Hey everybuggy! I'm

Hey everybuggy! I'm starting my VERY FIRST MYSTERY! It starts with Molly White's (famous Pop star, model and dancer) butler Lance finding out that Molly White died, and then there's a girl named Jennifer who is really good at puzzles and stuff, and she wants to figure out who killed Molly White. I might post a little bit, the beginning is really gory... so yup!

Here's my story! The first part is the beginning, then it kind of leaves you hanging... but this is the next part!

Jennifer Ling lived in the middle of no-where. Or at least she thought so. It was 10 miles to the nearest town, and 20 to the city. Jennifer lived on a farm, complete with horses, cows, chicken, and cats.

“JEN!” Shouted Mr. Ling, who was watching T.V.

Jennifer looked up from her 1,000 piece puzzle she was doing in her bedroom. It was 12:00, and she was still in her P.Js! Jennifer quickly threw on a pair of jeans, and a big sweatshirt that said Volleyball across the front. It was her big sister’s, Olivia from when she was Jennifer’s age. Now, Jennifer is 13, and Olivia is 16. Then, Jennifer was 10, and Olivia was 13. They lived in the city then, and went to regular school. The next year Mr. Ling wanted to live on a farm because it reminded him of his childhood. “All those adventures,” He would sigh, “I would love for my children to experience them too.”

So they moved to a farm, and Mrs. Ling began to think that school was too far away, so she started teaching her children herself. There was Lucy, who is 17, Olivia, 16, Jennifer, 13, and Owen, 10. They, each and every one of them were home schooled.

“What dad?” Jennifer asked when she got downstairs. Her dad was sitting in front of the T.V. with a bowl of popcorn in his lap. The T.V. was on the news.

“Molly White died.” It was all Mr. Ling needed to say, for Jennifer sat in front of the T.V., and glued her eyes on the screen.

“It seems Mrs. Molly White died yesterday.” The announcer simply said.

“Obviously!”

“Let’s see the facts from Tim. Tim, are you there?”

Suddenly, Tim filled the screen.

“Yes, yes. I’m here.” Tim sighed, Jennifer wondered if he even liked his job. “Now, the facts are that Mrs. White died.”

“WE KNOW THAT!” Screamed Jennifer.

“Quiet, they can’t hear you.” Mr. Ling said.

“But do we even know who killed him?”

“HER!”

“Jen, remember? He can’t hear you.” Mr. Ling cried.

“Well, we have a little bit of evidence that the butler, Lance, killed her. We found him in his blood yesterday. He must of fainted after killing Mr. White.”

“Lance would never kill Molly, or if her name is Mr. White.” Blurted Jennifer, “He is the best butler ever!”

“Lance will be taken to court for further investigations. If he killed Mr. White, he will stay there forever as a punishment for what he did. BUT, if he is an innocent man, we will let him free. Back to you Lily.”

The camera switched back to the announcer before.

“Thanks Tim.” She said, “Now, the butler clams that he didn’t kill Mrs. White. But he doesn’t have anything to prove that. He tried to, by stating that the windows were open, but they were closed. Lance will remain in prison for life, until he can prove himself not guilty.”

Suddenly, there was a man on the screen, standing next to the announcer. “I don’t think Lance will prove to us to let him go. But, he might have been framed.”

“ha, ha.” The women laughed, “Yeah right. I’m sure Lance did it, and an open window doesn’t prove anything at all.”

The man shook his head, “No way! Haven’t you seen that man? He’s the best man that ever lived!”

“Well, we’ll have to see when I’m right, OK?”

“Now, there’s a lot of traffic on...”

Jennifer shook her head in disbelieve, “Lance would never kill Molly White. HE came from a family full of trustworthy butlers, he would never...” her voice trailed off, as her lip began to tremble, and she began to sob.

“C’mon Jen!” Owen cried in his happy care-free voice, “Don’t be sad, at least it wasn’t you!”

“Oh Owen, Lance is basically half of my heart, it’s like we share the same DNA. Seeing him in jail, it breaks half of me.”

Owen said, “Whatever.”

“JEN!” Hollered Olivia from the kitchen, she held the newspaper in her hands.

