New R.P.! Dryads.

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

New R.P.! Dryads.

New R.P.! Dryads. It'll basically be a forest, and humans try to cut it down. Here's mine!

Name: Aspen

Characteristics: Shy, VERY shy, but once you get to know her she is friendly, serious, and VERY thoughtful.

Looks: pale complexion, light brown eyes, reddish-brownish hair.

Tree: to be specific, her tree is American Aspen.

Sorry everyone, but I really can't think a beginning to the story. I'll write one later, or someone else can write it.

Hmm...I'll do a tree and one of the woodsy men who try to cut it down. :D

Name: Poplar

Characteristics: Fun and outgoing, like in the movies, the head cheerleader? The one who's not evil, she's that girl. :D

Looks: Pale with long brown hair, heart-ish shaped face, small nose, skinny and tall.

Tree: Poplar :D

This is the human...

Name: Dustin

Characteristics: Is the son of a logger (I think that's what they're called...) and has been told that all he'll ever do is cut down trees for a living, and is kind of expected to love it, but loves nature more and is going to try and stop them. So he's the good guy. :D

Looks: Tan with short black hair and strong.

TOP!!!!!!1

(April 25, 2012 - 6:47 pm)

Name: River Birch

Gender: Guy

Characteristics: sweet, down-to-earth, not shy, but not friendly

Looks: Pale skin, curly brown medium length (for a guy) hair, it has blond, kind of green-looking streaks, blue eyes

Tree: River Birch

Name:  Faye Bloomberg

Gender: Girl

Characteristics: hates nature, but other than that, same personality as River, they do different activities, though

Looks: tan skin, short black hair with an actual green streak (she dyes it), hazel eyes

Tree: she's a human

So I'm thinking River and Faye have been best friends since they were little, except Faye doesn't know he's a dryad.  Then she starts supporting this plan to cut the forest down just so she can go to the cool new stores in the mall there... And that's where I'll stop, so I don't reveal my whole plot idea:)

I think I'll do a human too.

Name:Ethan( Blackbeard) Toman

Characteristics: Very good leader, people think he's sorta scary, very determined never-give-up person.

Looks: Big, stocky man, blue eyes, curly black hair, and a huge bushy beard( hence the name).

Gender: Male

So he's going to be the leader of this expodition. The evil guy, but he doesn't really turn evil until people try to stop him and his men from cutting down the forest.

Aspen-

Aspen sang to herself as she watered some  flowers. She heard a step behind her and whirled around." Oh, it's you , River.''

" I just came back  from visiting Faye."

" oh. How do you go into the city? It seems so scary, yet so exiting!" she shivered to herself, but he was already gone.

Blackbeard-

Blackbeard strode through the town with a scowl, that was usually there. He hiked up the mountain to the small cabin, where the loggers stayed. " alright men, we got ouselves a new mission."

" What is it?" someone asked.

" Cutting down that forest on the south side of the city," he responed.

"But that's impossible!" a man said, "that forest is huge!!!!"

Blackbeard gave the man a long, scary look, then yelled, " Everyone be there at eight tomorrow. bring your own tools."

I heard them before I saw them, with their loud voices and heavy stomping. One of them yelled at a rabbit and the others laughed.

'No respect for nature whatsoever,' I thought.

Then they came into view. One of them, with curly black hair and beard, motioned for the others to stop.

"We start here, work until 6:00. Lunch break for 30 minutes at 2:00," he shouted.

I couldn't quite make out what they were going to do until, to my horror, they wielded axes, and began chopping down trees.

I gasped and stumbled backwards out of my tree, and into my human form. I reached up and quickly snapped off a branch, wincing as I did. Then I turned and ran. I ran as fast as I could until I reached a stream.

Panting, I leaned down to balance my branch in the water for a drink. I leaned down and drank quite a bit in human form as well.

Then came the pain of them chopping down my tree.

It hit my like I had just been stabbed in the stomach (in a way I had been), and I choked, immediately losing the contents of my stomach onto the river bank. I collapsed as the next stroke fell. I could feel my tree being cut, chopped, ripped and generally mutilated.

I pulled myself over to my branch, and grasped it tightly; it was my only source of life now. At least I had had the sense to bring it. Pale and weak, my vision started to go black. The last thing I saw was Poplar running towards me before I went unconscious.

Is it ok if I join?

Name: Rose (Goes by Rosie)

Characteristics: Shy with humans, friendly with Dryads, fiercly protective of her tree

Looks: Pale, long flaming red hair, green eyes, bright smile

Gender: Girl

Tree: Rosewood

Name: Alan Cordwin

Characteristics: Is a logger's apprentice. Isn't sure that he wants to do it, but his family is really poor, and they completely depend on him for income moneywise. Is sweet and thoughtful.

Looks: Tussled blond hair, blue eyes, boyish face.

I'm mostly going to talk in Rosie's voice.

Rosie~

I sighed and let the sun soak up on my face. The branch of my tree was warm and comfortable. I loved it here.

"Rosie!"

I jumped and looked up to see Aspen rushing towards me. A look of pure panic was on her face.

"They're chopping down the trees!" She screamed breathlessly. "Run!"

I sat up. "Wait, who's chopping down the trees? I don't hear..." But then the faint 'Chop, chop, chop' came to my ears. No. They couldn't! We'd known this would probably happen, but not so soon!

