Figment

Does anyone else have a user on this website?  It's a writing website for teenagers.  It merged with Inkpop a few months ago.

Michael Smith because a.) I was bored and b.) I forgot the password to my old account :P

So now I have a totally random person I created, therefore "Michael Smith."

New to Figment question:

What is a swap?  How do you do one with another person?

It's when you read someone else's story in exchange for them reading one of theirs.  It's how a lot of people get their contest entries read.  Normall, they ask you to heart and  add a comment or review, but it depends on the person.  Their swapping style can normally be found in their profile.

A swap is exactly what it sounds like. You read the person's story and they read yours, and you each do a comment/heart/whatever.

Thanks!!!!  I'm still learning the ropes of Figment, so sometimes I might have totally obvious questions...

Oh dear.  I was afraid this would happen.  Spamster wants a Bob the Builder RP.  The horror.  (what else is fxrp supposed to mean?)

I personally don't like swaps. Getting the most hearts on figment isn't a big deal. Figment is about connecting with other writers and reading what you like, and putting your work out there to be read! I will swap with anyone who reads anything, but if they ask for a comment on a certain story I'm less likely to do so. Especially I click on someone elses page and see the exact same message on their page. D:

I swap because it's the only way to get feedback! You can put your work out there but no one will read it if you don't swap. I'm not looking to collect hearts either, I just want feedback. I always do comment swaps, no heart swaps.

I only comment or review when I do swaps.  Because hearts just say they liked it, but you don't know the reason.

I have one! My most recent book is "The things that matter." It's the diary of Katniss's daughter Prim. Please give feedback!

This is really awkward since I was so excited about tFigment and started this thread and everything, but I think I'm going to delete my user after the contest I'm in is over.  I just don't have enough time for it.  I can write on my own.  I can get other people's feedback on my own.  If I want it.  Sometimes I prefer keeping my writings private.

Too bad Melody! But I get why you are. It can be weird to have people you don't know look at your writing. But thank you for the feedback on mine!