Jennifer ran to the kitchen, and took the newspaper. She flipped though it, most of the stories were about Molly White, and how she died. People’s opinions about Lance, and everything. Finally, she came to her favorite page. It was the cross word puzzle. She loved working on cross word puzzles, puzzles, sodokues, and word finds with her dad. She loved figuring out everything, and she did. Well, most of the time. She liked games that made you think a lot, she was good at those. She got As and Bs in school. Never Cs. She always got on the A honor role, she barely got Bs! She usually got straight As.

“Dad, I got the crossword!” Jennifer cried running to her dad with the newspaper, she sat beside her father, and they started working.

After an hour of doing the cross word puzzle, Mr. Ling took the paper from Jennifer and laid it on the coffee table.

“Dad! There’s just one more!” Cried Jennifer.

“I know, but your so good at this, why don’t you rest your brain.”

“You helped me figure out most of the words.”

“But you are so good at the hard parts, Jen! You could be a detective!”

Jennifer perked up, “A detective?”

“Yes! You love solving problems, riddles, and puzzles! That’s pretty much what a detective does!”

Jennifer’s eyes started to sparkle with delight, “Oh daddy! We should go to LA, then I can figure out the mystery of Molly White! C’mon dad! Lets go!”

“Oh no, We can’t go to LA, I’ve got cows to take care of.”

“Well, I’ll go alone then.”

Mr. Ling threw back his head and laughed, “You can’t go alone!” He stood up and walked out of the room.

“Jennifer, I’ll come with you!” Owen whispered.

“Me too, it sounds fun!” Olivia whispered.

“You need a responsible 17-year-old, don’t you?”

Jennifer nodded, and they started counting their money for the plane.

“Let’s see,” Lucy said, all four of them were spread out in a circle on the carpet in Jennifer’s room. “We need 400 dollars per person. That’s 1,600 dollars!”

“How are we supposed to get that much money!” Cried Jennifer.

“We steal.” hissed Olivia, “We become like those lousy, ugly, dirty, rotten shopper who steal, and we take money from mom and dad.”

“Steal? Shouldn’t we earn the money fair and square?” Asked Owen.

“I have some money.” Lucy offered, “Not much, but every little bit counts, right?”

Jennifer nodded, “How much?”

“Ugh,” Lucy dug in her pockets, and pulled out a couple dollar bills, “Let’s see, a twenty, twenty, twenty, and twenty.”

“That’s almost a hundred.”

“But it’s not.” Lucy put her money in the middle of the circle.

“I have a lot of money!” Owen cried, “Remember, I got 500 dollars form Grandma this Christmas!”

“Owen, thats for college, and other important things!” cried Olivia.

“Important things...”

“You see Owen, that money is not for us to use, unless we absolutely need it.” Explained Lucy.

“Absolutely need...”

“Oh Jen, what are you talking about?” Olivia asked.

“Well, this is something that is important, and something we absolutely need...”

“Oh Jen! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! We can’t take that money out of the bank, it’s for college!”

“But you can’t find 1,600 dollars anywhere, and it takes a long time to get that much money! There’s no other way!”

“But... well, alright.”

Owen, Lucy, and Olivia stood up, and so did Jennifer. They raced downstairs, when they got to the door, they were hoofing and puffing like the big bad wolf.

“What are you four doing?” Mr. Ling asked, he was wearing a dark suit and fancy shoes.

“We...we...we...we...we...” Owen tried to explain.

“We’re going to town to, umm...” Jennifer tried to say.

“to, well, to visit, a store. You know, an awesome store. Lucy knows the name of it.”

Mr. Ling folded his arms.

“Dad, we aren’t going to any store. Don’t you know that OLIVIA. Of course not. We decided to go out to eat, just the four of us kids. Don’t worry, I have enough money. We decided to go to...to....”

“To the Neighborhood Cafe.” Olivia blurted.

“Yeah, now where are you going dad?”

Mr. Ling laughed, “Well, I’m going to... a place....”

The four children folded their ams, “What place?”

“I’m going to the bank.”

