Oz Sequels

Oz Sequels

Blah, blah, blah. Disney planning Great and Powerful sequel. I already typed this once and accidentally deleted it. Drubonical. Characters they should have in sequels. Blah.

Dorothy Gale

Obviously!!!

Polychrome

PolychromeColor.JPGI already typed details, then accidentally deleted them, you're going to have to look up more info yourself. Blah. Polychrome, pictured here, is the Rainbow's daughter. Illustration from The Tin Woodman of Oz, created by John R. Neill in 1918. (Admins, PLEASE DO NOT remove the image, it is in the public domain, since the Oz books are so old, so it's fine to use anywhere anyone likes.)

Polychrome dances on the Rainbow with her sisters, and sometimes falls off the Rainbow and gets lost on Earth. As written in Tik-tok of Oz, she is "so dainty and beautiful that no girl has ever quite equaled her in loveliness." Plus she always dances wherever she goes, so long as she's happy.

Princess Ozma of Oz

A fairy princess who is the ruler of Oz, she is the rightful ruler of Oz, and was given to the old witch Mombi as an infant and turned into a boy and renamed Tip, so he/she would never get the throne he/she so rightfully deserved. Then Tip made Jack Pumpkinhead, an inanimate figure with a pumpkin for a head, and Mombi used a magic powder to bring him to life. She then told him/her that she planned to turn him/her into a marble statue, and he/she escaped from Mombi with Jack Pumpkinhead. went on an adventure I cannot take the time to fully describe (partly because I have yet to read The Marvelous Land of Oz), he/she was eventually reverted to his/her natural gender, and Princess Ozma became ruler of Oz.

I really don't feel like typing out more people right now. Anyone else from the CB want to suggest anyone else from Oz?

Rodney says cbat. I don't see any bats, Rodney. Any bats in the land of Oz? Uhh... I don't think so.

Other characters who need to be in the coming Oz movies:

Tik-tok

Tiktok.png

Tik-tok (this image is also in public domain) is a machine man who was manufactured by Smith and Tinker in the Land of Ev, and runs on complicated clockwork that must be wound in order to keep him going. He has three springs to turn, one that runs his thinking, one that runs his speech, and one that runs his action. He first appears in Ozma of Oz.

The Nome King

The Nome King, also called "The Metal Monarch" and "Ruggedo" is the potbellied king of the Nomes. He looks jolly upon first glance, but is actually unreasonable, bad-tempered, and determined to get his way. He is only afraid of eggs, which are supposedly poisionous to all Nomes.

Jack Pumpkinhead

If they have Ozma, they will most likely have Jack Pumpkinhead, who, as I mentioned, is a figure with a pumpkin head brought to life by means of magic powder.

Anyone else?

I need to reread those, too.  I think the only sequel I liked (or finished) was Ozma of Oz.

Sheesh, the Admins were offline for a full 24-hour period. Ah, well. I can't really complain, especially since it says in the rules to "be patient".

I hope they acknowledge the fact that, in the books, all the animals can talk just like everyone else in the Land of Oz, unless they choose not to. However, I also hope they don't make the rest of the animal cast as cheesy as Finley was. If Toto is voiced with an Eddie Murphy impression, I'll probably go nuts.

I wonder who should direct the sequel. Brad Bird? That's all I can think up.

Now that I think about it, I believe Martin Scorcese (Hugo) should direct Oz 2.
