American Girl Movies!

So, does anyone else here watch the American Girl movies? Or even just read the books? I have seen all the movies, and the next one, Saige Paints the Sky, comes out July 2! Personally, I prefer ones about the historical characters, instead of the girls of the year. I SO wish they had made one about Kirsten! I love Samantha, Kit, but my favorite is Felicity! So, anyone else?

I've read a lot of the books but I've only een the Felicity movie. My favorite is Felicity too!

I like Felicity because it is from the 1700s and I luv horses (I already said that) and I like the Mckenna books and movies because I do gymnastics.

I've seen all of the historical movies that they have made and out of those my favorite is Samantha, but Molly is close behind. I wish that they made one for ALL the historical characters, especially Addy (my favorite) and Josephina.

I've read a lot of the historical books, and saw the Kit Kitteredge movie, which I did not like.  The actress who played Felicity was recently cast as Hazel in the tentative TFiOS movie.  Kind of weird.  My favorites were Kirsten and Molly.

I love the American Girl movies!  I've watched all the historical ones.  Blu has the one about the girl of the year who got bullied for raising llamas, but I've only watched parts of it.  What I saw was really good.

My favorite is probably Kit.  I saw that one in movie theaters and I think it's great.  Of course, Samantha is a classic.  I have Felicity, so I like that one too, and the Molly one has a really good ending.:)

I also wish there was a Kirsten movie.  Blu has Kirsten.  Since she was discontinued, nobody seems to remember her.  Maybe a movie would help people to remember.  I was babysitting a kindergartener who loves American Girl the other day and she said she'd never heard of her!

I agree, I wish they'd make all the historical characters too. Felicity is my fave movie, but all the rest follow a close second. As to my favorite dolls and stories, I really have trouble deciding. It may be Felicity, but I also really like Kit, Kirsten, and Kaya (ironic, all k's...)

@ Gollum: Yeah, the actress who played Felicity has gone on to do some other things, most of which I do not care for, like that show on ABC family.

@ Melody: That is just so sad. Kirsten was one of the best! She was so pretty, had a great, heart-felt story, beautiful clothes (like her birthday dress that I just LOVE!). The movie you saw was Chrissa Stand Strong, which is okay. It's about bullying, and the Grandma in it was the mother on The Waltons. The last one to come out was McKenna Shoots for the Stars, which was about gymnastics. Again, it was okay. If simply for some of the characters, to me it was better than Chrissa. I love Josie in it!

So far, I'm also liking the new doll, Caroline. (which has nothing to do with her pretty pink dress and long blonde hair *looks sideways*)

I must admit, if they keep making Girl of the Year movies, instead of historical ones (which it looks like they might) I probably won't be as keen to see them. BRING BACK FELICITY, KIRTSTEN, and SAMANTHA!!! *slinks away shedding bitter, angry tears*

I really wish they brought back Samantha, too! When we turn 8, our Granny gets us an American girl doll of our shock, and I desperately wanted Samantha, but she got discounted right before! She is really pretty, and her movie is amazing! I wish they make more historical character movies too. I have Kirstin, and although I haven't gotten to reading her books, I know the first one is sad, and I love Kirstin, even though I took her hair out of the braids and now they are all knotted. I really like Charissa, Kit, Smantha, and Molly movies, I want to see the Mackenna one, but I really don't care about the Saige one. Melody has the Felicity movie and the doll, and we were watching the movie once, and when Felicity meets that horse keeper, I got scared and haven't watched it since! It likes slightly boring to me! I would really like Marie Grace and Ceile movies, since my granny had them, I read part of the books, and it's really good!

I haven't gotten a chance to read any Marie Grace or Cecile books, though I want too! I won't spoil anything, though yeah, the first Kirsten book is sad. I've read them all, plus side mysteries too, and I recommend The Runaway Friend. It's really good!

The Felicity movie does have some intensive or dramatic parts than the other movies. But the ending is so worth it! Maybe you could try the movie again, Blue Fairy, and skip that part. Though I understand how it doesn't fascinate all. I myself am just particularly interested in the American Revolution.

As well in Addy. I just LOVED Addy's books. My mom read them to me years ago, I loved hearing all about her life. It was so interesting.

Those who haven't read many or any side mysteries, I STRONGLY recommend them! I haven't read them all, but of what I have, they're all good! I've even read some of the mini stories, like Kit's Treehouse, an Kit's Homerun.

I think I read the Josephina mystery at a friend's house.  I liked the Josephina books.  I don't think I read the entire series of any of them except for Kit and possibly Samantha.

I really like the mysteries! I have one of Missing Grace (Kit), Shadows on Society Hill (Addy), and my favorite mystery...Secrets at Camp Nokomis (Rebecca).

I love all the American girls. I love the Felicity and Samantha movies the most. Does anyone remember Kaya? I remember a friend of mine had her and she had really beautiful hair. My favorite mystery is The Curse of Ravencourt; it's a Samantha mystery.

The mysteries are really good!  I've read a few of them.

Blu, did you type that on your iPad?  Autocorrect got you in a few places, there...

@Elizabeth

When I was in second grade, I was in an advanced reading group with two boys in my class and we read a Kaya book, even though I was the only girl.  I really liked it!  It was about when she got kidnapped and had to make it home.   Even the guys got into it:)

@ Teresa: Oh! I want to read Missing Grace and Secrets on Society Hill SO BAD!!! I think I've read all the other Kit mysteries too. And some Molly ones. I deeply recommend Spy on the Homefront. It is a Molly, and it's so good!

@ Melody and Elizabeth: Oh gosh, I LOVE Kaya! Her story is terrific! Melody, the one you were reading was the second in the series, Kaya's Escape, which is a really good one! I recommend reading the whole series. It's a great story line of bravery, sisterhood, and "growing up." I love the whole thing. I've also read Kaya's side mystery, The Silent Stranger, which is another good one.

Elizabeth, I've read The Curse of RavenCourt too! Don't you just love the ending?!