“That’s nice...ugh....dad.” Olivia said, “Let’s go you guys.”

They all ran to the car, they had to talk to each other. If their dad was going to the bank, they would have to skip that, because if their dad was going to the bank... he would definitely see them trying to get 400 dollars. He would be so angry at them, and would tell them that they should go that instant back to the house.

“What are we going to do?” Olivia asked slamming the door. They sat like this: Lucy driving, Olivia passenger, and Owen and Jennifer in the back.

“I’m not sure.” Lucy said as the rest of the doors slammed.

“Maybe dad’s lying.” Jennifer suggested.

Everyone starred at Jennifer.

“What? Dad’s wearing a suit, no one ever where’s suits to the bank! Dad was probably listening to us, and going somewhere with mom. He’s probably trying to scare us, by saying that he’s going, but he probably won’t go and we’ll miss a wonderful opportunity.”

“I say we vote.” Owen said. “If we get half and half, we don’t do it though.”

“Ok, raise your hands.” Olivia said, “If your for going to the bank.”

Owen raised his hand, Jennifer raised her hand, Lucy hesitated, but raised her hand.

“Well, then It’s decided. We’re going.” Jennifer cried, “But I think we should eat first, then that means that we didn’t lie.”

Lucy started the engine, and they started to the Neighborhood Cafe.

“I’m not sure what I want.” Olivia sighed as she slapped the menu on the table.

“Olivia, you said that fifty time, I think we get it.” Lucy said, “Fist, let’s figure out what you want to drink. What will it be?”

“Hot Chocolate.”

“Me too!”

“Don’t forget about me!”

“Ok, let’s wait for the waiter.”

So they waited for a little bit, they talked to each other, and laughed at the jokes they said.

“Oh...my...gosh.” Jennifer suddenly whispered.

“What is it Jen?” asked Olivia, she was eating her eggs.

“dad’s here!” Jennifer hissed, “What if he follows us to the bank?”

“Oh no!” Lucy cried softly, then she hissed, “Everyone, get in the car!”

“But my...” Owen was still in the middle of eating his omelet.

“GO!” hissed Olivia grabbing Owen and dragging him behind her.

They ran out of the cafe, the waiter was following them. He was a chubby person, and he had black hair. “The bill!” he cried, “The bill!” But it didn’t sound like he was saying that. It sounded more like a bunch of mumbling, and groaning.

Lucy stopped short, and the waiter slammed into her. He fell down whimpering for mercy. Lucy helped up the poor ma, and brushed off the dirt on his white uniform.

“Here.” Lucy said, and quickly dug in her blue purse for money, she found some and gave it to him.

The waiter waved to the girls, and he, smiled. His big rosy cheeks were red, and his fat hands clutched the money.

The four girls climbed into the car.

“Wow, that was weird.” Olivia sighed.

“Shut up Olivia,” Lucy hissed, “This is a real situation.”

“Fine.”

They road off in silence, all the way to the bank. No one said one word after Olivia, for they knew exactly what was going on, so they didn’t need to speak. Olivia wasn’t scared, she was a tough person...who was used to breaking the rules. Jennifer was scared out of her mind, Owen was a tiny bit scared, and Lucy didn’t have time to have emotions while she was driving.

“We’re here.” Lucy said, she turned off the engine and they all got out of the car.

“Do you see dad?” Jennifer asked.

“No.” Olivia replied.

“But... what if he’s in a car that we don’t recognize and he’s secretly watching us from somewhere...far, far away...”

“C’mon Owen, don’t be stupid.” Olivia sighed. She took Owen’s hand and pulled him inside the bank.

“I don’t like this...” Owen hissed, “I don’t like this at all... what if he disguised himself?”

“Owen...” Olivia warned, “If you keep going on and on like that, I’m going to smack you.”

“You guys, don’t fight!” cried Lucy, “I hate it when you fight! So stop it, you don’t need to fight. I hate it! You can live without it! Stop it right now, if you keep threatening Owen, Olivia, I’m going to leave you here stranded. Owen, if you never stand up for yourself, Olivia is never going to stop!”

Jennifer sighed, and so did Olivia and Owen.

