The world of Selcouth is made up of thousands of islands floating above a vast ocean. This world is perilous, with its churning seas, towering glaciers, steep cliffs, and relentless storms. To survive humans make pacts with dragons, ethereal creatures most scholars theorize to be far older than humanity. There are five types of dragon, each one representing a domain of Selcouth's nature.
Water dragons are huge sea serpents, with thick scales, large and beautiful fins, and sharp fangs. Their coloration reflects all the colors of the sea, and water dragons who live in the deepest part of the sea have some sort of bioluminescence. These are one of the more difficult dragons to bond with, being tempermental and wrathful.
Air dragons are also serpentine, but with lighter scales, birdlike feet, and colorful feathers around their heads and tails. They can be any color in the sky, usually light blues or sunset colors. Air dragons have a regal air and tend to be haughty or vain. All dragons know they are higher than humans, but these dragons love to remind people of it.
Earth dragons are basically giant lizards, with spiky scales like plate armor, ornate horns, and leathery wings. Their scales are embedded with gems and are the color of earth. They are only able to fly for a few thousand feet at a time and prefer walking. Earth dragons have a tendency to "adopt" humans, and are incredibly protective of the ones they choose.
Ice dragons are covered with thick fur, with pawlike feet and crystalline scales beneath the fur. They are usually white or shades of grey, and have extremely good eyesight. You wouldn't know it from their appearance, as these dragons look quite fearsome, but they are usually gentle and sympathetic towards humans.
Life dragons look more like unicorns, with horselike bodies, antlers, and long tails. These dragons are easily the most rare, being reclusive and hesitant to interact with humans. They are extremely wise and prone to speaking in riddles.
This is an RP, but also a world I'm developing that I think would be fun to build with other people!

Name: Ayles
Pronouns: she/her
Appearance: Orange/brown hair, grey/blue eyes, light skin.
Personality: Kind, brave, and feirce.
Strengths and abilities: Can morph into a dragon(so I will fill out the 'Dragon form' too) is great with a bow and arrow, can understand any animal.
Weaknesses: Will never harm any animal, except if it's a demon beast.(or whatever those are)
Dragon: Earth Dragon
Backstory: Abandoned by her parents, Ayles was adopted by the Earth Dragon, Sora, who raised her and cared for her, with her two dragonets(baby dragons), Eliana, and Fletcher. Later in life, on Ayles' 11th birthday, Fletcher(who is actully a girl if you thought she was male) gave Ayles a magic gem, that changed her into a dragon(which is in the next form) and then Fletcher became Ayles' dragon.
