This is everyone’s favorite tour guide, Cato - short for Cat o’ All Worlds, of course. I don’t come into this ski lodge, but I’m from the original book and all, so really. why wouldn’t I enlighten you on this amazing, amazing destination? Welcome to the Library of the Stars! It’s ready for you, whether you are or not.
The Library is fully-stocked with all sorts of amenities. The kitchen is stuffed full of comfort foods - yes, even yours! The vending machine can make anything you ask for, a bakery case is full of items chosen for you personally by the cosmos, and sprinkles of the stars are included for all of your cupcake needs. Not, of course, that you're limited to cupcakes. Oh, and it truly has the best tuna milk i’ve ever tasted… *purring*

...Correct. Apologies. Well, surely you’ll all enjoy the recreation room! From beanbags made from the highest-quality fabric of the cosmos to the bookshelves with carefully-chosen library books and even a catch the fish game, you’ll be sure to enjoy yourself. And guess what? If you catch enough fish you get a treat!

Do note that once you’re here, you may not be able to leave, and disappearances into clouds of smoke, puddles of ink, black holes, etc are frequently reported. But really, from the endless shelves to the ever-changing other rooms, it’s a truly magical destination. Fill out the form today!

Welcome to the Library of the Stars! my character (Reshinerr) is the main character and will have the viewpoint in most scenes. Because of this, most of your characters will primarily be side characters. In addition, I may have to make minor changes to characters as necessary. I will try to keep as much the same as possible, especially for actual AEs and CBers. CAPTCHAs are not allowed, but if desired a few can have animal companions.
While designing your character, please make sure they’re not super similar to another! Similarities are fine - just make sure there’s something different. And if you have the same problem as someone else, you or i can give it a new nuance. Eccentricity is highly appreciated but not necessary. Fantasy and star-themed stuff is best, but one or two can be completely different for fun :P
I will allow up to 10 characters. Please note some will be very superficial. The depth i give each character is only related to what the story needs. One character per person; if there’s not enough, then you can make another.
Please note that this will almost certainly be a dark ski lodge. While there will be little or no graphic violence, there will definitely be themes of mental health issues. I will add a trigger warning for anything major; if anyone has anything in particular they would need that for let me know, but if it’s too much in the ski lodge this might just not be the right one for you.
I will have a few weeks before I post anything to flesh out the most important scenes. But don’t think that means it’ll be weeks of nothing! I might post playlists, art, and unimportant rambles and side quests >:D …or nothing. We’ll see.

Pronouns (the weirder the better heh!): comet/comets/cometself if that could work?? Idk, I looked up "star-themed neopronouns" and it just seems to fit. Ofc, I don't know how to use comet/comets/cometself... I'll try my best??

Age (anything from like 6 or 7 to maybe 20 is okay): I have an urge to make comet 6. But I feel like that would affect comets personality for some reason so I will not (also when I think of comet as 6 I think of comet as like a happy little cartoon hand-sketched star zooming everywhere which is so cool and if you can do that then wait actually please do now I can't stop thinking about it- oh but nvm though..)... let's say 13? Comet seems 13 to me.
Species they are now (note: all characters will start out as humans from the real world for simplicity): Human from irl? But if not possible, then OH OH WAIT what was that mythical bird that flies backwards again?? "The Goofus bird is a mythical, backwards-flying bird, originating in lumberjack folklore in North America. It is also known variously as the Filla-ma-loo bird or the Flu-fly bird. The Goofus Bird flies backwards, as it does not care where it's going, only where it's been, and it builds its nest upside down." So if not a human then a Goofus Bird!! And if so a human then can comet please pleasee have a Goofus Bird animal companion?? :D
Appearance:
as a human - beanie, glasses, star earrings, t-shirt that says: "My battery is low and it's getting dark" with a picture of Oppy (wait I want that now!!), Chinese if possible, just over shoulder-length black hair, shorts
as a Goofus bird - I imagine like a big beak and feathers sticking every which way out of comets head/tail feathers and bright feathers and sorta big and clumsy :) (same for if animal companion, but if the Goofus bird is the animal companion, then it's smaller :) )
Personality: bouncy, zoomy (hey, like a comet!), talkative, excited, bookworm (the only time comet's quiet: when comet's immersed in a book)
What is the main or most influential problem they struggle with? (Any problem is okay really. It doesn’t have to be deep, but it can be. A mix preffered): comet doesn't really like to be touched. Comet also isn't very good at explaining why comet doesn't like to be touched; comet just doesn't. Comet doesn't fully freak out noticeably when people touch comet, comet just majorly dislikes it and wants to run away and cry in comets room for an hour. However, comet doesn't really see it as a real problem, as all the reactions are internal and stop when comet isn't being touched. Comet isn't that great at dealing with cometself feeling any negative emotions in general; comet just brushes it off as something that isn't really that serious when it happens, and focuses on the happy stuff. Sorry was that too much? Yeah I'm basically ranting about myself now sorry...

