Prudence Montgomery, unheeding of her name, liked to throw caution to the wind. She ran a hotel for interesting folk, each one unique and no two the same. Prudence was only 12 years old, and yet, she was a natural at her job. Even if it meant dealing with the occasional thief or runaway pig (don't ask). At the end of the day, she liked to sit by the fire and warm her toes. She loved her life and her life loved her.
Prudence was a warm, happy, bubbly, and sweet girl. All the guests loved her, how could they not? She meant everything she said, she tried her best at everything, she had no dark secrets... she was absolutely perfect! And she was. Really. The other guests were the ones they had to worry about...
So here's an RP a bit based on The Greenglass House books (amazing, btw!) about a hotel filled with interesting folk. Usually it's a hotel also filled with merriment and light, except on certain days...
P.S. sorry about all the sun here. We have a large assortment of cold drinks you can choose from, but be sure to pack lots of sunblock and sunscreen (are they the same thing?).

Name: Mirage Simpson A.K.A. Miri
Type of pet/species: big white dog (Anatolian Pyr)
Personality: sweet, loving, LOVES "human" food (e.g. In N Out burgers, Din Tai Fung pork chop, any kind of bread (and the plastic bag that the bread is in), ice cream...), happy to see you, loves people and attention, a bit of a stalker (in the friendliest way possible), doesn't know how big he is so likes to squeeze into small spaces, loves to play and run, loves to laze around lying in doorways, loves destroying chewy toys/stuffed animals for dogs, gets hot easily, doesn't like swimming but loves to drink from toilets, very patient and peaceful (never bites), very friendly with younger kids and smaller dogs, THE CUTEST EVER!!!
Luggage: a yellow stretched out dog almost torn to pieces, a round ball-like hummingbird, a squeaky football toy, two flavored plastic bones, red tug-of-war toy, food (chow down) and water dish (drink up!)
Opinion on strangers/other pets: I guess I'll tolerate them. As long as they're reasonable enough.
Appearance: ginormous (Anatolian Pyrenees), sheds a LOT, soft velvet ears, pure white (ears a bit brownish though), amber eyes, brown antlers growing out of head
Interesting trait (optional): leaves permanent pawprints everywhere no matter what (unless he wears his bell collar, the jingling scares the pawprints away, but only temporarily)
Background: was a rescue dog who lived in a winter wonderland and made friends with reindeers, who gave him his own set of antlers! Also gave him bells that he can wear around his neck if he wants, but he only wears them on special occasions. Almost never wears a collar.
Other: sleeps outside too, on my bed with me (he seriously doesn't know how big he is, he thinks he's tiny)

Cool an RP. I needed something to do instead of my book which is what I should actually be working on but am not for some reason. Hahaha! I am my own worst enemy.
Name: Sam Aberdeen
Pronouns: He/They
Appearance (whatever you want!): Albino. Poor posture, one of those weird hipster sweep-over hair cuts. Wears reflective sunglasses always, mainly because he's very light-sensitive, but it makes him seem unemotional, as people cannot see his eyes. He's okay with that.
Motive for being here: Meet new people. People who don't already know him. He likes the idea of a fresh start.
Interesting trait (be creative!): He tends to talk at length, generally about nothing. He also talks without capital letters. You can tell.
Pets/companions: companion. Karris. They met on the bus. Neither knew where they were going. They ended up here.
Luggage: he brought clothes, a fleece blanket, and a small bag to keep them in. He doesn't like carrying too much. Both literally and figuratively.
He is going to regret not packing sunscreen.
Age: Uh, 17 I guess?
Personality: Long winded. Gives off an impression of not really caring about anything. That is an act he consciously puts on. Can be insensitive, but it isn't usually intentional.

Appearance (whatever you want!): Dark brown hair, ragged and spiky (from running his hands through it) eye bags(from insomnia) pierced ears. Noticably good posture, possibly to compensate for shortness. Wears sweaters and khaki pants almost exclusively, despite heat.
Motive for being here: To not be home. Running away.
Interesting trait (be creative!): Incredibly confrontational, even during mundane and routine conversations. Talks very loudly.
Pets/companions: companion. Sam.
Luggage: duffel bag full of clothes, sunscreen, reading material. (trashy fantasy/romance paperbacks) Brought stuffed bear as well. Do not mention it. Also a Walkman and earbuds. Very outdated, but don't mention that either. Actually, to be safe, maybe don't mention... Anything?
Age: also 17 I guess.
Personality: Loud. Anger issues. Quick to judge, but quicker to apologize. Somewhat self loathing.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Strength: Weirdly genuine humility. Flaw: Wrath, naturally.
Opinions on strangers?: "What do you want me to say? They're usually pretty awful, but I guess some are all right. Not 'good,' but all right. That's about all I can ask for."

Background: Grew up trans in a town where that wasn't an easy thing to be. He hopped on a bus, met a guy who makes him slightly less angry than everyone else does, and ended up at a hotel. He has no deadline. He has no schedule. He has no plan he can fall back on. That was a song lyric I just stole, and I'm really sorry.
Other: He has watched The Shining and he can tell you that at the very first sight of a pair of twins imploring him to " play with him " he is out of here. He's also heard that a twelve year old girl runs this hotel, and that's kinda freaking him out too. He is afraid of no ghosts.
I'm implying that he is afraid of the paranormal, in a very unsubtle way.

I assume I am the hotel staff so... sure! Yeah! Except... idk, is it free? Is the whole HOTEL free?? How would that work for a hotel?? Actually, let's just say it's a magic hotel. Yep, everything is free! And so there are also whatever meals you want.
P.S. We would really appreciate it if you could not (an emphasis on the not) resort to cannabalism? Karris would probably not appreciate it, and neither would we, the staff. Liability issues and stuff. Please and thank you! :)

Hey, out of character question for the RP master person. Are we saying that magic is just, y'know, completely ordinary in this world? Cause, like, magic food, character with wolf ears, these are run of the mill? Or should Karris be just totally freaked out, and possibly barricade his door to escape "SORCERERS and their WICKED WAYS?!"
Actually that's too funny and idea to let it go to waste. I might make him do that anyway.
Anyway I just wanna know how this world work because I'm an artist, darn it, and I need to craft my vision!

Honestly, I didn't think much about rules and stuff as I went, I was just walking along, thought, hey! This would be an interesting RP! Typed it in, sent. Yep, that's how I write all my work. My best pieces go unplanned! :) But... I mean, magic DOES seem like a pretty commonplace thing here, but Karris could've come from a different place where it's NOT so everyday, so he'd be pretty freaked. Sorry making these answers up as I go! :)
