This is another of those monthly novelling challenges, except that it doesn't have to be a novel. You can choose your own word count, see, and the minimum is 5,000 words. (There's no maximum, either, so you could do something much longer.)

Most people do much more than that, but still. I heard something about a secret prize at the end that's e-mailed to every participant, so I figured I might as well sign up. I have no idea what my word count will be, but I didn't see any reasons not to do this, so I think I will. I have no intention of writing another 50,000-word novel directly after the JulNo one (unless I fail JulNo—then I'll have to try again), but I can certainly make and achieve some goal. The forum's under maintainence right now, though, so I can't create an account.

There's no YWP, and chances are you have to be 13 to sign up, which will mean, unfortunately, that I'll have to lie about my age again, but it doesn't really matter. My username will probably be Bibliophile, like it is for JulNo.

The site is a bit hard to Google, but it's the 2nd result after Googling augnowrimo. The forums are the first.

You can do multiple stories/novels, and WIPs are acceptable, but scripts, RPs, and RRRs are not. You also have to e-mail your finished manuscript to... someone, I forget who, which makes me a bit uncomfortable—I don't exactly want a stranger seeing what I wrote in an enormous hurry before I edit it—but I don't really mind too much...

So yay! I can do this again! *feels extremely repetitive*

Yeah. There is that... If you really want to write a novel in a month without lying about your age, you could always just do it without signing up or something. I prefer signing up, though... But who knows? Maybe you don't have to be 13 to do AugNo. I'll see as soon as they'll start letting people sign up for it.

I'm going to be much busier in August than July, unfortunately. That'll complicate things a bit...

Aetc says goin! Is he goin' on vacation then? Is that his excuse for not signingup? Oh, come on Aetc, you can do 5,000 words, can't you? Ha. That would be very interesting (and boring, too, but...), reading an entire novel written in CAPTCHA code. Once upon time, ther ewas aboy name dDon. Donn went toth plac were wind blow. Et cetera... If only Aetc was that clear.

Trixie fromerly known as Bellatrix, is that you?  I think it is!  I remember you!  I remember how talented you were at writing, and if you haven't been writing then I think you should get back to it!  Laura will be so excited!

I think that I am doing  AugNo.  I will get a friend to do it with me...  But I a not going to set my goal for 50k.  I am going to do a slightly smaller amount of writing, because this is just...  a lot for me.  Or that might be because I was really really busy this month.  If I want to catch up I have to write 3542 words today, but I don't think I will be able to because my friend is coming to spend the night...  Oh well.

Anyway, I am going to sign up for AugNo.  Probably do the smallest amount of words, because I think what I will be doing in August is finishing my story from JulNo, and also editing it.

I really am going to edit my story after July.  i just write without looking back...  So it will nead a lot of editing.  And my writing ishorrible, so i will have to do much more editing...

Ahghgh!!  July is so busy for me!  And I really want to get to 50k!  Well, 10k more by the end of this month and I will be done...  So about 2500 a day.  Yay.

Goodbye,

Hmm... Maybe I should do this as a practice for NaNo.  Like a warm-up so I'm not starting entirely cold in November.  I'll consider this.

Trixy! Hi! Of course I remember you! See my post on the song lyrics thread on PP when I noticed you posted. Ha. And things have been great over here...

@ Medd: Yeah. I'm having a of trouble reaching my word count as well. Not nearly as much as the JulNo website says, of course—I haven't gone there in quite a while—but I'm behind nonetheless. It's difficult, mainly because I kept procrastinating. My problem is that I actually had too much time on my hands, so this annoying part of my mind kept saying that I didn't have to write as much as I actually did. So I'm getting way behind. And I'm also just charging headfirst into it, like you. It's the only way to get anything done, even though my writing is absymal. I'm going to have to do some major editing, especially since my entire family insists on reading it. So I'm not doing 50,000 wordds, either. I'm just unsure of how much I will do... But finishing your JulNo in August can actually count towards your AugNo goal. WIPs are accepted.

...being that I'm in Washington college-hopping (I'm totally in love with Whitman, it's gorgeous), I probably shouldn't, but, meh. I might. It could be fun.
