Five Seconds On

Five Seconds On Qwerlos Street (that's the title)

I am beginning to write a story, and I just wanted you guys to say if you liked the sound of it or not!

Summary: Thirteen-year-old Nayomo Ellicx is sent to live with her mother's friend's family. There Nayomo meets a girl named Mikorly, and they end up becoming best friends. In the room Nayomo is staying in she finds a pendant with the words "five seconds" imprinted into the side. She does not know it now but she will have to save the world one second at a time.

I have to go now, so I didn't write all I could, but if you like it I will post more!

How come this is in the back now?

Posting a comment on a thread on a front page seems to send the thread to the back. Then when another comment is posted (like this one), the thread will go back to the front. We don't know why this happens or how to fix it. It's why sometimes you'll see comments from people just saying TOP.

That is an amazing story (soooo far)...!!

The only thnig are the names. No offense but the names are kinda um... I can't say the word on Cricket.

Might change the names to AMERICAN ones?? The ones people can understand!

I find the names really interesting!

American names aren't the only kind, Vida. And lots of people would feel the same way about American names as you feel about these. I, personally, like them.

Oh Vida. The names are American ones! They are just names that I was trying to make sound futuristic! The way you made it seem though, made me feel real bad. If you think my names are dumb that is fine with me, but you really don't have to say it so rudely. I am sorry if you weren't trying to be rude, it just came across that way.

@Choco: I don't think Vida meant to sound mean, but she did say it sorta rudely. :-)

@Vida: If you happen to read this, most famous book characters don't have American names. Take Katniss Everdeen for example. Or Hermione Granger. And what you said about using American names so people can understand... Isn't your name Spanish?

Anyways, Choco, your story sounds really interesting! Please post an excerpt! (By the way, normally, when people use pendants as significant items, it feel cliche, but adding the, "five seconds" makes it sound neat and unique.) :-)

APC (I think that's his/her name) says, "fyir". Do you mean, "fire"? What do you mean by that?

@Vida A lot of names actually aren't american. Every name has an origin and it's actually better to use different names. I mean think of it this way: You have 4 books and each of them has a boy named Jim and a girl named Sally or whatever. That would be boring. Names really add to a story. So the more different the name the better.

It sounds great!  I especially love the name Nayomo.  How unique!  I agree with what everyone one said, especially Elizabeth.  Because if every book had a "Sarah" and a "Fred"(or whatever)  they wouldn't be as creative, original... and not to mention you would be getting them confused all the time. :)  You really need to post a bit of it... I'm interested to see what happens!!! Oh, and a word you can't use on Cricket, Vida, is a word you probably shouldn't be using at all.  Keep that in mind.:P

Choco, that story sounds really fantastic-I would totally read it. :) If you could, please post some, it sounds like quite a few of us really want to find out what happens! I really like both of those names. I'm a big fan of unique/odd/unusual names. That's always something I have trouble with while writing, because the names of the book's stars are so important! Anyway, hope you post some soon! :)
