New RRR* Hav

New RRR*

Haven't started/participated in one of these for a while, but it's really really slow right now and I'm bored. Silly kids, not coming into the library. *shakes head sadly*

As per my usual, I've got no idea where this is going. Just... make stuff up and go with what works, yeah?

It is a well-known fact that what goes up inevitably comes down. It was a fact that weighed heavily on Richard's mind as he sidled along the edge of the palace roof. At least it had stopped raining, but there were still puddles and wet, slippery moss to be wary of, dangerous obstacles to the midnight climber. To say nothing of the cold.

Richard shuffled along the narrow ledge he was currently balanced on, making use of every crack his agile fingers could find to keep himself from toppling backwards into the Baron's flower garden.

His foot slipped, and for a few stomach-twisting seconds he dangled by three fingers from the fourth story of the ancient stone building. He kicked and scuffled wildly and managed to recover, and clung to the wall for a minute or so, until his heart started beating normally.

He continued along the wall with care until he came to an open window, and then slipped into the palace with only the slightest whisper of fabric against fabric.

Ten minutes in, ten for the job, and ten minutes to get out. And Richard would have almost fifty-six thousand dollars to his name.

All he had to do was... terminate the Baron. Which, Richard thought bleakly as he started down the hall, was a lot easier said than done.

Okay, I think we all use the same charrie. Correct me if I'm wrong. *shakes head* Yes, if those kids don't get into the library soon, I'll have to kidnap them and take them there! Yes, from a girl who hasn't been the library at all this summer.                           PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!!!!!!!

Anywho.......................

The word terminate stuck out in Richard's mind. It would be so easy just to back out.... But no. He needed that money to pay off that debt. Or else his head would be on a stick, much like the Baron's would be soon, hopefully. Why am I second guessing this????? First time jitters. James said you always got those.

That was really short.

The baron was sitting in a black leather chair in his library when Richard tiptoed in. it's not or never. He thought sadly. But before he made one wrong move, his mind went blank. What am i supposed to do again? He was known to be forgetful once in a while, but with something so important? Why? Richard leaned against the wall, quietly and carefully, as so not to disturb the Baron. His breath was shallow, and his heart pounded so hard Richard could just see the Baron's neck turning . . . and it was.

"Son, why are in you in my house?" the Baron towered over Richard, a grim look on his face. "Planning to try something on me, huh?" Richard's expression was grim as he turned to flee the building, thinking the baron would chase him. But the Baron just stood in the doorway of the library, shaking his fist angrily.

"That's right now, son! Your just like your father- a coward, no matter where you are!" That comment stung. Bad. As Richard jogged shakily down the street, he felt like ripping his hair out. I'm so stupid! he thought, wanting to shout it out the world, all who probably already knew from past incidents.
