Who here is

Who here is vegetarian/vegan/pesketarian? I became vegetarian at five, and plan on being one for the rest of my life.

I am not vegetarian, but I've read a lot about people who are. Is it hard to stay away from meat, especially when you go to a friend's house?

I don't find it difficult to stay away from meat, but I definitely did when I started out. I originally ate meat one day a month and eventually phased it out altogether. It isn't a problem when I visit friends, though, because aside from the fact that I have virtually no social life (since that wasn't true when I was eight), I always found it easier for me to bring my own food because of my allergies.

My cousin is a vegan. Our entire family learned, after an unfortunate episode involving cookies she made, a desk, and a holiday party that it was probably not a good idea to remove animal products from one's diet.

As for me, no, I could never be a vegetarian, or even a pescetarian. I just love meat too much. And bacon, which is its own class.

Admin: I'm vegan, too! And I'd recommend you hunt around for a new cookie recipe. You might be surprised. :)

I'M A VEGETARIAN!!!! I AM!! I AM!

I have never eaten meat except 1 time I sneaked a tiny crumb of bacon to see what it tastes like and one time I tried fish sticks and disliked them.

My parents never fed me or my bro' any meat because they thought we should make our own decisions when we got old enough to decide for ourselves. I think I will remain a vegetarian forever.

What is a pesketarian? (If it means someone who eats no meat, fish, or poultry this will make me look ignorant because I don't eat meat, fish or poultry)

A pescetarian is a person who doesn't eat meat, but they will eat fish or seafood. I tried to do that once, but it lasted, uh, six days?

I thought about being a vegetarian, but then my parents made bacon for breakfast (CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT BACON), and steak for dinner, and I quickly changed my mind!

I've kind of been going on and off pesketarian for a couple years.  I've been eating less meat since I started again after about three or four months of pesketariantism.  I probably would stay pesketarian, or even vegetarian, but my mom is against it, so I have to do what she says or she starts getting upset and all this stuff.  Even when I still eat fish.

I've been vegan since I was 8. I'm allergic to dairy and eggs, though, so that part is, well, easier than it normally would be.

@ Gollum: She's actively against it? Why? *is curious*

She thinks I'm starving myself and that I won't get enough protein and that my friends who are vegetarian are pressuring me and all this other stuff.  Which is not true.

One of my best friends is a vegetarian.  It seems to be going pretty well.  One time, though, her parents made her a steak for dinner because they forgot.  My other friend ended up eating it.

I could never be a vegetarian.  I live off of animal products.

i agree.  W/out it I wouldn't have any bacon w/ my eggs and no dinner when we would have steak or chicken or something.  I would be dead. Cry
