Um, I download 20-something songs every few weeks and they're the only songs I listen to on my iPod. Then come another 20-something songs and the older songs are forgotten about and never played again.

So what songs are you guys listening to right now? At the moment I'm listening to Sleepyhead by Passion Pit (one of my new favourite bands that I saw in an Apple ad- Apple has great taste in music by the way). Anyway, these are my favourite songs right now.

Sleepyhead by Passion Pit

She Wolf (Falling to Pieces) by David Guetta ft. Sia

Don't You Worry Child by Swedish House Mafia

Punching in a Dream by The Naked and Famous (if you know them I'll give you a hug)

The Sun by TNAF^

Samson by Regina Spektor (who was also in an Apple ad)

Walk of Shame by P!nk

The Truth About Love also by P!nk

What are your favourite songs of the moment?

I'm currently listening to all the songs I've ever bought on iTunes in one playlist.  That's 98 songs, so I don't think I can add them all in.

At the moment I'm listening to a playlist called "Shindle's List" (what? it's what her blog is called and I thought it was clever) which, as you... might be able to guess... is comprised of every single song I have that Kate Shindle sings/sings a sizeable portion of. Including the audios I've ripped from YouTube videos because there aren't nearly enough official recordings of her singing. It's a little over three hours long, with 55 songs from Dracula, Jekyll & Hyde: Resurrection, Sympathy Jones (demo and concept recordings), Legally Blonde, Wonderland (obcr, closing night, and a handful of other random recordings from YouTube), and miscellaneous concerts/her solo album. Yes. At the moment it's on Wicked's "Defying Gravity" from a concert wherein Brian Lowdermilk (of all people...) sings Glinda's part. And it's hilarious.

TL;DR: I am a hopeless Shindleite who listens to some person the rest of you have probably NEVER HEARD OF or only heard of from me ALL. THE. TIME. because she can belt CAKING HIGH C'S. ((and then, after I find this out and started boggling because NOBODY'S THAT PERFECT, it's like, oh yes, and she was Miss America too. And then I died. /unrelated))

OK, I just made a playlist I think is a good one.  It's called Rose because I'm horrible at thinking up names for this type of stuff.

Secrets by OneRepublic

Ignorance by Paramore

It's Time by Imagine Dragons

Brick by Boring Brick by Paramore

Everybody Talks by Neon Trees

That's What You Get by Paramore

The Only Exception by Paramore

The Cave by Mumford & Sons

If you can't tell, I'm on an alternative kick, anchored by Paramore.  It marks the death of my Beatles kick.  R.I.P.

I loove Mumford & Sons. You should listen to the song The Enemy from the Wuthering Heights (2011) movie.

And That's What You Get is special in my heart, because I'm awesome at drumming it on Rock Band :p.

I listen to a lot of mixes that I download from the Internet. The current one is called, um, "La La La Love." It's love songs, very cheery.

Eh...actually the Mozart D major flute concerto, mainly cause I'm playing it, but I'd rather be listening to Muse. *glare*

Yeah, Muse.  Anything Muse.  I really like Uprising, Starlight, Butterflies and Hurricanes, Supermassive Black Hole, Sunburn, Muscle Museum...

I also have a thing for Vienna Teng, Enya, Birdy, The Civil Wars, Arcade Fire, John Denver, Howard Shore...basically anything off-the-wall, disjointed, and weird!

I like Sting...actually no, only one song, and that's Fields of Gold.  Yeah, never mind, except for that, I dislike Sting. Very much.

And fanmixes.  Particularly the ones that my friend Elise (she goes by veliseraptor on tumblr and 8tracks, if you want to look her up) makes- I am obsessed with her "Epitaph on a Tyrant" and "Shelter in the Storm."

Admin, the italics are malfunctioning, if you would please fix, thanks-

For some reason, I can fix the italics. It's stuck for me, too.

YOU KNOW VIENNA TENG?! *hug* A lot more people have discovered Birdy which is amazing. You should check out He is We. :)

Oh, I found this app called Songza and it's like Pandora I think. Except it actually works in Canada*. So I'm very happy. No need for YouTube anymore!

*you Americans are so lucky, with Pandora, Hulu, XXI, and In-n-Out. Do you know how hard it is to catch up with Pretty Little Liars here? :/ And are Cheesecake Factory servings normal at American restaurants?

Whoa, you both know Vienna Teng... and yay for Enya!

Yes!  I know Vienna Teng!  And my life is so much better for it!  I love "Enough to Go By."  It makes me so happy and sad at the same time.

And Birdy too...tha girl has got some serious talent.

The weird thing is, the fanmixes that I listen to make me associate certain songs with certain fandoms or characters within those fandoms.  Like "Uprising" or "Starlight" by Muse.  I always think of the House of Fëanor when I listen to the former, and Aredhel and Celegorm (I'm starting to ship Ar/Cleeg, just a lttle bit) for the latter.

But nobody knows what I'm talking about, so I'll stop now.

But Vienna Teng is good! Yes! And Birdy!

But "Pretty Little Liars"? No.  Just...no.

Odd question, but Cheesecake Factory meals and cheesecake slices are big enough for like three people here.

I love a few of the artists on yours. You owe me a hug, as I absolutely love The Naked and Famous, as well as both Passion Pit and Regina Spektor. You should check out MGMT if you like Passion Pit - very similar.

Flash Delirium - MGMT

Gravity Rides Everything - Modest Mouse (I highly recommend their album The Moon & Antarctica. It's my favorite at the moment.)

The Headmaster Ritual - The Smiths

How to Disappear Completely - Radiohead

Hunter - Björk

Oh Comely - Neutral Milk Hotel

Take Me Out - Franz Ferdinand

Rebellion (Lies) - Arcade Fire

All Apologies - Nirvana

Love Like a Sunset - Phoenix

Summertime Clothes - Animal Collective

Brian Storm - Arctic Monkeys

Helicopter - Bloc Party

Kool Thing - Sonic Youth

Sometimes - My Bloody Valentine

Do You Realize?? - The Flaming Lips

Mostly indie and alternative rock. I could keep going, but I'll stop there.