What is your character’s outlook on life? Cynical? Optimistic?: optimistic! Comet pushed away the cynical. There's so much wonder in the world and so little time for comet to enjoy it that comet doesn't want to waste comets time feeling sad about the bad stuff. However, the bad stuff is still always there, no matter how much comet tries to ignore it, but comet still tries to just be really optimistic until it's second nature/instinct/true!
Things they like, comfort items, hobbies, etc: comet likes comets star earrings and star necklace (comet likes fidgeting with them) - I actually find this so funny because I don't like earrings and necklaces but apparently comet does (I just realized I haven't used Ascella's name in like forever!! Comet/comets/cometself (the way I'm assuming they're used) are actually so... comfy, actually. ?? oopsie.). Ascella likes reading and discussions and stars.
Anything they need to have with them/luggage: hmm. Comets necklace, no matter what happens, it's always there, and it's reassuring to touch. Same with comets earrings; the weight is also reassuring (at least I think earrings have weight??).
Comfort/liked foods: comet isn't that picky here. :)
Things they dislike: being touched, feeling like people aren't really listening to comet and being interested in what comet's saying, insincerity
How much are you okay with me changing them?: I honestly wouldn't really like you to change comet that much because in the ack- hour I've been working on this form, I've grown quite attached to comet... if you want to change anything, maybe could you run it by me first?? Although ofc I understand if you really do need to change anything, then you can :)
Would they like an animal companion?: yes please!! See above Goofus Bird! It/its please!
What is their opinion on stars and books?: WAIT those are like two of comet's main interests!! Woah! :D
Did they like their old life?: comet does like comets old life; comets family loved comet a lot, and comets life was very, very good. Comet knows that comet had a very good life and that comet should be very grateful, and comet very much is. Comet didn't really feel like anyone really understood comet though, and comet doesn't really know what to do with that information. So comet's thoughts on comet's old life are a bit tricky
Other: I think this may be my favorite charrie I've ever created?!!?!??? So excited for this!!! Also for some reason I feel like my writing style changes when I'm writing third person Ascella vs. first person me which is actually pretty cool!!

Appearance: afab, brown hair, shoulder length, growing back out since being shaved when ae became a monk, green eyes, brown skin. Ae is usually found wearing aer monk robes
Personality: Hana is clever and loves reading, ae is very quiet and patient but doesn’t like condescending people who look down on aem.

Admins, can you add "personality" as a question on the form? Maybe after "appearance". thank you! if you didn't give your character a personality please either do it yourself or allow me to.
also we have a lot of quiet characters so far. We can still have more, but maybe we could have some other personalities too? Granted not all of them have personalities yet because i forgot that on the form heh.
also they don't have to be humanoid! i mean Cato is a cat made out of stars XD Here's a description from the book (though Cato probably won't come in, but maybe ae will idk):
"[Cato is] made of stars swirling in a cat-shaped puddle of sky. Stars pass behind clouds of dark dust in aer body... Is ae made of liquid? Glass? How could you make either of those have fur, even if you can barely tell it’s there?"
