrified, was fascinated by the mutation. Unfortunately, he was very greedy, and instead of sharing his discovery with others, he killed the mutant scientists, and kept the secret to himself. Over the next few years, the lone scientist experimented with his chemicals, testing them on human victims instead of animals, and becoming ever greedier and more twisted in the process. Eventually, for no specific reason, he created a huge amount of his mutation chemical, and combined it with DNA from hundreds of animals.

2031

The apocalypse.

The lone scientist, having killed hundreds of animals for their DNA, created an enormous bomb, filled with enough mutation chemicals to spread across the entire continent. When he set it off, he was killed in the initial explosion, but thousands of people were mutated across North America. The chemicals somehow seeped into the ocean, and over the years, the mutation spread over the entire planet.

2034

The wasteland.

For three years now, the world has been a barren wasteland, only the strongest and the cleverest surviving, searching for the few oases remaining in the endless deserts. For it's all deserts now, whether or not it’s hot or cold. The endless search for water has driven many mad, adding to the dangers. But now, a strange sickness is spreading, traveling from person to person at an alarming, almost impossible rate. Symptoms include unusual exhastion, hunger and thirstiness, and sometimes nausea. The illness is caused by traces of the mutation chemicals remaining in the water, and the only cure lies in the minerals of the oasis waters. To save the mutants, a select few mutants with strange and unique abilities must find each other, travel to one of the oases, and find the cure, it’s mineral-dense waters. These mutants have never met each other however, and the hardship they have encountered has hardened them, to the point of hostility rising to impossible heights. They must overcome their misgivings and travel the wasteland, dodging insane mutants and sickness, to reach their goal. But, if they catch the sickness, they will slowly weaken, and eventually they will die.

Karen~

Logan folds his arms. "Fine, let's go."

"Where are we going?" I mutter under my breath. "Oh, you don't know? I didn't think so. So why exactly are we going if we don't even know where we're going to? No idea! Of course nobody could suggest something sensible like, I dunno, building a defensible fort where the wyverns can’t get to us!"

"Okay, Karen, how exactly do you suggest we make a strong fort?" I shoot back. "There's so many supplies in the desert. Just perfect for making a fort. And you know - or do you? - that the wyverns learn fast - they'll figure out a way in, but if we just fight they should leave us alone." Eventually, I think, but I don't say that.

Illustris~

Somehow, my instincts kick in, and I begin eavesdropping, until I notice the flying things in the sky. I scamper up a tree and get a closer look at them- wvyerns.

Oh, how I hate wvyerns. I honestly wish I could get one as a pet, but they're too "dangerous".

But there's a lot. If I take down one, the others will come after me, and I'm not quite so skilled with a sword as I am a bow.

No matter what happens, I should probably put the others before me. I have a better chance of surviving here, according to statistics. I know my way around the forest and I've fought off these before.

I sigh.

"Hey y'all?" I say, making sure they can here me. "Get to cover, and quickly. If you can, send out whoever's best with a bow and arrow. If anyone can tame these wvyerns, that would also be splendid. If not, long-range is our best option. If anyone is going out there to fight, stay hidden and alert. Hurt one of them- even if you get a lucky shot and kill it- the others will come back after you. It'll be 2 wvyerns versus I don't even know how many, but even if all of us try, I don't believe we can kill it. Wvyerns are...powerful, and they're a force to be reckoned with. My gods, if we had a wvyern as a pet, now that would be splendid."

----

If we can have pets, I am somehow getting Illustris a wvyern.

yezzz

Okay, so what I've planned is that somehow in the whole world, Illustris manages to tame a wvyern.

the wvyern's sheet

Name: Nox

Personality: idk. Very obedient and quiet? Extremely fierce? Ig?

Powers: idk if wvyerns have powers but if they do then here. basically night related powers. they're strongest at night and have night vision and...i guess can blend into the shadow really well?

appearance: ...idk, a black wvyern? with purple-blue eyes?

yeah i think that's it

A/N: New post from me! After about three billion years :D

Caleb

I need something to drone out the constant noise of these people talking, so I start daydreaming. My thoughts drift back to a hot day about a year ago.

Wait, what was so significant about this day? Oh yeah. It was when I met Vincent.

I start to chuckle a bit. I remember that the last thing he said to me was: "WHEREVER YOU ARE, EVEN IF YOU ARE IN THE TUNDRAS OF THE NORTH, I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!"

I'd like to see him try. But suddenly, I remember something else, from a more recent day. Where was I walking to with Dante when I first met these people?

Oh no. To get rid of the tracking device in my shoulder. I quickly pull up my sleeve, and sure enough, I can't find the device. All that's left is a little green circle. It must have worked as Vincent intended. I have a tracking device in me, and Vincent will stop at nothing to get his revenge on me.
