So it came about that I was writing down the lyrics to a bunch of cheesy children's songs for my third cousin. And one of them was 'Green Grass Grows'.
I COULDN'T START LAUGHING IT WAS SO RIDICULOUS. LOOK IT UP.

I LOVE THAT SONG! I love all of them. "One flea fly flew up the flue and the other flea fly flew down..."
And my almost-favorite: "She sailed away on a happy summer's day, on the back of a crocodile, 'you'll see,' said she, 'he's as tame as he can be, I'll ride him down the Nile.' The croc winked his eye as she bade them all goodbye, wearing a happy smile... at the end of the ride, the lady was inside, and the smile was on the crocodile!"

Yeah, I think it depends on what mindset you have when listening to the song. Children need repetitiveness, so though those songs are annoying to you, they're helpful to little kids. I don't really like any of them, but I know my little sis does, so I think of it that way. ;)

And you should definitely count all of those inane camp songs. To name a few: Rare Bog, The Bubblegum Song, I'm A Nut, (why am I capitalizing these? They don't deserve to be capitalized) Alive Awake Alert, Thunderation (my fave because it's not stupid and at least gets interesting when you have girl scouts and boy scouts in the same group), and...
Oh, who am I kidding? The Song That Never Ends. I got yelled at once for singing that too much in first grade. That's where I learned the word "obnoxious".

Have you ever heard the one called "Just a boring square"? It is absolutely hilarious, because it is about a square who thinks he is boring, and elaborates by naming (repetitively) all the other shapes that he would like to be. At the end of the song, the square gets surgery and becomes a centigon. Look this up.

I looked up "Just a Boring Square" and it was hilarious! This is my own contribution to the cheesy song folio:

Kidneys clean and filter blood, filter blood, filter blood. If one of them is a dud the other does it's Job.
We learned that in kindergarten. It was pretty cheesy.

The Littlest Worm Song!
"The littlest worm I ever saw was sipping cider [or something like that...] through a stra-a-a-a-w!"
And of course you have to distort straaaaw to the point where it's barely understandable...
Hey! We used to sing that song at camp. But it started: "The prettiest girl, the prettiest girl, I ever saw, I ever saw, was sippin' cider through a straw . . ."