“We’re sorry Lucy.” Owen said.

“I’m not sorry. It’s all Owen’s fault, he keeps dreaming about things that are never going to happen. He needs to find out what real life is like.”

“Well then Olivia,” Lucy sighed, “I guess we’re just going to leave you here...”

Everyone ran to the car, Lucy, Owen, and Jennifer climbed in, and locked the doors. Olivia came pounding on the car, and she shouted, screamed, and kicked. Owen and Jennifer laughed, but Lucy just starred at Olivia.

“Let me in!” Shouted Olivia, “I’ll be nice!” But it was muffled and everyone in the car couldn’t hear.

“Nope!” Owen cried with delight.

Then, Lucy opened the door and stepped out. She walked inside the bank.

“What is she doing?” Jennifer asked.

“I’m not sure!” Owen cried.

“Well, let’s follow her.” Olivia suggested.

Jennifer and Owen climbed out of the car, and walked to the bank. Followed by Olivia.

“What are you doing?” Olivia asked, her hands were folded across her chest.

Lucy turned around, “I’m getting money, what does it look like?”

Olivia sighed a big, huge sigh, “Why would you do that?”

“Hello! So we can go to LA!”

“I don’t want to go to LA.”

“What? Olivia, you seemed so excited!” Jennifer cried, “Your so hard to live with.”

“Yeah, but then you locked me out.”

Lucy shook her head, “You don’t understand a joke, do you?”

“Well, I hate it when you do that.”

“If you hate it, just tell us! You know we did it before, you thought it was funny then!”

“Well, you should’ve stopped after a while!”

“Well, we’re sorry.”

Olivia sighed, “That’s not good enough.”

Olivia put her hands in her pocket, and walked to the door, “Don’t worry,” She said opening the door, “I can walk home.” She walked out.

Lucy buried her head in her arms, “This isn’t good.” she sighed, “Not good at all.”

“What?” Owen asked, “We’re fine!”

“No, Owen, Olivia is a person who...lies. If you didn’t know, she lied about walking home.”

“What?”

“Owen, just listen, she probably stole the keys from Lucy, and because she has her drivers license, she drove away in Lucy’s car. Now, we have to walk home.”

“Aw man!”

the three siblings walked outside, they weren't surprised when they saw Lucy’s car gone. They walked to the end of the parking lot, and and sat on the curb.

“What are we going to do? It’s twenty miles away to our house!” Jennifer cried, “I guess we better sit here until dad comes.”

“Maybe we should walk, it’s good exercise.” Lucy said.

They all groaned and stood up, Jennifer and Owen followed Lucy.

“We walked like eight miles!” groaned Owen, “Can’t we rest?”

“Yeah, I’m so tired!”

“No! We must keep going!”

“What are you doing?”

Lucy turned around, and there was Brian. He used to be in Lucy’s class when Lucy was little. Now, they were good friends. Brian was a tall and skinny boy. He lived in the city, but he loved to help on the farm with Lucy. They had lots of great memories together. Memories that Lucy would remember forever. In Jennifer’s mind, she thought that Lucy and Brian would get married and lived happily ever after on a farm in the middle of now where, while she marries someone more awesome, and becomes a successful lady.

“Olivia happened.” Lucy said turning around to face Brian. Brian nodded and sighed.

“She’s not the nicest person. Maybe I could drive you home.”

“That would be very nice!” Lucy said hopefully, “Let’s go.”

Brian got in his truck, and he started the engine. “It might be tight!” He yelled out the window, “Cause it’s only made for two people!”

Lucy, Owen, and Jennifer squished together. Lucy sat in the passenger seat, Jennifer squeezed in the middle, and Owen sat on Lucy’s lap.

“I hate this.” muttered Owen, “It’s stupid. I’m perfectly fine on my own!”

“Owen, do you want a ride home or not?” Lucy cried, “It’s only for a little bit.”

“It’s almost twenty miles!” Owen complained, “I can’t wait that long!”

“Well, you’re going to have too.” Jennifer said.

