Cricket contests!!!!

This thread is for your contest entries!  Especially - or only - the story and poetry contests, since I've never seen anyone who was able to put a picture in here.  Post all your entries here, since if they don't win, which is more likely than that they WOULD win, we wouldn't get to see them!  Oh, and we probably shouldn't offer any criticism, since if the entries DO win, we'd have helped.

I've only entered two Cricket contests ever - actually, I've only entered one, and my entry was a drawing of a dog biting a robber on the leg :P.  Needless to say, it didn't win.  The second time I wrote a story about a piece of living kelp who needed to find a wife... I really liked it, but Dad told me there were a lot of things wrong with it and I shouldn't send it in.  I looked and looked (and looked and looked) at it, but it looked fine to me... I ditched it.

Please post along with your entry the contest subject, because this thread ought to last a while.  Also, feel free to exceed the word limit if you aren't going to send it in.  This is just for fun.

May I suggest, Oregano, that people wait until after the contest deadline before sending any entries as a Chatterbox comment? Reading others' entries might provide an unfair advantage to those who still want the enter the original magazine contest.
