You stand now, in a small clearing in a pine wood forest. A steep hill is to your left, and your knees are cut and scraped. Trees surround you on all sides, and you can hear the flowing of a creek, far away. 

The sky is pale, and the day is gloomy. Your girlfriend is lying in front of you. She's unconscious. You keep telling yourself that. Your cousin is somewhere in the woods. You hope he's alright.

Oh, and there's also a giant horrrible creature standing in front of you, hissing and growling in an inhuman tongue.

Your name is Wren Hawthorne, and you have no idea what to do.

USE DIANA AS A SHIELD==>

You lean down and scoop Diana up in your arms, which isn't hard, because she is very short at least compared to you. You wave her around in the air, and the horrible creature before you turns its head to the side, confused.

YOU: Well... Deen and that weirdo seemed to have a... rapport of some sort, so... I guess... She'll probably be fine?

As you hold Diana, you can hear her breathing. you let out a sigh of relief. 

YOU: I really don't know who I'm talking to. I doubt you really understand english. Do you?

Creature: llllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.........

YOU: Didn't think so. 

Creature: tttttaaaaakkkkkkeeeeee..... meeeeeeeee.....

YOU: You're really insistent about that, huh? Too bad I've got no idea who Lillie is, let alone where she is. 

The creatures... face... plates? The pieces of its face shift, and make odd clicking noises. Does it understand what you're saying? 

YOU: I... Do actually think I know someone who might be able to find Lillie for you. 

But... Wait. Should you? Who knows what this thing wants?

ASK CREATURE WHAT IT WANTS WITH LILLIE==>

YOU: Look... If you can understand me, and I'm not entirely certain you can... I want to know why you want to find this "Lillie." I don't want to hurt this person, whoever they are.

The creature stares at you, unmoving. Time seems to pass very slowly. You're beginning to consider doing something else, although you have no idea what that could even be, when the thing snaps up suddenly.

It maves from it's former, stooped posture, to a straighter, and... disturbingly human position. It's looking directly at you now. You back up quickly, dragging Diana along with you. She snorts in her sleep, which would be cute, were it not for the fact that she is in a coma-like state, and you are being menaced by something that looks like it's from an old Tim Burton film. All of the sudden, the creature's face morphs again, and it speaks. 

The voice it speaks in now is entirely different. It sounds crackly, and old, and also distant, somehow, as if something is using it as a walkie-talkie

Creature(?): we are old as the land. and older. we remember a time when men of old approached from the east. and claimed this island as their own. we remember older times. when tribes of men wandered the island. and paid us the tribute we deserve. we remember times older still. when the island was a peninsula. when men of great renown. and races and peoples hunted now into obscurity hunted here. when ghouls ate old flesh in the tombs below us now. when things came in from the sea and worshipped their gods. we remember a time when mankind was young. and a great vessel fell from the sky and turned the rivers green as emeralds.

You stare at the thing.

YOU: Okay... That's not... What I asked, exactly?

The thing steps toward you. 

Creature(?): we say this that you may understand who it is you address. we do not invite questions. our motives are not yours to question. we desire what we desire. there are those who assist us, and those who oppose us. we will. however. allow an answer to your question. 

Creature(?): we seek lillie. our heir. we desire to notify her of her position. 

The thing gestures at itself vaguely. 

Creature(?): we send these hounds. these piles of flesh your kind refers to as woodsmen. to find her. their sense of smell is unparalleled. and they are susceptible to outside influence. you will take us.

Will you take them to Ten? 

BE PEDANTIC==>

Something in you snaps, you guess. It kind of feels like you've been pushed into doing everything you've had to do recently. This isn't the way you'd choose to occupy yourself on an ordinary thursday morning. You, Diana, and Alex ought to be in the house, watching a movie or something. Not out in the woods on some horrible adventure, being bossed around by ancient god-like beings, searching for some witch-heir to an evil power that is apparently, quote-unquote, "older than the land." So yes, you're going to be a little petty. What's this thing going to do anyway? Kill it's only lead? 

Okay, actually, it might kill you. That's a distinct possibility. You decide to be petty anyway. You're probably doomed six ways already. Why not?

YOU: I'll take you to someone who might know where Lillie is. But...

Creature(?): you. you believe you have the right to make demands of us? did you perhaps. miss the part. where we described how much greater we are than you.

YOU: No. I heard you. But, I do have one request. 

Creature(?): ...

YOU: Ask me. Politely.

You smile the most obnoxious grin you can.

Creature(?): ... human. daughter of adam. we ask you. take us to this person.

Creature(?): ...

Creature(?): please.

You nod. You start to walk in the general direction of where you remember Ten being. You pick of Diana and carry her. It isn't very hard. You're pretty strong. The creature follows behind you. 

Diana suddenly starts to shake. You put her down quickly, her eyes shoot open. She starts to scream.

What do you do?