Brian drove them all the way home. The whole time Owen complained. When Owen complained, Brain would glance at Owen for almost 3 seconds. Then he would sigh, and look at the road again. Lucy kept saying how wonderful Brain was and was thanking him almost way too much. Jennifer had brought her notebook, and didn’t say a word as she made her own puzzles to solve.

“We’re here.” Brian said as he parked at the Ling’s house.

“Finally.” sighed Owen.

“Owen, stop.” Lucy hissed, “Thanks for the ride Brian, I can always count on you.”

“Sure thing!” Brian nodded, “Do you need help with anything today? I’m not doing much...”

“No, no! It’s fine!” Lucy laughed, shacking her head, “Thanks a bunch.”

Brain watched the girls go inside, then he started up the truck and drove himself home.

“Ok, where is she?” Lucy hollered when she got inside.

“Ouch!” Screamed Jennifer, she put her hands over her ears, “Don’t yell like that!”

“Sorry, I just need to find Olivia!”

“Olivia?” asked Mr. Ling, “She never came, I thought she was with you.”

“WHAT?!” screamed Lucy.

“Well, I have to confess I was watching you. I followed you to the restaurant, and I watched you all. I also confess that I was listening to all of you when you were planing to go to LA.”

“You listened to our privet conversation?” asked Jennifer.

“I’m ready for the worst.” Moaned Owen.

“I’m not going to yell at you.” Mr. Ling said, “I want you to go.”

“You want us to go?”

“Yes.”

“What about Olivia?”

“Well if she doesn’t want to go, that’s her problem. Just let her do what she wants, she will probably change her mind.”

“Hey Christen.” Olivia said slamming the doors. Christen was sitting on the sidewalk, her hands folded on her lap.

“What are you doing Olivia?” Christen asked, her green eyes looked up, and her orange hair was finally out of her face.

“I need help.”

“Forget it.” Christen stood up and walked in her house. She locked the doors behind her.

“But I’m not sure what I should do!” yelled Olivia, she was desperate to do the right thing.

“What do you want?” Sighed Christen, she unlocked the door and stepped outside.

“Well, my sisters want to go to LA, but I’m not sure if I want to go. I’m still thinking, they want to solve a crime. Should I go? It costs a lot just to get to LA!”

Christen sighed, “Just do what you think is right.”

Olivia gasped, “That’s all? I was hoping for more advice!”

Christen sighed once again, “People expect that from me.”

Olivia though about everything Christen said. Christen was a person who liked to help people, unless something even more important came up. Olivia thought she knew the right thing to do. She must go to LA with her siblings, no matter how many times she felt like she was left out or not.

“I’m going.” Olivia beamed with pride.

“I knew you’d do the right thing!” cried Christen, “Your a great person with a great mind. Your so unique!”

“Thanks.” Olivia cried, “Thanks a lot!” Olivia climbed in the car, she waved at Christen and drove away.

The whole way home, Olivia thought I did the right thing! I did the right thing! I did the right thing! I did the right thing! She was so pleased with herself, she was so happy, and excited, and embarrassed. Why had she done that to her sisters? It wasn’t so wonderful. If it wasn’t for the thought that her sisters had to walk all the way home, she would have been very happy. But because of that thought, her heart wasn’t glowing with pride and accomplishment.

After a long while of driving with thoughts all over her head, Olivia was home. She jumped out of the car like a young girl, and ran into the house.

“Hi Olivia.” Lucy said darkly.

Jennifer and Owen just nodded, they couldn’t say anything.

“Hello Olivia.” Mr. Ling said, “So, about the LA...”

“I’m going.” Olivia beamed.

“What?” the Olivia’s siblings asked.

“I’m going to LA with you!” Cried Olivia.

“YAY!” Everyone crowded around Olivia, and they talked on, and on, and on about how happy they were and how great it was that she changed her mind. They said that they would never play a little joke again, and that they would always include her in all of the activities.

Olivia was happy she made the right choice. She never regretted it.

I hope they can post it! What do you think?

THAT WAS REALLY GOOD! I love it! One little note though... You might want to check your spelling and usage of the word "your." Most of the time in your story, it should have said "you're."

It's a really awesome story, though! Are you going to post more?
