Amigurumi!

So recently I discovered the wonders of crochet, especially (SUPER CUTE *SQUEAL*) amigurumi! So far I've made a frog for my dad's Christmas present, and I'm working on a pig with the same pattern. I learned to knit a few years ago, but... crocheting is much easier. Anyone else crochet, or, for that matter, knit?

I started to knit in November and I am using what I learned for a few Xmas presents.

I have tried (and failed) at both.  My great-grandmother said she'd give me lessons, though. I should take her up on her offer soon.

I forgot about this thread!

So far, two hedgehog (bodies) done, one in the making and one still to be done. Then I have to make the spikes, and sew on the faces...I've sure got my work cut out for me. Good thing they're fast! I whipped up a hedgehog body yesterday waiting in the dentist's lobby.

Gosh, I have to get ready to go in like, six hours! Our second performance (little mermaid) is tonight! But it's more low-key for me tonight--my role is double-cast and it's my off-night. (so many hyphens!) -o-

Thank you! All four performances went "swimmingly!" heh heh.

So I finished my hedgehogs at 10:30 last night... which is rather late for me, explaining why the noses are lumpy and the eyes bug out. Oh well...

By the way, Merry Christmas to everybuggy!

Merry Christmas to all!

I am a semi-obsessive knitter/crocheter whose friends are never at a loss for yarn creations. I actually found a great pattern for an amigurumi octopus last year and made one in blue. My friend named it "Squishy" and her sister proclaimed it to be her boyfriend. Yesterday, I found a pattern for a "Despicable Me" minion and have decided that it'll be somebody's Christmas present. It's really simple, too, just an I-cord with some changes.

I knit, and have attempted to crochet, but have failed.

My dad got me a knitting kit for Christmas last year, but it didn't explain HOW to knit, just what stitches to use to make a bag. I was going to learn, but haven't had time. I want to though!

I have started crocheting but have nobody to teach me, so I have been teaching myself with help from two how-to kits I got from a neighbor. My mom tried to teach me how to knit once. I have to say, I was terrible at it. Sure, my crochet projects so far are a bit lumpy but my little knitted doll blanket WAS A MESS. It was horribley lumpy and uneven and you couldn't really tell what it was supposed to be. I would go look at it now but I quit halfway through so it got completely unravled and turned into a a tangly knot of yarn. So I decided to stick with crocheting. (Sorry everybuggy for the rant. I just had to express how horrible I am at knitting.)

That's funny! My animals are all a bit lumpy, in the back where you connect each round. I can't figure out if they're supposed to look like that.

Is anyone here on Ravelry (no typo)?  It's a website for knitters and crocheters, you can upload patterns you've made, share the projects you've made and find free patterns!
