Chatterbox: Inkwell

This game is where I start with the beginning of a story. Then, people add on to the story that I started and eventually it forms into an epic never ending story. Please add a RELEVANT paragraph to the previous person's post and please keep it kind.

I'll start:

Jan Corey was used to being on her own. When she was four her father left and her mother died in childbirth. She had been running from orphanage to orphanage for the past eight years of her life. The orphanage workers noticed she was a difficult child with an impossible additude. People thought she was not right in the head because she kept running from the orphanages, but there was more. Before her mother died, she met her brother, Leroy, as a baby. She was secretly looking for him, running when she couldn't find him. On January fourth, 1936, she found a clue in the Peirece family orphanege...

back to the Inkwell

It was Leroy's glasses! Jan recognized them. They were thick-rimmed, green in color, and with Leroy's uneasy signature scratched on the rim. Leroy. He had been here--but when? Jan decided to ask the head of the orphanage, the Peirece's father. When she asked him about leroy, he said, "Oh you mean Leroy Corey? Yes, he was here a few monthss ago...said he was going to California." California! That was halfway across the country! But why would Leroy want to go there? And where exactly in California? Jan didn't have many answers to her questions, but she knew one thing. She had to get to California as quickly as possible...
