Just got 50k!

Just got 50k!

Just got 50k!

Yes!  In July Novel Writing Month, I have written 50k words!  I feel so good right now!  Woohoo!  I don't have  to write anymore, but I want to!  And this is big for me, because I am an uber slow writer, and this is the most I have ever written in such a small amount of time.  Usually it takes me half a year to write 50k...

Anyway, my boasting made a big difference!  It helped me yell at myself to write more and more, so people won't be like, "So, did you get 50k words?"  Me: "No."  Person: "You told me you would."  Me: "I know."  And then it would be all weird, and I would yell at myself even more.  And once I found myself about 10k words behind, and I felt like giving up.  But then I found my bracelet...  And it went up!

Wow!  I got 50k words!  I am a winner!

Sorry.  Just made a thread about winning JulNo.  I just am soooo  excited!!!!  :D

Cannot wait until NaNo!

Goodbye,

~Meadow de Weirdo

Congratulations, Meadow! Way to go!

If I had heard about this I would be writing, but then I'd only get one chapter done.

I NEVER HAVE ANY INSPIRATION!!!! Cry

Congratulations! I, unfortunately, was unable to write at all on the 30th. We went to a little cabin in the woods by a lake, which somehow amid the chaos the laptop was forgotten! My dad, who was to come a day llater, managed to bring it on the 31st, but it made no difference. I knew I couldn't finish it in a day, and I'd been depending on having the time... So, yes, I worked on it yesterday, but I had been going to write like crazy the day before to catch up, and still write a lot the next day, if I was going to reach 50k. And I couldn't! Or maybe I'm just making up excuses. It's likely that I still wouldn't have met my goal otherwise--but I was devastated. At least there's always August...

@Ima: I believe you can write 50k words!  Never give up!  There is August!  And then September (though there is no WriMo there, you can still write 50k) and October (same as Sep...).  And there is NaNo!  Never ever ever ever ever ever (a googol more evers) give up!  I am sorry if this sounds cheezy, but I really do believe you can write 50000 words!  And you can, definitly. You are so very talented...

I believe that Rachel can.  inspiration just comes to you while your writing it.  In the Wrimos, you just have to write, never looking back, not caring if it is horrible or not.  You just write, and write, and write....  Until you get to 50k words, then the voices in your head yelling at you to write faster will finally go away and leave...

Wow.  I wrote that...  :D

Thanks! I'm not going to write another 50,000 words in August (although I'll do AugNo and write some), or September or October, but I am doing NaNo, at least. I signed up a few days ago. And I did write many more words than I normally would! So, yeah...

And yes, Rachel, believe me, everything is much easier than you'd expect. Just go ahead and try it sometime!

@Ima: I have now, very stalkerishly, found and buddied you. Go ahead, panic! Do it now and avoid the June rush! Fear death by water!

@Rachel: No! Do not wait for inspiration. To quote Chuck Close (not a writer, but an awesome artist. Google him), "If you wait for inspiration, you'll never get anything done." He's right, you know. If left to its own devices, inspiration will never come. You have to go out and find it and drag it to you by the hair. Got it?

Don't worry; I won't panic. I've already stalkerishly found and buddied everyone who was ever on CB for a somewhat long amount of time while I was. Well, except for Jen. I don't know her username...

Ima!  I found you on NaNo!  I am Evilsilhouette, so don't be wondering who that random person who buddied you named Evilsilhouette is.

ZNZ!  On JulNoWriMo, I was Sisterofmoon, and sent you a message, not explaining to you who I was.  So that was me, stalking you.  Sorry if that was slightly freaky...

I know. I buddied you, and since I don't know how to get to the profile list, you're the one I used to find the other CBers, since you've buddied all of them. (If you Google [insert name nanowrimo], you find their profile. But just about everyone has said their username somewhere on this website, and I paid attention. I just didn't know Jen's. But I did notice she was on so many CBers' buddy lists, so I wondered if it could be her and read her profile. Clearly, she was...

There's no list, as far as I know. What you need to do is click on Search, at the top, and then when you get there click on Author Search. You can only do it when you're logged in.

Or at least I thought I did. You appear to be missing drom my buddy list. I'll add you, then...
