"Early Writing"

Chatterbox: Inkwell

"Early Writing"

"Early Writing" thread!

Remember the good old days of 1st grade where poems had to rhyme or they weren't any good? Time to relish those memories again! Hunt down a writing journal, flip through a folder, and scavange your computer for any writing from in Kindergarten-4th grade. If you're sixteen, seventeen, eighteen (like TNO) and you'd rather do something in 5th grade-middle school because of the age difference, go right ahead. Post your old writing on this thread, and have fun!

*flips through journals*

Aha. Here's a good one.....

Oops, I made a typo. Here's a WEIRD one.

This is my lamb. He eats ham. He eats lots of ham. Once he battled a jam eating gam. He fought with electric hair. When the lamb almost died, a bear in a wheelchair with a mean pair of pears scared the game, and he went away to a new land with scary pear pairs. And the lamb then went to a land with nice bears in chairs and wheelchairs and stayed out of mean jam-eating-lamb-gams!

*chuckles* That was from first grade. I was a strange one!....sounds like The Laugh Room, doesn't it? I must have been destined for the Chatterbox from an early age!

And just for the fun of it, here's another one from 4th grade....

"If"

If a flower was a watch, would time smell sweet?

If a horse was a cupcake, would horses be good to eat?

If a butterfly was a ball, would you catch it in your hand?

If a beach was a video game, could you have fun with sand?

If a pencil was an evil gang, would it be good to break?

If good was really bad, would you appreciate mistakes?

If an apple was a clipboard, would you eat your clipboard whole?

If the planets were some dishes, would the Moon just be a bowl?

If the Super Bowl was terrible, would baseball be more cool?

If water was too warm, would you really hate the pool?

Now here is one more question

To end this guessing game:

If all these things were different, would the world still be the same?

Spammy says "topx". I think he wants this thread to go to the top. I don't know about that X.

*Searches among a flurry of paper, and emerges with a paper stuck to her frizzled hair* Ahha! Found some! Since I am young for my grade I am going to put both my grade and age.

"Baby Boy"

Baby Boy, Baby Boy,

How thou play with thy life as with a toy?

In thou small hand you shake thy's troubles away,

Baby Boy, Baby Boy,

How thou perfect self be thrust in such a hopeless home?

Baby Boy, Baby Boy,

How thou play with thy life as with a toy?

Wowww I was seriously obsessed with "thy's" and "thou's" when I was little... Anyway, That was from 5th grade, age 9. Annnnnnd another from the same time! By the way, no I was not depressed... I just wrote sad poems.

"Listen Well"

Seeping sorrow, seeps, seeps, seeps, into thy heart,

Seeping Sorrow, seeps, seeps, seeps,

Sorrow is like hope in the Spring,

Always waiting for a hold on your heart and soul,

Listen well little ones,

Guard your soul,

Or seeping Sorrow will, seep, seep, seep,

Into your heart,

Like raindrops do,

Seeping Sorrow, seeps, seeps, seeps, into thy heart.

I will post more if anyone would like me too. But, I don't know of many more, besides from sixth grade, on. -Rose

Okay, I went against the teacher's will on this one (what I mean is: IT DOESN'T RHYME)!

Turquoise

Turquoise is a bead on a beautiful fake snake

or a rock on a birthstone

Turquoise is a dress or a feeling, like happy or excited or sad

Turquoise can do anything

Turquoise is the color of the sea

Turquoise is a type of blue

Turquoise is winter, icy cold

Turquoise is December or Spring

Turquoise.

I think that was first or second grade, first... Yes, I think it was first!

Wow, a lot of these are really good! Some are really strange, though. :) When I get back to California, I'll try to find some poems to post because all my stories are waaaay too long.
