Anonymous guess-the-story

Anonymous guess-the-story-writer game!

As far as I know there has never been anything like this, so let me explain further...

This is kind of like Secret Identities on CaC. We make up a false pen name, write a short story (no longer than 2,000 words) and post it on here. Then, on the 28th, we guess who wrote which story. I think this will be fun! :) I'll be on here too, so feel free to guess me.

To Admins: If people start posting with a last name, it's the last part of their pen name.

Andy P. C. says hzbi. Husband? Are you getting MARRIED? You're only a year old!

This sounds like fun! But we won't know if last names are real or not, so please just stick to first name/last initial even for pen names. Thanks.

Popular muffins are the future of the human race. And no, not the muffins that you eat, the muffins that happen to actually be humans.

The idea may seem dastardly to those of the 21st century, but it is not to us of the 30th century.

Also, the idea of human slaves may seem dastardly to you 21st centurians. It is not to us. In fact, the idea brought joy and happiness to people. Most people.

My name is Catalina D. I am recording this to send back in time. So we can stop the re-creation of slaves and prevent the corrupting of mankind. Bear with me, on this journey of trials and tribulations. And remember:

Once you read this, there is no backing out.

Sounds like fun!  This is a good idea.

I'll probably do it at some point... When I feel like writing.

First of all, WolfGirl67's most recent post isn't up yet, so if I say anything that's the same as something in hers, sorry.

What happened?

I wasn't replying to Barbara P. There was another post, with a different story, about a girl who was lost in the woods and rescued by a wolf. I was telling the author of that story that s/he was WolfGirl67, and I wasn't replying to Barbara at all--but now the story is gone. Why? Was it deleted? It looks as if it was, and my reply was moved so that it responded to the only other comment up at the time, but I didn't notice anything remotely inappropriate in that story at all...

I didn't just imagine it, did I? Because it was a good story. I suppose if I imagined it, I could always write it myself. But that would be scary, because I know it was there and that that was what I replied to, and not Barbara P's comment--and I don't want to be delusional. Could it possibly have been deleted by a spambot or something, by mistake? It just seems strange that the admins would delete it; no matter how hard I try, I can't think of anything in it that they wouldn't want to post for any reason. Admins, do you remember a story about a girl lost in the woods, rescued by a wolf? Does anyone here remember writing it? Particularly WolfGirl, as it was definitely the kind of story she would write, and the writing style matched hers as well? This is... very strange...

I don't remember seeing it, but I'm only 1 of 3 Admins. Is it possible it is posted on a back or middle page where you just can't find it?

Yup, that was my story. And thank you for saying it was a good story. It could have been deleted because I used a last name in my pen name, but that seems slightly unreasonable...:S

Andy P. C. says gibe. Jibe? Who's teasing you, Andy?

@ Admin: It can't have been on a back or middle page, because there's only one page on this thread. I know it had to have been on this thread, because in addition to specifically remembering that it was here, I replied to it, and my reply is still here, on this thread. It says 'You're WolfGirl67,' but since the comment I remember replying to is gone, it's shown as a reply to Barbara P instead. I can't have imagined it, either, because Olive seems to remember seeing another comment on this thread as well...

H'm . . . as Alice said: curiouser and curiouser! Well maybe it will show up again.?

Okay, if this is still going...

The girl turned to look behind her, then stopped.  No use looking back.  The deed was done.  Her beautiful city was burning.

Flynn ran up behind her.  "

I'm back.

"Melodia, what did I do?" he asked.  "Ask Midnight," she told him.  "Talk to a horse?" Flynn asked.  "Not just a horse.  Never just a horse."

And with that, Melodia disappeared.  "How is the unburnable city burning?"  Flynn mused.  He thought back to the day the city was built.

Mr. Valenin ran up the steps of city hall with huge scissors.  With a snip, the ribbon broke.  The new mayor had officially opened the city.  It was the year of the Faeries, under the rule of King Bensan the Great.  Callidio Woods, a city dedicated to the late King Callidi, was a newborn.  "This city was built to withstand the substance the phoenix rose out of.  Fire."  The citizens gasped.  This was a surprise.  Mr. Valenin continued his speech, "Yes, I know the wildfires in this area are considered a blessing compared to the 70-year drought in the capital, but we feel it is a suffering we shopuld not have to endure."

"Yet, we are enduring it," Flynn sighed.  He was walking back to the stables by now.  The flames had been conquered.  The land was flat as the eye could see, except fpr one building rising out of the ashes.  That was where Midnight was.

I accidentally changed my last initial.  It's really *wink wink* L.  O is so close.  Any guesses on who I am?
