So I'm writing

So I'm writing

So I'm writing a new, new story, yet untitled. It's about a girl who finds the key to the universe. Does that sound like something that might interest you guys? Thanks. Now I have to go write more of it or I will never get these voices out of my head. But tell me what you think.

Katie, I might post some, when / if I get enough done. See, I'm not entirely sure about putting my writing on the internet, but I might put up a little bit. It's going pretty well.

This is a bit off topic, but do you guys ever hear voices in your head? Like, when you get an idea for a story? Your characters' voices, and they don't go away until you write? Maybe I'm looking for reassureance that I am not, in fact, going insane.

I've never actually heard the character's voices, but I do hear the story narrating itself until I go write it down. You don't sound crazy to me! :)

Andy (spam message thingy) says ddva. Almost diva, Andy!

Worry not, ZnZ . I have heard tell of this strange and peculiar phenomenon, and similar. Apparently it is common among us authors. I would also like an explanation of it: perhaps it will help me to understand why I don't ever get it! How come I never get this weird thing, or whatever, like characters coming alive or something, that everyone else is talking about? Do you have to be on the story for a long time?

I told my mom and dad about it and they seem to think it's not real. Or at least I wasn't able to tell them what it was clearly enough.

@Wolfgirl67 -- yes, I get that too. Pretty much the same thing as with the voices. Either way, it's great because it makes you write, mainly because it won't. Go. Away. Until you write it down.

@Emilie L. -- I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I assume it's the "hearing characters' voices" thing. I wouldn't worry about not getting it. Basically, I hear my characters' conversations and / or narration from my current story. I don't know why; my guess is it's, I dunno, getting ideas from thinking about it a lot. Or else I only think I am making my stories up -- in fact, I am subconciously reading the minds of my characters! (This is quite a feat, as must of them live in otherworlds.) Don't worry about it, because:

1) It doesn't happen with every story, or even most, and

2) even if it did for me, writing is different for everybody. Don't expect what happens to you to be the same as the way everybody else does it.

Oooh! That happens to me! It usually happens like this: I have a weird dream. I wake up. Then, I imagine the characters (when I'm not trying to) speaking to me! There was even this one time where I was reviewing the story in my head and the main character was like: "Actually, that wasn't what happened."
