Chatterbox: Inkwell

I am going

I am going to do NaNoWriMo this November! :D Yayayayayay!

Ahem. It's going to be about a white-tailed deer that lives in this nature preserve my family goes to sometimes, called Hemlock Bluffs. So, I'm doing a lot of research and outlining in-between now and November - learning about the preserve's population of deer, about deer behavior in general, familiarizing myself with the area, and also, asking lots of questions about the deer in my story and about the story's plotline. They're not going to talk - they'll have names - I like Vymeca, Kylo, and Weska - and maybe occasionally I'll put their thought processes into words, but, as I will explain, only because this way humans can understand them. Anyhoo...

And while I'm doing that, I need some advice from you NaNoing CBers! When you go to NaNo, do you type your novel on the website or do you have to...copy and paste it somehow...what do you do, basically? Thanks, everybuggy!

Andy P. C. says kyem. Kyem...Kyema...the name has promise. Thanks, Andy! *hugs*

YAY! You're doing NaNo!

Okay, so, um, I won in 2010 (my first time), I epically failed in July 2011 and I'm probably not going to win this month either, but for the November NaNo, I'm planning on winning.

So what you're supposed to do is you write and write on whatever writing processer you use (e.g. Microsoft Word or, um, Scrivener or something) and then once you have 50,000+ words (or whatever your goal is if you're setting your own goal), then you copy and paste it into this word-counter-thing on the site and if you have enough words, then you win! *cue Charlie Sheen: Winning!*

And I've decided on my NaNo as well! I was inspired by an article I read on how to torture a person effectively... in writing, not in real life. *nodnod*

@Olvie: Thank you! :D So, you get an account on the website and basically enter yourself, right? :)

@Admins: Random question - what happened to the location box? It didn't used to have a limit on the amount of characters you could write....

Andy P. C. says zrot. Z Rot? Who's Z? And why do they rot?

We limited the length of the location box because some people were putting messages there. It's supposed to be for geographical location only.

@Admin: Aw, man...:( I can understand that, though. I mean, it's really easy for your location-message to get overlooked or something...it was still fun, though. *shrugs*

@Olive: Definitely! :D *high-fives* You and Mary Liz and ZNZ and Vida and TNO and...well...whoever else is on NaNo! Post on here and tell me your name, guys, ok? I'll make a list so I know who to buddy. Oh, Ima has one...Bibliophile, right?

Andy P. C. says peyo.

I don't know if I am going to be able to do it this year because I am preparing for my bat mitzvah. If I do get to, I will post my username so we can buddy each other.

I might do NaNoWriMo.  First, I need permission from my parents of course, but besides that, I'm not sure I'm up for the challenge.  I might do the younger one to work my way up to NaNoWriMo.

Yes, do the younger one! I don't know any CB on the younger one!

OK, so what the heck is nanowrimo????

National Novel Writing Month or something like that. You can sign up to try to write a story of 50,000 words in one month. I'm sure some Chatterboxer will be happy to give you the details.
