Yay!! Solo write!!

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Yay!! Solo write!!

Yay!! Solo write!!

okay so I've decided to make a solo write!!

A long time ago, the mission Belua was given up, but now, the beast's power remains. To this very day, someone has to defeat the beast. It grows restless in its slumbers. Now is the time. It must be slayed.

General Artin has sent hundreds of thousands of soldiers out to slay the beast, and there was only one that returned. The youngest of all. General Artin was shocked someone could survive the beast, especially since that someone was his own child. The general gave them permission to build their own team of 8 to fight the beast.

Who is on the team? What are their skills? Here is a form to fill out (the first form submitted will be the main character)

Name:

Appearance:

Gender/pronouns:

Name: Carson Starstriker

Appearance: Jet black hair, olive skin, brown eyes, small and skinny and can often creep around unnoticed.

Gender/pronouns: Male, he/him

Backstory: He's from a family that was mean to him, so he ran away when he was 13 and has been living on the streets.

Skills (not magic, for example, fast reflexes is a skill): Good at seeing in the dark, great with weapons, sneaky, quick-thinking he's sort of a criminal.

Age: 20

Why were they chosen for this team?: Because he's good with weapons, quick-thinking, and (if you want him to) has known Mike for a long time, and they grew up together.

Oops! I think I forgot Carson's personality!

Personality: He means well but can be a little harsh/unfeeling since he spent so long on the streets. But he recognizes that and tries to be a better person. He and Mike (since they know each other) joke around but he also knows how to be serious. He's very protective and hates seeing other people treated badly, since he was not treated good as a kid. He's an extrovert, but has a hard time trusting and opening up to people at first, but once he gets to know someone, he's very very nice and caring and very loyal.

Before I wrote this, I noticed something really funny. Most of the characters I've received have black hair! I think that's really cool. And here's chapter one! Sorry if there are any typos, end let me know any predictions you have for what might happen next!

CHAPTER 1

There was a parade that day. The most grand parade anyone could ever imagine. At least 6 million people had shown up. There were 120 floats, with more than 600 men and women inside of them. Confetti was everywhere, sprinkling on the joyous faces of the people in their chairs which they brought from home. Nobody could imagine there to be a negative thought.

There were, though, some negative thoughts. The parade had barely started, and Micheal Arkin couldn’t believe how many people had shown up. All the men were flexing their biceps, the girls making warlike poses. Why, Mike thought, would anyone want to fight the Beast.

The Beast. This whole parade was about how Mike had survived the Beast. Mike felt guilt pool in his stomach. This whole parade was a lie. Not that anyone knew what really happened in those months where Mike supposedly survived a fight against the beast.

He shook his head to clear his thoughts, and tried desperately to stay calm. He must choose a team of eight to fight the beast. Mike’s brain refused to remind him of the consequences that he would get if it didn’t work…

“Welcome!” General Arkin said up from the balcony of the tallest tower of Whereabouts Castle. “To the parade for the bravest, strongest person in all of Whereabouts. My son, Micheal Arkin!!!” Mike’s float moved quickly forwards, and he stepped forward to say his speech.

“Um, hi everyone,” he said, taking off his green wool cap. Seeing what everyone else had worn today, he thought he should’ve dressed nicer. “I’m here today to choose a team of…” His father held up 8 fingers. “8 warriors. Including me. Together, we’ll slay the Beast, protecting Whereabouts from it’s evil powers once an’ for all.”

The whole crowd cheered. Roars of joy from all across the kingdom. Mike, however, saw the selfishness through that joy. All of these people didn’t care about saving the kingdom. Oh no, not at all. They just wanted to be the one to become famous for slaying the beast. That’s when Mike made his decision.

“Y’all have been told I’m gonna make the decision of my team members today. No, I’ve changed the plans. I’ll be goin’ around the kingdom tomorrow, undercover, looking for the best members for my team.” Mike said. The twist, however, was that he wouldn’t choose anyone who wanted to fight the Beast for their own power or glory, only the people who wanted to do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

Feeling comfortable with what he said, Mike walked away. He went to the palace’s horse stables, and took Pablo, his horse, to saddle him up. Pablo’’s golden hair gleamed in the sunlight as Mike rode home.

_________________________

Mike woke at the crack of dawn the next morning. He must go through the least known path around the kingdom. He must find the right soldiers for this journey.

Wind blew hard in Pablo’s face, but he made it to the edge of the kingdom in no time. Mike smiled. He took out a simple notepad and quill. It was the kind of quill that didn’t need an inkwell, for the ink was inside.

The first stop was a broad building known as the neighborhood. Whereabouts had only one neighborhood, all held in a giant glass building. Each family had their own room, it’s size and shape depended one how elite the family was and the quantity of family members there were.

Mike didn’t know where to start. He wasn’t used to so many people in one place, for he lived in a miniature castle next to the King’s caste. His father was the only general in Whereabouts, after all.

Mike went down a hall with torches running along the walls. There were imprints of happy people, whole families. He knew someone perfect would be down here, he could feel it in his bones. Further down he walked, until he came to a thousand doors. The doors, however, were not what he was focused on. He was focused more on a conversation. A far off conversation.

“Dad! No, you can’t just leave!” A female voice said in the distance. “Sweetheart, I don’t want to leave. But listen, the beast needs to be slayed. I must talk to General Arkin’s son. I must be on his team.” A deep voice said. The girl’s voice sounded determined as she said, “I’ll March right up to Micheal Arkin and ask to be on the team. You taught me how to fight, I should be allowed to use those skills on saving the kingdom!” The man sighed. Footsteps came closer to Mike, but he stood there calmly.

Soon enough, two people entered Mike’s vision. There was a girl of 17, maybe 18, with long curly brown hair. Her skin was the color of almonds, her eyes like midnight. She was wearing clothes ready for battle, but when she saw me, her jaw set with determination.

The man looked just like the girl, except a man, and older. He spoke first. “Oh! I’m surprised to see you here. We’ve never met. I’m Jason Vuonos. I was hoping you’d invite me to your team to slay the beast.” The girl opened her mouth to argue, but Mike spoke first. “Thank you for wanted to help, but I have to say no.” He said calmly. “I’d actually like to invite your daughter to the team, but first I’d like to see what she can do.”

After an hour, Mike knew this girl would be perfect for the team. She had amazing stealth and knife skills, and a positive attitude with an inquisitive mind. “What’s your name?” Mike asked. “Aurorua. Aurorua Vuonos.” With a smile, Mike said, “Welcome to the team, Aurorua.”

I really like your writing style! It's very discriptive, and the dialouge is very realistic. I can't wait to see where this goes!
