Lore, history, and

Lore, history, and plot explanations: The Thread

I'm fairly sure that during some brainstorming or worldbuilding sessions, a lot of 'Aha!' ideas tend to surface. I am also fairly sure that most of the time (mostly in my case), the ideas actually have little contribution to the story that is being brainstormed. But that's the point of worldbuilding! To create a world, and not a complete story set in it. Which is why-

This is the place to jot down all the things one never manages (at least completely) to fit into stories! Whether it be a stroke of inspiration for a character, or the documentation of an entire underground dwarven mine, or even explaining a hundred years of history of a kingdom barely mentioned in your stories, they all go here. Feel free to jump in and write an essay on alien biology, I don't mind.

That about sums it up, a thread to explain ideas and perhaps even exhange or improve them.

I'm so going to dump my mind out when this thread shows...

Hm, I think Wave uses fin/fins pronouns? I'm not sure. Xe/xem doesn't sound quite right for them anymore. If anyone has some nounself/neopronouns that are related to the ocean, lmk, I can't find that many *sobs*

hmm, would
sea/sea/seas/seaself fit, maybe? I do like fin/fins pronouns though -- one of my characters uses them.

A random document on my worldbuilding no one ever asked for, Part 1

>Fairy - J

The origanal stablizing solution that BISF managed to produce in modest amounts and not blow up their pressurizing canisters in the process, invented and patented by Doc. Jeliced Lentis. Put to good use in its first years of creation as a wonderusly effective neutralizing agent when dealing with volatile substances, such as liquid dynamite (still in its testing phase back then) and active plutonium, or homemade ham sandwiches in Doc. Jaspers' case. [Note: It was during Event - 665 that Fairy - J's anesthetic and poisonus properties were discovered.]

>Fairy - 9

Later changed to Fairy - X, this was the final version of the Fairy solution BISF produced after many trials and evaluations. Its make up is much more potent than the J origanal, uses are top secret.

>Perspclre crystals

Volcanic crystals formed by magma. For unexplained reasons found only in cave systems 600 meters or more below ground level. Taken from the latin word 'perspclre' meaning 'transparent', the rare crystals have a hardness of 9.5 and have a unique inner structure, allowing light to pass through them nearly unhindered. When polished, a crystal stays clear and transparent, behaving like glass. [Note: Though the mines are secret, there have been two perspclre crystal bottles made without govermental consent. One however, is lost, the other is locked away.]

>Jenkins Coveal

Son of the illustrious scientist and researcher Jasper Coveal, Jenkins has not fallen far from the tree. Inheriting his father's bright mind and burning passion for science, Jenkins is now a rising star in chemistry, burning hot and bright. In fact - burning too bright sometimes. He shares his father's hobbies as well, mountaineering especially. If there is one thing he could do better... he can't pull himself away from the unknown. What effect his curiosity has on him is waiting to be seen, but he has taken a unhealthy intrest in the shady thrift shop down his street...

1175 words of history worth almost 300 years that's all refrence anyway. all of which written today.

all the near-useless history I've written comes up to... 2230 words. 1067 of those are just an extra-detailed version of 101 of the total...

no wonder I'm exhausted