"I can't leave my tree!" I cried desperately as Aspen grabbed my hand.

"I know," she said, squeezing my hand. "But we can't stay. I'm sorry," she whispered as I started to sob. "Let's go."

//Poplar//

"Willow! Willow, are you alright?! Willow!" I run through the trees, agilely jumping over broken branches. 'Chop, Chop, Chop Whiiiirrrrrrrrrrr CRASSSHHHH' "Oh my gosh, no!" I whisper, and use my last bit of strength to run to Willow. She's lying, broken, on the riverbank. I pick her up gently and hoist her over my shoulder, running as fast as I can to the refuge known by all treey nymphs. The Park. I can already see others running as fast as their legs/trunks can carry them. Up ahead I can see Rosie and Aspen running, and not far behind them is River. The chopping is getting louder, it feels as if I'm on my last breath when I hear an echoing laugh ring through the forest. The birds flee, the squirrels are climbing up trees and collecting their nuts, and the once peaceful summer morning has turned into every nature spirit's nightmare. They're cutting the forest down. I turn my head, my hair flying in my face, and see a boy. About the age of a sapling, holding a small axe. He looks at me square in the eyes. Reaches out a hand. Holds a look of bewildermant upon his young face. But then a voice calls him back into the depthes and I have to keep on running. Sunlight is flickering from between the branches and soon we will be behind the park, where the elders hold their meetings, where we have assigned as a safe house if anything this catastrophic were to happen. I finally approach, and Willow's bark is terrible pale color, especially bad for her tree. I hand her over to the medic and walk over to Aspen, River, and Rosie. "Is everyone here?" Aspen asks. "I believe so, yes." I reply, not in the mood for socializing. The only thing I can think about is that boy's face.

I find it interesting, people's different ways of thinking of Dryads, you can tell just from their posts!

//Willow//

I wake up to find myself in the Park. I am surrounded by dryads who are experiencing the same symptoms as me. Some are of the kind that can survive even after their tree is cut down. Others, like me, can't survive unless they bring some part of their tree with them, like a branch. Then there are those who can't survive even if they do have a part of their tree with them after it's cut down. There are also those who can move with their trees, half transforming into walking trees, but they're not here with us obviously.

The medic, an old oak, leans over me.

"Quick thinking, bringing your branch with you," he says, gesturing to my branch, now stuck in half of an old water bottle filled with dirt.

"Keep it in there and drink plenty. You can't go into it again until it's rooted into solid ground, so don't try."

I nodded.

"You can go now," he said, moving off to a Canadian cherry, "just be careful."

I sat up, and immediatly began to feel light -headed. I lie down again.

Just one more minute.

I have to go now, sorry!

Aspen-

Apen drifted in and out of sleep as she huddled against the others. She started shivering, heard something behind her ,and looked up to see Willow standing next to her.

"Aspen, what's wrong? Willow asked with genuine concern.

"I'm scared. You know if my tree gets cut down I'll die! And it won't even be a real death either.I'll just crumble away into....nothing." She whimpered." We have to do something!"

"Aspen's right. We have to do something.

Aspen looked around to see everyone standing around them.

"Yes, but what?"Poplar asked.

"We need to talk to them. Make them see what they they are doing!" Rosie said in a weak voice.

In a broken voice, River said, "it won't work. I know humans."

"Yes , but it won't hurt to try!"Willow argued.

"Yes it will,"Aspen said, then begin to sob.

The entire group silently cried as they realized what she meant.

Is it okay if Rosie's the youngest?

Rosie~

I looked around at our scraggly group. Willow was pale and shaky. Aspen's eyes were rimmed with red. River had his head in his hands. Poplar was wincing and holding her side.

We had to do something.

"I'm going back." I announced. Poplar looked up wearily.

"Don't be silly, Rosie. It's suicide to go back."

"What else can we do?" I said angrily. "They're chopping down our trees, for goodness sakes! Willow's dying because of them. And pretty soon, we will too." The rest were quiet. "I don't know about you, but I'm not going to sit around and wait for my tree to be cut down. I'm going to see what they're up to. Find out how they work. Then we can get a plan together."

Everyone was silent. "It's hopeless," Willow sighed. "And besides, we don't need to lose you too, Rosie."

I nearly screamed in frustration. They treated me like a sapling, just because I was the youngest!  Did they just want to sit here and watch our world come down?

"Fine," I hissed. "Sit and watch. I'm going."

"Rosie, stop!" Willow called. "You're crazy!" River added. But I ignored them, and marched into the woods.

----------------------------------------------------------------

"Keep it up men. Lunch break in five minutes."

I peeked around the tree I was behind and looked around. Men were everywhere, their axes ringing like deadly bells. Their leader was a big men with a large beard.

"You all right, Dustin?"

A boy with blond hair and blue eyes was talking to a boy with black hair.

"Fine," the boy named Dustin said. "I thought I saw a minute ago... never mind. A trick of the eyes." The blond boy nodded. "Sit together at lunch?"

"Sure, Alan." He shrugged. "I'll see you soon." He walked off and left the boy alone. Alan. What a nice name for such a murderous boy. He sighed and started walking towards a tree.

"No!" I gasped. He stopped short and slowly turned towards my tree. Our eyes met for a minute. Blue. They were blue. But when he blinked, I was gone.
