Heroes in your stories!

Heroes in your stories!

Heroes in your stories!

OK, this is the place where we write about our good guys, share problems and particularly good points in their characters, etc. No movie/TV Show/book heroes that aren't your own, please! Imaginary world heroes are also welcome. Even if they're originally from a book, movie or TV show, if you have sufficiently altered their characters so that they're unrecognizable, mostly at least, you may post them. If they're from your imaginary world.

Also: Since we are probably also going to end up discussing bad guys as well as good guys, seeing as the bad guys are the good guys' problems, I'm going to say that this thread is also for bad guys!

I might make two more of these, one in BaB and the other in PP (you know, for books and movies/TV shows), but for now, there's just this one. You guys can make the others if you want. :)

That's okay, Emilie. :) TOP!

But anyway, Corelle sounds awesome! And so does Alyss, in a creepy kind of way.

I have a bunch of heroes, but I'll start with Kartani.

Her name (obvi) is Kartani. She is ten, which is how old I was when I started writing it. She is a wolf-heart, a person who can talk to animals and turn into a wolf. She is on a quest to save the Land of Waterfalls from The Disaster.

One of my main problems with Kartani is that meeting new people (the water nymphs and the dragon come to mind) is always very awkward and I tend to get writer's block. (Grr.)

Well, that's pretty much all for now. Yet again, TOP!

But I didn't even say anything about Alyss! Actually she is not the main villain. But Corelle has a particular grudge against her. Alyss has blonde hair and black wings lined with raven feathers. (She did this herself.) She wears high heels and likes to act polite around people in general. But she is a backstabber.

Oh, fun. I'll do my '09 NaNo, shall I?

Protagonist: Mort Rebsen
Appearance: Youngish, pale, curly black hair, poorly dressed.
Occupation: Petty thief, unlicenced beggar, unwilling heir to the throne, and accidental mercenary bullied and threatened into service by Chaos.
Personality: Irresponsible and hating the idea of having authority. Becomes increasingly insane throughout the story as a result of the inherent randomness/chaos of any situation in which Chaos shows up in person.
Arch nemesis: Doesn't have one, really, but he spends a good portion of the story being dead scared of Ketlevik before Jordan kills him (Ketlevik, not Mort). Oh, and Fate keeps trying to mess him up because he's working for Chaos. Necromancer Kay doesn't like him much either.
Allies: Chaos, obviously, though under protest from him. Spritely, who also works for Chaos and turns into a dog. Technomancers Morgan and Jordan. King du Slomen, sort of, being his father and all and ending up fighting with him.
Book: NaNoWriMo '09

Other "good" person: Chaos
Appearance: Really pale, short, skinny, lot of black hair and always wears purple. Most prominently the purple scarf.
Occupation: Physical embodiment of, well, chaos. Annoying Fate is her favourite hobby.
Personality: Flat-out insane. Has seven disembodied voices living in her head. They frequently debate the possibility that they are merely unnamed manifestations of her various personality. She likes breaking the laws of physics, just to prove that she can.
Arch nemesis: Fate. He likes things orderly and she doesn't. Nuff said. In this particular story she's trying to convince his Chosen Ones to stop working for him (which is where Mort comes in...)
Allies: Spritely, who's something of her second in command. The voices, by default since they can't really leave her head. Du Slomen, mostly because Fate doesn't like him. Mort, agaisnt his will.
Books: NaNos '08 and '09, cameos in various other places.

Kinda-sorta-antagonist: Fate
Appearance: Lightly tanned, curly auburn hair. Dresses all in navy and carries around a globe thing 90% of the time.
Occupation: Handles predestination. Because he's the physical embodiment of it.
Personality: Chill most of the time, unless Chaos starts messing with his plans at which point he kind of snaps. Probably OCD. Rigid believer in the power of prophecy. Has to live in the past, influencing future events.
Arch nemesis: Chaos, for reasons discussed above.
Allies: Pretty much everyone who isn't allied with Chaos, but notably Kay and Morgan (though Morgan shifts more towards Chaos' side by the end) the Chosen Ones.
Books: NaNos '08 and '09, cameos in various other places.

So my latest story has two main characters. Both are good at some point in the story, but they switch from good to evil and back in their indesicion. If you go to ZNZ's, letters to your characters, you can learn more about Annalise.

I like Aaron a lot better than Annalise, because he has so much more, I don't know, potential as a character. And he is evil for most of the story, and I have a soft spot for my villains... So you see, Aaron and Annalise are the people foretold in a prophecy that granted them magic powers and the power to end the war between their two tribes.
