Rosanne's Diary-

I am leaving. As the youngest of my family I have a feeling that I am responsible if my family becomes endangered. We have 3 children. Over the limit. I don't know where I'm going but I will go somewhere.

Scene 1-

I ran through the crowded streets of London. People looked at me oddly as I pushed them to the side. The officials who stood at the gate to the Subway must've thought that I'd done something wrong and I heard them yell: "HALT! STOP GIRL!" I clutched my bag to me and my feet hit the pavement hard. I could hear the men behind me. Getting closer. Suddenly I turned a corner and slipped into a dark alley. The men ran past and I slumped down against the wall. I'd have to try to be less noticeable. I walked down the dark alley with no idea where I was going.

Rosanne's diary-

I am in an old building somewhere on Kingstreet. Mother and I used to walk by it before everything went wrong. Now, it'll be my temporary home until I can catch a train out to... well I still have to figure out where. It's quite cold here and I'll have to keep a watch out for officials. Good Night!

 Scene 2-

I felt something light hit my face and my eyes flew open. A headline was in front of my eyes:

CHILDREN LEAVE FAMILIES

A little headline under it said:

LISTS OF CHILDRENS' NAMES CAN BE FOUND ON PAGE 4.

My quivering hands turned the page and I looked down the list. There! My name:Robinson, Rosanne and next to it a picture of me. I was laughing and waving. I wished I could be there now. Great, people were looking for me! I flipped through the newspaper to see if there was anymore news. A list of train times to Yorkshire! The latest one left at 12.45pm. I found my watch in the front pocket: 12.05. I might be able to make it. I threw my blanket into my bag and pulled on my green converse. 40 minutes... Would that be enough? I ran down the steps of the old house and out the door.

Scene 3-

I was across from the lit-up station. I looked around for officers and quietly snuck in the door. I walked up to the ticket lady. "Where to?" she asked. "Yorkshire," I answered. "45," she said. I gave her the money and walked to the train platform, carefully looking at all the people. Everyone looked tired. I heard the whistle of a train and saw the train to Yorkshire coming in.

Rosanne's Diary-

I'm halfway to Yorkshire. I'm trying to figure out where to go. No idea... So tired. Good Night.

Rosanne's Diary-

I'd forgotten that a friend of the family lived here! I went to her house and she has let me stay. I'll have to help on her farm though.  Right now, she said I should rest. Well until latter.

Scene 4-

I smelled the sweet scent of sirup and pancakes. Licking my lips I slowly got out of my warm bed into the cool morning air. I walked downstairs and found Amelia sitting at the table reading the paper. A stack of pancakes were on the table. "Help yourself." She said. I dug into the pancakes. "These are delicious!" I exclaimed. "Secret recipe." Amelia smiled warmly. The phone rang and she got up to get it. "Hello, Amelia Stevens, here." Pause. "Yes. Uh huh... 3.00pm would be fine. No. Not my own. Yes, good bye!" She hung up and walked in her happy air gone. "Those stupid people!" I looked at her confused. "The workers who come around to check the families. You'll have to leave at 2.00 pm. I'm so sorry. Wait no! You can hide... They'll find out that you're not my child. Don't worry." I felt scared. This woman was so sweet to me. I didn't want her to be in danger.
